And I am -just- hearing about this? Farawyn, I see how it is! *mock gasp* A good old pot luck BBQ sounds great.

Been meaning to make steak on the grill but haven't gotten to it. Definitely will change that soon. I like to sometimes marinade the steak in Gentleman Jack and Jack Daniel's marinade sauce.....mmm-mmm good.

Farawyn was discussing some cuke basement situation.... so I'm assuming she has cucumbers which led me to thinking about a crisp salad which then got me to thinking about a steak on the grill. Baked potato. Or corn on the cob? Either way. Bring a steak tomorrow night!!

i have no clue what a cuke basement situation is. Sounds a little dirty. *shrugs*

Nice tossed salad, with grilled steak, bake potatoes and corn on the cob.....sounds like a great start to a wonderful bbq. Throw on some burgers and dogs for those that don't feel like having steak.

And don't forget the beer/liquor!

That does sound awful
I did acquire a taste for Strongbow cider when I lived in London -
but there are so many more options now.

I have a preference for pear cider,

my local micro makes a really good one.

Irish cream ice cream used to be...

I don't even remember the classification we used to use.

That one food that I might turn sex down in favor of.

AND brownies!? brownies sound sooooo goood right now.

I miss brownies. Gluten free just not the same.

And krispie cremes

and... bread. hot soft bread.

I never thought I would miss Rye. I liked it... but .. I miss sandwiches. Especially Reubens tonight for some reason.

Oh and honey. OMG honey. I miss honey.

Mead. we got a bottle of mead as a wedding gift, and consequently we used to toast with mead on our anniversary. It does weird shit to me.. maybe always has. Allergies go haywire for days.

I miss Fried food (breaded). Tempura. Onion rings.

the "brownies dunked in irish cream" brought all that to mind because it reminded me of this mudslide ice cream I had one time... irish cream with brownie chunks & mocha ice cream.

that reminds me of a mudslide slice of icecream pie I had once in Atlanta, late at night after the theater,

It was so many years ago, but I can still taste it...

My memory functions like that sometimes.. but... usually not so much for taste.

And really not right after a cider.

(ok it's not *right* after... I nursed it empty just about an hour ago)

I seem to have a strong sensory memory...
color, taste, smells, the way I was feeling...

it can be a blessing and a curse.
