graceanne said:*great big hugs for brioche* I'm sorry you're having such a crappy time. Wanna cookie?
As for my bitch:
IT IS FUCKING 84 DEGREES HERE.
You folks who live in Arizona and New Mexico are CRAZY.
Fucking weather.
edited to add: Oh, and D (my three year old) burned the shit out of his foot last night. I was making the kids a cup o' noodles and he grabbed it off the counter and spilled it on his foot. I did all the stuff you do for burns (cold water, aloe vera gel, etc), and it didn't seem to be blistering, so I decided to wait till today and just take him to his doctor. This morning it was swollen and blistered, so I made him an appointment. Evidently I should have taken him to the ER. But he's already on antibiotics for an abcess that was on his foot, so they gave me a script for some special burn ointment, and showed me how to wrap it (evidently I was wrapping it too tightly), and told me to try and keep it elevated. They also said that if shows any sign of infection to bring him RIGHT in. So now I get to spend the next ten days trying to keep a hyperactive 3 year old calm. Joy.
brioche said:I wanna cookie. In fact I want three. And if the stuff they gave you is prescription silver something or other (sulfanamide?), that stuff rocks. I got some of that for my chemical burn (my armpits DO NOT like depilatories = 2nd degree chem burns) and it just whisked them away. It was awesome. I used for burns for ages after that, until the silver started to separate from it. I was working an a bakery at the time. It was more a cream though, so maybe not. I think it was a bit pricey. But then, it was also a "a little dab'll do ya" cream.
graceanne said:*three cookies for brioche*
That sounds right. It's a cream, and when I spilled scalding water on my boobs it's what was given me. But D's insurance covers it.

graceanne said:Ok, this isn't necessarily a bitch. Well, maybe a bit of one, but it's more a 'i cannot believe this' type thing. Last Saturday I noticed Iw as getting a rash on my left arm. When it was still there on Monday I called my uncle (a nurse practioner and my pcp) and made an appointment for this morning to see him. Guess what? I'm allergic to the SUN! I mean how in the world can you be allergic to the sun? Isn't that kinda like being allergic to water or air? I'm frankly flabbergasted.

Call them "silver highlights" I do!
I've had them since well before I was 30. I blame my first husband, natch.

leeroy jenkins said:So I was getting ready for the munch and actually looked at myself in the mirror, I find some gray hair. I am much to young to start having that problem people like our Gracie are supposed to get them before me. Yes its a real superficial bitch but come on now 30 is much to young to feel this damn old, as Garth once said.
leeroy jenkins said:. . . people like our Gracie are supposed to get them before me. . .
graceanne said:hey!
Although I do have a few silver hairs. My cousin, Katie, was nearly grey at 18. Grey hair isn't a matter of stress or necessarily age. It's a genetic thing.
leeroy jenkins said:Don't get all upset, I just meant if grey hair is from stress then you should have more then I, you have kids and if that isn't a stressor then what is.

shy slave said:Grey Hair
In the past few years I have seen a few around my cunt, but I shave them off so no-one knows.
Since Robert died, I have not been dying my hair in the same way (he always dyed it for me, Andante tried to help once.....) and as the dye grows out there is ALOT of grey.
I mean strand after strand after strand.
They don't all crinkle like grey hair, but they are still there.
Its just not fair, I am too young to go grey and I don't want to pay to have it dyed professionally but home dyes without help are a fucking nightmare
*sob*

FurryFury said:I've been very sick today. I've had three hours of the most intense pain I've ever felt and it was only getting stronger. I actually asked my husband to take me to the emergency room which if you know me you'll know is about as likely as well, it's not likely. Just as we got there the horrible pains subsided and we went home. Now I'm hoping the drugs help and I won't throw up anymore and that the worst than labor pain doesn't return. It's a damned good thing I touch type or I couldn't be doing this post at all.
