How do YOU like to dress?

I prefer business casual dress for myself daily + a tasteful coloured surf shop shirt for bar or pub wear. I recently was given a nice black wallet, but something like this will replace it in the near future. Dark leather, smaller stitching I think.

There is a gap in men's bags in the few shops I've been to between $40nz polyester and $180 leather. I can choose between accessible storage and well made, but I haven't found one which is both. The trend this year must be for locks, clamps and convoluted buckles.

L dresses professionally at law school. Makeup is fine but takes forever to apply and remove, so I'm happy that she doesn't. By comparison, someone I know chooses to wear makeup and heels daily because the boyfriend prefers it. It might be a confidence thing, but such a hassle!

I do like candy rave girls with bright hair and colour/reflective surfaces/lights, or victorian formal for costume party. I had many piercings myself, but I took them all out. I might consider a tasteful one or two later, but I didn't have them for the right reason the first time around.

Theres an upcoming roller disco in the city, so suits are totally necessary. I love it - spent some summers on blades and BMX with cousins and neighbours. Finally this proficiency will be of more use

Well, I do love my jeans and t shirts, but I'm also working on my more feminine size as I lose weight. I'm about 45 pounds down now, and buying dresses that fit and look good!

I'm 43 years old. For the last 25 years or so (at a wide range of ages -obviously - and weights - from bang-on ideal weight to 50 pounds over and back again, many times) I have worn jeans and t-shirt.

Exceptions to that are -

eating in decent (like with at least one Michelin star) restaurants
weddings
funerals
business meetings

And that lists acccounts for maybe 20 days a year, tops :D

I don't seem to possess the gene that makes people give a shit about what they wear.

I don't really do jeans. I have two pairs. one for my workshop and a pair of hand-me-downs from my daughter, which look ok on me. I prefer skirt suits or if I'm home then silky lounge pants or dresses.

Plus decent foundation garments.

When working, I wear business suits or business casual. In my personal life, I tend toward jeans and blouses or t-shirts. Right now, though, I don't have any jeans that fit and trying to cinch them with a belt makes them all gathered and puckered and ugly. Plus, the one belt I own is almost too big. (Yes, I just slapped myself mentally for being braggy).

Comfort and utility. I wear dress clothes maybe six times a year, max.

I have two t-shirts and two pairs of cotton pants (not jeans, never jeans) that I wear pretty much every single day. Otherwise I'm in pajamas or gym clothes. I love Lululemon, one of the few name brands I'll purposefully seek out. Their quality and fit is second to none.

I love fuzzy socks...when I live in places that require socks and shoes.

I clean up good and I think I look pretty swank when I dress up but, ugh, the bother. Likewise for make up, what a waste of my time.

ETA: My AV is from about six years ago. I still own and wear that bandanna and that fleece top frequently. Yup, not a big clothes shopper. :)

I can't comprehend this. I love my t-shirt and jeans. I have to wear dresser stuff for work (slacks, skirts, dresses) but as soon as I get home it comes off and on go the jeans. There is nothing more comfortable to me than a nice fitted pair of jeans. No sloppy t-shirts though, nicely fitted ones.

I like to see the males in t-shirt and jeans; nicely fitted ones also. Button downs are nice to throw in there too. I don't dress up to the nines very often so I wouldn't expect that from my male. Although a fitted suit can be a total turn on.

To me clothes are all about fit.

I dress feminine. I like soft bright colors, delicate textures and flowing cuts that highlight my figure. If I had a style, it would be casual prep...but I have pieces from all kinds of styles in my closet.

A few examples of things I would wear:

I wear pieces like this that can be mixed and matched with other pieces with interesting textures and feminine colors, making my wardrobe similar enough that many pieces can go with many others. I like to buy many pieces with the same color scheme and many "basics" like tank tops, v-neck sweaters for layering, slacks and jeans. According to how I wear my hair and makeup and what accessories I wear with it, that outfit could be "going to the grocery store" to "going on a date".

Most people do. I find them constricting, though - and I'm not overweight. I want pants I can kick in, run in, jump in, etc. I want to feel as though I am not wearing clothes, as much as possible. My pants are not dress pants, they are very casual, just light cotton vs denim.

Here's a pair of pants that would be "my style":

Replace the heels with skater shoes and the hoochie top combo with a plain T-shirt and that's me. :)

Bwah ha, love it.

As for me, I'm mostly all about comfort these days, but I still clean up all right from time to time.

I entered this thread to ask 'So YC what ya wearin'??' Beat me to it.

Right now I got on my charcoal cargos and green T.

something like this... with my own belt.

A reliable source tells me that green looks really good on me.

I like wearing vibrant colors, and shirts without logos or any stupid remarks.

Blue brings out my eyes, red bring out my beard.

I have 1 pair of shoes, adidas (not counting climbing shoes)

White socks

I find jeans really hard to shop for cause they almost always bite my crotch.

The funniest thing I think I wear are these above the knee shorts. I like them though, they are outdoor shorts made from tough canvas and cannot be destroyed. That is an important element I look for in pants, destructibility, or more accurately the lack their of. Shirts I have given up on, I buy super cheap ones when on sale.

For a while now I have been meaning to acquire professional clothes, and have been wanting to try the rolled up sleeves thing, once I get something that has sleeves.

I like to wear jeans and really frilly, girly tops or plain v necks.

Anything too close to my throat makes me feel like I'm going to choke.

And ballerina flats or kitten heel peep toes are my go-to shoe.

It's not that I loathe them, the patty-annes I have actually manage to make my arse look cute. It's just I prefer wearing proper clothes. Ones which take time to put on and almost as long to take off.

It's nothing to do with comfort.

I LOVE fuzzy socks!

Well I love socks in general, but fuzzy even better. I have over 100 pairs of sock. Holidays, cartoons, goofy, fuzzy, lotain infused, and some solid black and solid white.

which is really funny considering how much I would rather be nude than wear anything.

I have extremely sensitive skin so cannot wear alot of fabrics without feeling like my skin is burning. So I usually tend to wear alot of loose dresses and skirts with singlet type tops.

How do YOU like to dress?

I like to dress like a ho. LOL I just have no where to go that such clothing is appropriate.

How I like to dress is probably something elegant and befitting of a dinner party... Love the process of a prim young lady being corrupted... or being exposed for the slut inside...

But, just like FF, I have nowhere to go either to be dressed up like that. =\
