Not all hard apple cider is the same.
Look for dark or dry apple cider.
I definitely find some or most to be too sweet.

My preferred hard cider are pear ciders.

I was experimenting tonight. Fall flavors. First I made a caramel syrup on the stove and infused it with a vanilla bean and cinnamon. Then started Maki g drinks.

Dark rum, hazelnut liquor, apple cider and the syrup with cardamom bitters was the winner. But also played with orange liquor, walnut bitters, vodka, orange juice and lemon juice ingredients. Tomorrow when friends come over, I'm going to use the new syrup in Old Fashioneds too
