Personally, I think they should get an Austalian Shepard. Highly energetic, intellegent and hypoallergenic too!

Malia is allergic.... so they are actually going to have to get a haired dog instead of a furred on..... jack russells, min-pins, anything that they mix with a poodle... something about the mixes with the poodle make them not shed.

They are a beautiful family alright, and loving, but you insult them by comparing them to the Kennedys in that latter regard. The news media stayed out of JFK's private life while he was alive, but he has come to be known as a world-class philanderer since them.

That's true, but I think you would find that with all presidents. There is a famous photo of RR smooching his wife. Actions speak a lot louder than photo ops.

But, come on gang, let's not make this family into idols. It's like the people I see trying out fundamental Christianity--they build up these unattainable goals and then swing way to the other side when reality doesn't stand up to the dream. (Exactly what happened with JFK's family.)

It's enough if he's a president who can close on social and economic reform and the family doesn't let it all go to their head (like making a financially unwritten run on Neiman Marcus for the whole family).

Laura and the girls looked just fine. And George too--when he was asleep.

All of that visual famliness can get a little fake and sacchrine, I think. Again, the JFK family. JFK was hardly a faithful family man, and Jackie had her agenda for that sort of marriage too.
