The best of Literotica

You know it gets a little tiresome to hear that most of the stories here are trash--when no one has read even a tiny percentage of the stories posted to Lit. I've read a lot of very good stories here, and I don't read many of the stories at all. It would be nice to concentrate on the good writing on this Web site--as this thread seems to be asking--rather than running down each other's work. We could let the anonymous vote zappers--the ones who don't even attempt to write--carry that load for us.

Merci beaucoup Ravenfox -- the lady who taught me that audio smut is awesome (although I actually like the talking parts more than the sex parts...the British prude in me?!).

And thank you, sr71plt (never thought I'd say that, lol). Fittingly, my newest work is actually in the romance category, so yes...less sex. More commercial dialogue-y type stuff. The novel I used to have on here (and that is currently on sub) was quite different in tone -- lots more sex (including age play and knives). I'm still finding my happy medium between all these things.

ETA -- one of my favourites here is en_extase's An Unlikely Encounter. Svenjolly has a fab space opera about to hit the New Stories page too (I'm biased there because I edited it, but the way it has progressed this past year is amazing and I'm really excited about it).

:eek::eek: How did I miss this?

I'd like to thank the Academy (SR71), the lady with the sexy voice (RavenFox), and of course my sexy sultry co-writer (SSS) for the honorable mention.

By the way, for those that don't know, Sweetsubsarah, is a good writer in her own right. Her How To on anal sex is a classic.

In all seriousness, I feel for your woman. I, too, care about quality prose and, no disrespect to anyone at AH (half of whom I've yet to read), the prose I've found at Lit ranges from adequate to horrible. And sadly for me, the writers whose ideas most arouse me are not the better word-smiths.

I agree with this. The confluence of ideas that arouse and having the prose to carry it... is rarer. For Lit, I'm more willing to go with the former rather than the latter.

It can be hard to balance the two as well. I used to focus on the descriptive smuttiness more, but no plot; now I'm interested in plot, but am finding myself challenged to get the smut hot enough.

If I worked on it more maybe it would get better, but I just kind of write and put stuff out there with not too much editing, to keep it fun and not work. Props to those writers who put the effort in to making their stories literarily and smuttily satisfying.

The best story I have read on Lit (my own not included ;) ) is "Rich Bitch" by usm1carbine. The story is here: http://www.literotica.com/s/rich-bitch-ch-1 . I don't know if she likes nonconsent stories, but it's pretty vanilla on the nonconsent scale.

There are many others I've read that were good but I either can't remember them right now, or they probably aren't stories worth mentioning based on her preferred genres.
