It looks like Dreamworks (Spielberg, Giffen and Kratzenburg) is looking at some Bollywood backing, others maybe doing test runs.

Baz Luhrmann is just crazy. He already did Strictly Ballroom. I think Bollywood borrowed from him. He's so far over the top.

No, I've seen some Bollywood movies from as far as the 70's. They've been extravagant and glamorous before Baz Luhrmann was even born. Moulin Rouge was influenced by Bollywood, I believe the song Hindi Sad Diamonds remixes a Bollywood song..

Yep, have 3 pair. A very delicate pair from Nepal, a normal pair from India, and a pair with bells, charms and crystals from here. All were gifts.
I usually only wear one at a time unless I am dancing, and always on my left ankle. You reminded me so I just put one on right now.
Here I can borrow Bollywood movies at our local library or get them from Netflicks.

I think Disney Channel is just expanding on it's multi-culturalism campaign. They've also got a "filler" series about how different countries prepare food items -- i.e. Spinach in five different languages, including "Disney Channel India."
I just don't know how the plot justifies a trip to India -- the trip to Spain in Cheetah Girls 2 involved a contest, IIRC.

Actually, that whole movie is richly picturised. It's based on a Bengali classic book.

Nah. This woman is the courtesan who falls for the man in white. The protag, Devdas, has lost the woman he loved (in the song that you posted earlier, where she is getting married to someone else). So, he comes to this courtesan's place, but cannot forget his love. From imdb: "Strange was the fate of Devdas. Intensely loved by two women, who were never meant to be his. One whom he could never love and one whom he could never stop loving..."It's a nice movie. Should be seen if only for the sets and the grandeur.
Anyway, in this song, the courtesan and the protag meet for the first time.
