I feel like you're doing my job, Tx, but thanks. :)

Just helping out while I'm home. Anyway, I've been around a while so I'm used to helping Ogg as much as possible. You'll get the hang of it. It's a cross between cheer leading and ass kicking. ;)

Not often a contest opens on a Friday, usually seems to have been on a Sunday lately. Good luck all and hold on tight, the roller coaster is about to take off.

I've got my candy :heart:s ready and the :rose:es and of course all the :devil:ish :kiss:es needed for this Romantic contest.

Good luck everyone!

Get those edits in and those submission forms ready. :) Good luck everybody.

I think I have mine restructured properly, just need to fix the ending. I tried to do something a little different, which rarely seems to go over, but hey, it was fun to write.

Help! Help! Help!

Okay, got that Ignore feature figured out. Very happy about that.

This is my first contest idea. Got my story idea. 4,830 words written and I know what still needs to happen. My partner is helping with the edits, which is nice.

Now I just need to kick my own ass to finish it. (But no, I spent my free time today working on a SciFi story. Why? No clue.)

How "Romance" does a story need to be to go into "Romance"? It's not qualified to have Fabio on the cover if it were in print or any thing. I've got a pretty standard boy-girl love story, with an age difference that isn't big enough to qualify for Mature, but some roadblocks that need to be overcome before the happy ever after. Zero kink.

Erotic Couplings? Romance? How does one decide these things?

Oh yeah, if you have time to reply, please include the ass kicking. Thanks.

Question number one, since many authors seem to have a far different opinion of the mature category than the readers:

How much is the gap? The sweet zone is around 15 years - the closer the younger character is to 18 the better - but you can push those bars. I've had stories where the older character is in the low 30s do well in the category.

I think the stories are ready to post--my entry is marked approved and I could cut-and-paste the URL from my submissions page and get onto the site.

Again, best of luck to all.

I'll load up Excel and start tracking tomorrow evening. This is the one contest I haven't tracked previously, so it will complete at least one comparative data set I need.

Most likely, I'll only be tracking score and votes for most of the contest. I'll check the other stats at various points when I have spare time ( and at the end of the contest )

Views, comments, and favorites settle into near final numbers within 48 hours of posting, and I don't have a change column for those stats anyway, so daily updates really just eats my time and doesn't provide anything useful :p The final numbers are the ones that are actually useful for someone to look at when comparing the performance of categories, genres, story length, etc.

Mine is approved but not posted yet. Will probably have a noon posting today; maybe it will post then. Doesn't make a lot of difference to me, just in for the fun.
Bes of luck all

Hmmm. Beta reader does not like the V-Day story at all, which actually doesn't surprise me. He's a tough nut. Still I feel like something is there and I knew it needed tweaking. Hmmm. Further thought is necessary. Or not; I can always work on R&B.

Yep, my first story is up. It's non-erotic. I'll probably submit a second story on Saturday or Sunday. I think it will be in Loving wives or erotic couples. Good luck all.

Can anyone clear up for me the system Lit uses to post stories?

I know there's usually two waves of postings; one late at night, and the other in the morning. Anyone know what time in the morning and why the night time postings seem to differ?

Not really. They seem do it when/as they can. But generally a few stories get put up sometime after midnight U.S. East Coast time, then taken down and a longer list put up up to four hours later. Then sometimes more are slipped in haphazardly on the list as late as the following afternoon U.S. East Coast time.

The whole posting business is truly inscrutable. I've given up trying to decipher the process. It's enough that my story eventually makes it onto the "New" list.

Hurray!

Just checked and my V-day story posted overnight and is listed among the contest entries. Apparently, I can follow directions.

So far, I have 3 nice comments, 3000+ views, 120+ votes, and a score commensurate with my developing writing skill. I couldn't be happier! :D

Makes me antsy to get into the fray. But I'm hoping (can always hope even though I know it won't work) that the trolling will get tired on the first wave of stories.

Kind of bummed that my possible story won't work, although my beta reader gave me an idea, so maybe. Major factor is always time...

They're breaking from the starting gate, and the commentators are active. Now we'll see whether it's better to post early or post late.
