The college experience

I played IM hockey and after our games, we'd go to the bar and enjoy a couple of pitchers of beer. One night, my friend Pam and Earl leave together and the group never thinks about it.

The next day, Earl begins to tell me that he had his way with Pam. No intercourse, but 'she' had removed all her clothing and they engaged some heavy petting and oral sex. He bragged that he came on her tits.

That afternoon, I heard Pam's version of the same story. She was very upset and told me that Earl had taken advantage of her, stripped her and jacked off on her.

Unfortunately, I didn't have the maturity to full grasp the situation and I passed this off the "no harm, no foul." I was a shit head. Completely insensitive and fail as her friend. I've regretted this for nearly forty years. If I ever see Pam, I'd apologize and ask her forgiveness.

Best of luck and please keep your eyes open

jeez, that does sound terrible. But it's a good thing that you realized that it was a wrong thing to do. That at least gotta count for something.

Hopefully we're not scaring you with our stories of things that went bad, that is not our intent. Those of us posting have the experience and wisdom to look back on our times and realize, yeah, they were fun but gees, could we have been any more idiotic?

College/university can be a great time, despite the classwork. ;) You'll have a bevy of guys to choose from, some you'll realize almost immediately are assholes and just want to brag while others don't have a clue of where things are and will leave you grumpy.

However, despite your comment about being a good judge of character, it will be at times like these when your mental acuity drops to zero and your hormones take over. To sound like an adult, when you find yourself in those situations, take a second and really think about what's going on. If all you're after is a fling, go for it. Just don't expect much in the way of cuddling from him (or them) and don't be surprised if you're kicked out.

If you're hoping for more, as I said previously, say so. Don't have one expectation while they're thinking of something else. C O M M U N I C A T E.

With my ramblings over, here's an experience I had. It was about 2 AM on a Saturday morning somewhere in a New England state. I had been up since around 6 the previous morning. I was with a small group of people and we were talking about whatever. There was a girl on the other side of the bridge we were standing on (a very small footbridge) and she looked cold so I asked if she was and she nodded.

Being the chivalrous guy I am, I opened my arms and she came over and I held her. Now we were both warm. At some point we were both practically falling asleep so again, being the chivalrous guy I was, escorted her back to her dorm room a short distance away. I waited at the bottom of the stairs to see her safely get back in her room and she asked if I wanted to talk some more.

As it was nearly 24 hours since I had last slept, I misunderstood what she was asking and politely declined in my semi-stupored state. Obviously I kicked myself when I later realized what she was asking but by then it was too late.

So again, to reiterate, C O M M U N I C A T E.

gee, that was helpful! I'll be sure to COMMUNICATE if I'm ever going for anything more. I'm also not looking for just flings. Though I guess I should be since I have severe commitment issue. Seriously, it's bad. Still, I can't bring myself to just flings. I would like someone who would be like me and know it's not a fling but also doesn't expect anything out of it. It's a lot of work for hooking up but I tend to avoid assholes.

Well then, there ya go. If you tell a guy that for the next year (or four) he'll have access to a fuck buddy without the commitment, I'm sure you won't have a problem. In fact, he'll probably be more than happy to indulge you since he gets to help you explore the down and dirty of sex.

I was a virgin when I started college too. That didn't last long. :)

Have fun and use condoms.

at last getting a little hope!

Oh yes! Always have hope! :)

You will have so much fun. Are you staying in a dorm? I made so many friends doing that my first year.

Your first time is going to suck...not sure if this has been mentioned. It gets better though. Don't give up! ;) Actually this can be said about the first semester at college too. Nobody cares if you go to class so you have to make yourself. You will probably feel lonely and get lost. Everything gets better!

I'm glad you brought that up. I wasn't going to say anything, figuring she's heard enough of bad things, but from conversations I've had on the subject, the responses have ranged from, "It was horrible and hurt like crazy!" to, "Meh".

As to the lonely and lost part, I can tell you from my experience as part of a peer group, use the resources at hand. If you're lonely, talk to the peer group (or something similar) just to let things out. If they are anything like me (most likely not, I'm one of a kind :)) they will listen to you without reservation and help you through your time away. If nothing else, you get to vent.

As I said in one of my stories, have fun. You only get to do this once.
