The Dark (open)

Xavier, she said softly stopping him. I don't want you to feel as though you're being clingy. Because i completely understand your viewpoint. I just have had this independence for so long. Its going to take some getting use to having someone that i really like with me so much.

I'm fully aware of how far you're willing to go for my protection. And i adore you for it. I am yours as much as i can be at this point. Each day promises a bit more. I'm not backing down from this relationship, or from us. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him on the cheek before hugging him tightly. I have no desire to be with out you in my life."

She smiled before grabbing his hand and dragging him inside the storage office. The abundance of boxes she ordered was too much for them to carry so she rented a dolly to strap them down on. With markers and tape they were complete as she binded down the dolly with them. Luckily they also had movers that were for hire so she set up an appointment for them to come to her apartment in two days and Xavier gave them the address she would be going to. They began their uneventful walk home.

Once back in the locked apartment she began packing she seemed to have a unique system. Giving Xavier instructions to start with the movies.

Xavier began to load the boxes with movies. He watched as the movies slipped into the box, his eyes following them closely, his thin fingers playing over the movies as he moved them over to the box. He spoke softly, "You have a lot of movies." He smiled softly as he filled the box and then looked back over his shoulder at her, "As long as there is plenty of inspiration to be romantic in them." He smiled as he looked at her for a few more moments, and then looked back to the videos that he was working on putting into the box, "What do I have to do after I do the movies?"

Raven smiled at him. He was so handsome. "I'm sure you're bound to find something in there you approve of" she smiled. The Cd's are in the drawer under it, theres not to many, they may just fit in the dvd's box. She looked at the bookcase and then at him, then back to the books.

"If you want to pack the books, she said almost hesitantly, "just please be careful, there are some treasures in there that are quite fragile." She was referring of course to some books that were at least a couple hundred years old.

She finished her desk stuff, and moved to the kitchen. She seemed less concerned with the kitchen ware as she just tossed it recklessly in boxes. Until she came to her glasses. Those she packed semi carefully. It took her less time to pack the kitchen then it did her desk. Moving to her pantry she loaded all her boxes in cans in a box. Bringing out the cooler she placed all the items from her fridge and freezer.

Her bookcase was overflowing with books and such. She looked back occasionally smiling at him as he seemed to read some titles and look semi impressed. He'd find that not all over books were on vampires. There was of course a few, but for the most part she had original classics.

She went to the bathroom and began throwing her things into another box. Grabbing a plastic back for her shampoo and such she needed to take with her tonight. When she came back out he was looking at an empty case. She smiled.

"I just have the stuff in the bedroom. It shouldn't take long with the two of us"

Xavier nodded. Having been very careful with the books, since he was very careful with his own books, he had finished slowly, being careful and taking his time. He sighed as he had just finished when it seemed that Raven had appeared and was ready to move on to the next task, the bedroom. He had been silently fearing the bedroom. He slowly moved over to Raven wondering if she was serious. Surely she couldn't be. How would he be able to help her pack up her bedroom. With his luck he would stumble onto a pantie drawer or something else embarrassing that would ruin his chances with her.

He had been dreading the bedroom for another reason. He wasn't sure if he was going to be able to keep his hands to himself in that place. It was the place that Raven slept, but also had a reasonable possibility of being the place that she pleasured herself if she did that sort of thing. If she read romance novels before it would no doubt be doused in enough pheromones that it would drive him wild.

The problem ran deeper than that though. It wasn't just the fact that he knew that he was going to have trouble holding it back if he was in that room with all of those things. The problem was that if he was in there, he was going to have trouble deciding that he didn't want to just let go. He was going to have a hard time deciding that pressing her to a wall and ravaging her lips, or laying her down on her bed and finding out what her panties really looked like would be such a bad idea.

He suddenly snapped back to reality to find himself almost ready to lean forward and steal a kiss from Raven's lips. He blinked and then swallowed hard, "I am not sure that is such a good idea, Raven."

She watched Xavier struggle with his mind after she said it. The thought actually didn't strike her until now that it might be uncomfortable for the two of them to be in that particular area with all its possible meanings. She had read somewhere about the exemplary senses Vampires had. Knowing that the last time she pleasured herself was that very morning thinking about him, it may just be a wise idea to let him stay out of that room.

"You're probably right she said lightly. Tell you what. I have all this furniture and i don't know what you have or don't have. So just take this sticky pad, she stated pressing it into his hand with a marker,
"and mark down stay or go. What stays I'll just have put into storage and worry about that later." She smiled to him, so close still touching his fingers. "Thank you again" She added standing on her tip toes and kissing him on the cheek. Before pulling away. Her heart beat rapidly as her soft velvet lips touched his cool cheek. What was he doing to her. She was loosing her mind. Smiling she grabbed a couple of boxes and some tape and went into the bedroom. Pulling out a big suitcase she threw in all of the contents of her drawers. With the boxes she packed her jewelery case and other odds that she had.

Xavier sighed and wandered around the rest of her house. He supposed that really there was space for all of the furniture if she wanted to keep it all. He looked over to the entertainment system. That was definitely something that could come with them. Even though he had one of his own, there was nothing wrong with having twice as much equipment, and mixing and matching everything to get the best audio and video would be fun. He sighed softly and then looked over to the couch, it was another reasonable idea. One could never have too many couches, and if they were bringing in the entertainment system and planned to set it up somewhere, then they would need a couch so that they could watch it together.

Again suddenly his mind had left the path that it should have been on as he imagined the two of them fooling around on a couch, kissing, snuggling, and then eventually doing a little bit more. His mind and imagination were filled with the moans of the girl as she writhed in pleasure beneath him, her chest heaving from the ragged breaths that escaped her lips, her legs wrapped around his hips to pull him further into her with every thrust, her arms wrapped around his neck, pulling him closer and pressing her naked breasts into his chest as she moaned his name.

He opened his eyes and shook his head. This was definitely a train of thought that he was going to need to derail.

Finally the bedroom was packed. Raven slowly shook her head as she looked around, how had her life come to this. She looked out the doorway and saw Xavier smiling at the couch. She smiled a little as his tall form hovered over it as his mind to seemingly play pleasant thoughts for him.

She waited a moment as he shook his head lightly, "I think that I'm ready" she said softly as she looked around the room. She went to the balcony and opened the doors for the last time. Stepping out into the patio as the one am morning chill swept over her. She closed her eyes taking in the sounds of the city from her little piece of paradise. How she loved this apartment, and now thanks to her lack of judgment in men, she was forced to leave it. She heard Xavier behind her. Her savior Xavier, she smiled at the catchy title she phrased in her mind. Tomorrow would be a fresh start in her new life.

Xavier smiled softly as he slipped in behind Raven, wrapping his arms around her from behind, "I'm sorry that you have to move if it is any consolation." He kissed the top of her head and looked out at the scenery. He was sure that he had managed to get his emotions and hormones under control he wasn't going to have to worry about that again. He took a long breath and then kissed the top of her head again, "You'll be save at the penthouse though. Security is rather good, and no one will be getting in unless the guard knows about it."

She smiled feeling his, now what has become familiar, arms around her. "Thank you, she said lightly laying her head back against his chest. "I'm actually looking forward to it, she stated trying to convince herself change was good, a new step forward. She smiled as her hands covered his arms petting them lightly with her thumbs.

"I just have my suitcase and lap top to bring with us tonite, i think the rest i can live without for a couple days until the movers bring it. I'm quite tired, and you must be too, are you ready to go?"

Xavier nodded softly to the statements. Really the rest of this was stuff that could be left here for a little while at least. He kissed the top of her head again, nodding again at the statement that they were both probably tired, "Indeed." He slowly took a step away from her before he looked down and then picked up the box of DVDs, "Yeah. I'm a bit tired, I have to admit. I think I'll carry these with me to save the movers a bit of trouble, and also make sure that none of them 'fall off the back of the truck'." He smiled softly at her, "If you need me to carry something else, I might be able to."

She smiled at him as she grabbed the suitcase and her lap top. "No, i think we're ok, i'll just hail a cab."
She let Xavier exit her dwelling first just in case, and she walked slowly after him.
Turning and stepping out on the curb she hailed a cab.

The drive seemed to fly by as she reveled in the way Xavier's thigh felt pressed up against hers. Soon they were at the door. Xavier did some intense whispering to the doorman who looked quite intimidated nodding and bowing to her as they walked in. He made a stop at the guard desk as well. She was asked to stand for a picture and body scan for security.

As they made their way to the elevator, she nudged him "You didn't tell me you were a celebrity" she laughed a little as she laid her head on his arm and planted a light kiss on his shoulder.

As they walked into the Penthouse her eyes went wide open, his dining room was the size of her entire apartment. He had the whole bloody floor. They could go days without seeing each other. Not that she would wish that, "oh no Xavier.. this is way to much i ..oh god.."

Xavier put the box of movies down and slipped his hands into his pockets as he smiled, looked around for a few more moments, smiling softly before he looked over at Raven. He looked at her for a few more moments, smiling softly, "It should be big enough for you, right?" He looked over back to the rest of this home for a few more moments and then yawned softly before looking back to Raven again, "I hope you have enough space here to be comfortable."

"oh god Xavier its absolutely stunning, you must think me foolish for making such a big deal over my little apartment. This is way to much, and you have it decorated so divinely. Xavier, thats.. no.. oh my god thats an original Da Vinci. Did you know her?"

Raven was absolutely fascinated with his penthouse. Artworks from artists that were considered the greats, sculptures, a library of books so vast hers looked like a mere hobby. She wondered around the place in absolute glory, she felt like she was in a museum yet at the same time felt so at home.

She turned around and slid her arms through his wrapping them around him. "I cannot thank you enough for all you've done for me, this is way to much, i feel like such a charity case, you have to allow me to do something, you won't except money, i can't cook for you, obviously you have someone that comes in an cleans. I'm at a complete loss Xavier, yet at the same time, I've never been in such a place that felt like home." With those words she buried her head in his chest, her heart was racing so quickly from the closeness of him.

Xavier blinked for a moment as he looked at the artwork. It was just another of the many pieces that he had collected over the years. He shrugged softly and then looked over to Raven who was wandering around, acting like she was in some kind of daze. She reminded him of a kid in a candy store. He smiled, keeping his hands in his pockets, shaking his head a bit. He then raised an eyebrow as suddenly she had rushed over to him, wrapping her arms around him and saying things about how she was going to need to come up with some way of paying him. He blinked and then slowly wrapped his arms around her, patting her back softly.

He looked up for a few more moments and then spoke softly, "You really don't need to worry about paying me, you know. This place is very lonely without anyone else in it. Simply having your company here will be quite enough for me." He smiled and slowly ran his hand up and down her back.

He closed his eyes slowly, enjoying the closeness, "As for my various collections, which you seemed to be admiring, I collect things that are appealing to my eye. I also have a collection of Asian jade figurines, and a collection of various bladed weapons." He smiled softly, "Really, I'm just glad that you like it here."

"I do, and i think that we shall be good ..roommates..as we get to know each other. The closeness to him allowed her hormones to do some dancing of their own. Her stomach was full of butterflies. She stepped back from him a little flushed, so which one is my room? "

Xavier smiled softly as he looked at her, doing his best to keep his hormones in check as well. He looked over his shoulder to a door and then spoke softly, "Unfortunately there isn't a room for you yet, which means you'll have to take mine until we can get your bed in here. I will do the honorable thing and sleep on the couch tonight." He smiled softly at her before slipping his hands back into his pockets like he had before she had decided to hug him, "Do you agree with this?"

"I don't want to argue with Xavier, but you know that i would be more then willing to take the couch. I am smaller and would sleep ok anywhere. You on the other hand may sleep better if you know I'm safely in your room. Whatever you say, i will abide by, this time." She was a moment away from offering to sleep in the same bed as him, but knew that it would be too much for her to handle.

She found herself oddly missing the embrace of his arms. But decided that clearing her head was best. She walked toward the balcony doors, turning to look at him watching her, "is it ok if go outside?"

Xavier looked at her for a few more moments as she headed to the balcony. He shrugged softly, "I'm not sure why you are asking me. This is just as much your home as it is mine now. You can do whatever you want while you are here." He blinked slowly and then spoke up again, "Well, there are exceptions of course. I'd prefer that you not have any visitors during the hours when I am sleeping." He shrugged softly and then looked up at the ceiling, "I doubt that I'll have any visitors."

He then slowly walked towards the balcony, "I would also appreciate it if you didn't bring home any strange men, especially with intentions of taking them to bed here." He kept his hands in his pockets, "As much as I'd like to I can't stop you from being interested in other males if you find yourself in that position, I'd just like it if you didn't bring them here." He looked over to her and smiled softly, "Because I like equality, I will also adhere to this rule."

He looked out at the balcony, "Would you like to set any ground rules?"

She opened the doors to his balcony and stepped out into the midmorning air. The view was even as beautiful if not more then the one she had just left. "In case you hadn't noticed" she said with a smile turning back to look at him, "Men find me a bit too much to handle. There won't be any that are allowed with in breathing distance without my claws coming out and threating their existence as men." She laughed again and her features softened. "Besides..I am kinda dating this tall dark mysterious guy, after one failed date" she added, "we moved in together how crazy is that." she smiled up at him.

"Honestly, I'm glad that you brought it up about the ground rules. If for whatever reason, we find that we are completely incompatible and never make it past the dating stage. I'll find a place to live. The thought at this moment of another woman being in your arms causes this dropping inside of me that i can't quite explain, and i don't think that I'm ready just yet to understand. But if i ever found myself interested in someone else i would move out before i even began to think of it."

"the good news is i don't have to worry about you eating my mac and cheese" she joked trying to cover the revealing statement she had previously made. She had been completely and openly honest with him about what was going through her mind and heart.

Xavier smiled softly as he admired the view from just within the balcony, "No. You don't. I can think of quite a few things that I would like to eat a whole lot more than macaroni and cheese." He smirked softly at her, wondering if she would catch the not so subtle innuendo, crossing his arms over his chest, "Well. As long as you are happy with this place." He smiled and then slowly turned to head back into his home.

Raven smiled catching and choosing to ignore the subtle reference. Having the balcony to herself she stared at the view. He'd chosen not to comment on the reference she made to her emotions. Xavier seemed to surprise her at ever turn. She smiled crossing her arms over her chest finding that she missed his.

Before to long she closed the doors and came inside, finding him sprawled out on the couch she smiled as he seemed to flip through channels. "I guess I'll go take a shower, and go to bed. Its been a long day. Besides the sooner i go to sleep, the sooner our date tomorrow will come she said placing some excitement into her voice. She was curious to see what he would come up with for their date.
She walked over to him and kissed him lightly on his forehead, "night Xavier"she said almost sadly.

Xavier looked up to her for a moment when she had come in and had placed the controller down quickly when she had walked over to him, kissing him on the forehead. He listened to the thing that she had to say carefully and then slowly began to sit up. He thought about it for a moment and then decided to try for a lame line that he had heard during a soap opera. He smiled softly, "Well, we could save water by showering together. We could think about it as saving the environment." He smirked softly and then looked over at the television, "But I can understand why you aren't going to say yes to that. It would be a bit fast."

He picked up the controller and then pressed a button which caused the TV to go blank and silent. He looked at it for a moment before pushing himself to his feet and looking over to the woman, "More seriously, my room sometimes gets cold. If you would like for me to sleep in the bed with you to share body warmth, I am willing to do so."

She smiled. "If you fear its too cold Xavier, I'll sleep on the couch." she smirked lightly avoiding his statement entirely. It wasn't so much that she didn't trust him anymore, as she was starting to doubt herself. Having him so close as he was this very moment would driver her insane. Her heart raced uncontrollably.

"If you're not tired we could play a game or something when I'm out of the shower" she stated stepping backwards toward his bedroom. I'm sure I'll find the towels, and i have my own bathroom stuff. Not that yours wouldn't be good enough, but well i don't think you like smelling like strawberries. She was babbling at this point. "um, think of a game or a movie or something, I'll be out in a few minutes" with that she darted into his room shutting the door and leaning against it catching her breath.

Her eyes then caught view of his room, it reminded her of a medieval bed chamber. It was absolutely stunning. Going into the bathroom she was even more in awe, the shower was huge, an had a separate jacuzzi tub. Finding the towels. She began to undress. "crap i forgot my bag" Placing his robe around her she darted through the living room, and back into the bedroom as quick as she could.

Raven took a hot shower and basked in the jet heads massaging. She was true to her words coming out smelling like strawberry shampoo. She placed on her slippers, daisy pajama bottoms, and top and her robe.
Stepping back into the living room he glanced up at her "did you decide?"

Xavier had listened carefully to the things that Raven had said. The thought of her naked in his shower was enough to get him excited. He closed his eyes and leaned back in the couch, trying to clear his mind of the images that his imagination was able to produce of Raven in his shower, running her hands over her skin, only covered by the suds from the shower. He closed his eyes letting out a soft growl as he thought about it. As a result of this excitement he had decided that his best option was to spend the rest of his free time coming up with a way of tricking her into some kind of intimate game. She had left him with the choice of what it was that they did for their came after she was done in the shower.

He continued to think for a few more moments, trying to think of any games that would work for this, but he couldn't really think of anything that he would be able to use that could trick her, other than perhaps truth or dare, or poker. He thought about it for a few more moments. Really, the best idea he supposed would be truth or dare. He looked over to the door for a few more moments, waiting for her to come out.

His mind wandered back to the idea of her in his bathroom. He thought about sneaking in there and seeing if she had any spots that she needed help scrubbing. He smirked softly, imagining running his fingers over Raven's body, tickling her, and touching her in ways that would drive her wild. He imagined trying to driver her mad as he traced patterns over her body with featherlight touches, leaving trails of suds behind his fingers whenever he ran over a soaped up area. He smiled softly as he thought about it. That wasn't a bad idea at all.

He blinked as suddenly Raven had come out of his room seeming to be rushing around wearing one of his robes. He looked at her for a moment, thinking that he had caught a few glances of naked skin under the edges of his robe which had been kicked up a bit when she had moved so quickly to get to her bag and gather her clothing. He smirked softly, now finding it quite impossible to get his mind off of slipping in behind her in the shower and showing her what she was doing to him. He then closed his eyes taking a deep breath as the girl vanished again.

He spent a some more time thinking about the woman who was probably only now getting into his shower. He stared silently at his door for a few more moments. He knew that he probably still had time. He could probably still slip in with her and show her his talents in bed. He watched the door for a few more moments before turning his attention back to the space at his feet. He had definitely decided now. He had quickly decided upon the game that they were playing since it was the most logical choice. Raven would be wise on most of the games that he could think of involving intimate situations, and she wasn't likely to play any of those games.

He looked up again when Raven had come back into the room. He smiled softly, looking her over and then spoke softly, "I was originally considering poker, but we have nothing to bet." He looked at her for a few more moments and then looked back to his floor, "I suppose truth or dare would be very much the best game for us to play."

Raven gave him a quixotic look. "I'm not sure thats such a wise idea Xavier, for I'm not likely to take a dare, and I'm too tired to think of many cleaver questions. Perhaps a game of war, or hearts if all you have is cards instead of board games." He almost looked disappointed. "Please be patient" She said softly "In one day you have learned more about me, and made me reveal more about myself, then people that have known me for ten years know. One day we'll play that game."

She was being as honest as she could with him. One day at a time was her thought process. She'd given so much so quickly that it was a bit overwhelming, much more revealing and she'd shrink off into the dark pits some where never to be seen again. For she was certain she'd become a hermit and live in the world of her vampire tales.
