The count down is on again!

*giggles* I think it's too late for that.

and I still have 20 days before I'm allowd to get over excited. I'll never make it *giggles*

Once 7:42 hit, I was thinking about exactly where I will be 4 weeks from that exact moment. For example, four weeks from this minute, I will be about half way to london. :cattail:

OMG I still have so much to do too!

BTW, he still thinks I'm rushing things because of some of the things I want to get accomplished and have ready with in the next week.

lol you can never be too organised, too soon.

If you have everything in order in plenty of time, then it saves you having any panics about whether you're prepared or not because you know you are.

Can't stress that to my man enough.

I can't decide if it's a guy thing or an Irish thing. He's so last minute about everything, it's hard to tell sometimes.

It's a guy thing! Finnaly got my passport and tickets sorted out.
Could be celtic.
So glad your passport and the tickets are sorted out honey!!

Hi Wenchie, your posts makes me smile!!!!

For how many days you goin there?? :)

No the ticker is just for my visit.

Haven't heard from Mcd's Ireland yet. But I'm still hopeful. :)

Oh okay. That's great though. Which part/s will you be visiting?

I still haven't been, but my parents go every so often, and I hear it's a wonderful time.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.:rose:

I won't be venturing out side of Dublin County...I don't think anyway, he's pretty much incharge of where we go and see while I'm there. I have given him a list of things I'd like to see or do as I find out about them, but I restrict it to with in Dublin County, just to be safe.

And thanks, I'm really hoping that it comes thru. :)

25 days OMG!

*deep breaths*

Okay, today's things to do list.

One final baggage check including weighing them and making a list of things I need to buy/pack still

Clean out the van so that there is nothing in there when I leave it

borrow scale from mom to weigh luggage

Draw up next month's budget and get final tally on money I will have for trip.

*deep breaths*

One step at a time....and remember, I'm not allowd to get over excited.

Man is that hard!

If you are a morbid weirdo like me, St. Michan's church is an interesting spot - the crypt houses some knights and a nun and possibly two executed revolutionaries who are sort of mummified by the peculiar atmosphere down there - fingernails and hair still visible, kind of dark and tarry like Tollund man.

The church itself is over 1000 years old. That alone is fairly mindblowing.

Also there's a very impressive bunch of carvings relating to music. Handel was rumored to play there, but it's not true. I guess they wanted something a little less creepy to pull people in.

This, is, of course, lower on the totem pole than screwing like bunnies, but there's a lot to do in Dublin.

I'd make sure to hit up Christchurch Cathedral, Trinity College (book of Kells) cross O'Connell bridge, check out the giant sized (do they eat radioactive feed?) pigeons in St. Stephen's park, knock on Oscar Wilde's door, gawk at the Cuchullain in the GPO, and have a Guiness out of a can, too, which is nothing remotely like the same experience stateside.

Yup, morbid weirdo here too. Crypts are probably one of the most interesting parts of old building, aside from the architecture and stain glass windows.

Christschurch Cathedral is also one of the things on my "oh please can we do this list", but I'll admit that list is growing by the day. But I'm going to let him decide what we do and where we go, except for a few things that I've told him I absolutely have to do. I think he really likes the idea of showing me his town the way he lives in it.

But I'm not big on Guiness, neither is he really, but I'm just not a beer drinker to begin with.

Philistines! The pair of you!:p

*giggles* I know! I have a friend here who told me "HE DOESN'T LIKE GUINESS? HE DOES NOT DESERVE TO LIVE IN DUBLIN!"

*giggles*

I actually crave it about twice a year, how weird is that? But I don't drink more than a couple pints a year really. Which is actually more than him. Jounar calls it "rot shite" *giggles*

Offical word from McD's Ireland....

I'm sorry but (don't you love when they start that way?), we will be unable to assist you in this preposal as our customs laws will not allow for transfur or sponcership.

:(

Now I have to resist shopping and binge eating the rest of the day. :( Maybe my new digi cam and I will go for a long walk

Another week down, and only 3 more to go. (3 weeks and 8 hours to be exact)

I'm really trying hard not to let this McD's thing be such a hard blow, but it really seemed like a dream come true. On the positive side, at least I know that I'm a shoe in if I can get a visa and a work permit. Knowing they want me bad enough to research it has got to mean something.

I think the other thing that's bugging me is my lack of contact with jounar this week. No, it's not unusual, but with this whole McD's thing I'm just bumming and want to talk to him. :( A few text here and there and an IM convo this week has been all we've had.

Besides that, there are still a few details I'd like to have worked out before I leave. I'm really starting to get nervous. But then, I'm getting nervous about a lot of things, giddy has been over run by parinoia this week, and I don't like it!

I may not be able to meet you :(

I can't get more than one day off work that week and that would mean flying out and back in the same day.

I don't mind doing that but the flights are just so expensive I am not sure I can afford it.

I am working on it, I want to meet you, but not sure how to get around this.

:(

While I do hope you can work something out miss shy, please don't strain yourself.

I'm in a much better position now, and more frequent visits will happen. And I'm still optimisitic that something will come thru and I will be able to be there perminitly.

Shame about McD's doll, never mind you might find your dream job while your over there. Hope your shopping spree was satisfactory.:)

This so reminds me of how I was hone when I came out to meet D.

I think its perfectly normal and rest assured the paranoia will be replaced by jubilation and then return to paranoia and or, fear many times before you actually get there! *giggles*

Hope everything else is going according to plan hon :rose:
