I have the kind of face that only looks acceptable in a few styles of frames.
I usually pick out 6, let the lady narrow it down to 2, then wait until my optometrist comes in and have him pick. Unless my sister is there, in which case she does it all.
It's worked well so far.

I know what you mean, it's kind of hard to tell what looks good when your eyes are dialated and shit!

I HATE that! I let my son pick. He has really good taste that way.

Oh, he only dilates them once in a while, I just prefer to have someone else decide.

I take the eye drops badly. In fact I took them so badly the first time he asked if I had ever had eyedrops before. It was rather spectacular, I managed to not only make him miss my eye completely but he slipped back and dropped the drops IIRC. It ran down the side of my face. Every time I inform him that they really sting, and that the second ones sting even worse.
So he only dilates them when he really has to.

The person who scanned the stuff I'm printing out for the literacy program I'm starting seems to have be visualy impaired. In a big way.

Occasionally the paper was put on the scanner diagonally.

So I only get 2/3 of it.

Ok - I've been wearing glasses since I was ten. I have a lazy eye so my right eye (the lazy one) is twice as bad as the left one. I've also been wearing bifocals since I was 14 - wearing bifocals does not make you old. My right eye is about 20/350 and my left is 20/200ish.

Anyway, today B was scheduled to have her teeth taken care of. Because she's so young, they just made an appointment in the hospital so they could just put her under and do it all at once. My sister was supposed to come over here and watch my son, but at the last minute she called and asked me to bring him to her house. He wasn't ready to go anywhere. So I was running SERIOUSLY late. I dropped the girls (A and her best friend) off at my best friends house, then ran D over to my sisters, and SPED to the hospital. Everything went well - they had to pull four and give three other root canals. But I'm wiped. The chairs and couches they have their are EVIL. I'm sure a sadist thought them up. I keep getting these sharp pains through my back and chest, and I just wanna go to sleep. *whiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeee*

As for the bribe, I'm hoping to be in Missouri (for real) over mother's day weekend. Might not happen, though. But that's when my grandma's memorial is gonna be. I expect my cookies to be waiting at the airport.

Does anyone know of a ring cereal (Cheerios, Fruit Loops, etc) that has no trace of nuts in it? I need them for a craft. I really don't want to shell out for the health food stuff to glue it on to paper just because two kids are allergic to nuts. I will if I have to, but come on.

I don't want to spend a lot of time in cereal aisles, but if you could just check the boxes in your houses...

Why not ask the parents? If they trust a certain cereal thats a good shape for the craft activity then the child is safe, you are covered and the parents are happy. Hey...... get the parents to supply it for the entire class after all you have been so considerate

Ohh one of these guess what, tomato is a fruit kind of things .

Pity though it doesn't change the fact that peanuts contain the same major allergenic proteins (called Ara h 1, 2, and 3) as tree nuts .

"These proteins are the leading cause of anaphylaxis, the most severe and potentially life threatening allergic reaction, and the main cause of death from food allergy in the US and other Western nations."
