The Authors' Hangout National Nude Day Support Thread

Great Joy

Congratulations to ShyChi and Cedar Needle and to all other Nude Day participants, and thanks to everyone who voted for Daniella. It's nice that people got beyond the BDSM tag and salacious title. It was huge fun and a privilege to be part a contest crammed with such richly varied and craftily written stories. Now if Summer Lovin' can be half as much fun...

Big hello to mia_erotica, whose support as always was invaluable. Fox Hunt continues to rock.

Oh yes - and thanks to James Scouries for relentlessly promoting my story on the thread. You can't buy publicity like that.

Manu and I would like to thank all the authors who submitted during this special contest, and all the other this special for that matter! We've tallied the reader's votes, and are happy to announce the winners of this year's Nude Day Erotic Story contestL

First Place ($150 Cash Prize Winner):
Halley by ShyChiWriter

Second Place ($100 Cash Prize Winner):
Embracing Duality by Cedar_Needle

Third Place ($75 Cash Prize Winner):
Daniella Defiled by Jaymal

Thanks again to everyone who voted, submitted, or was involved in Literotica in any way. You are all awesome!

Congratulations

To The Official Winners!

Just want to add my congrats to all the winners... The top 3 all deserved it. As for the rest of the writers.... we were all winners. There were some truly great stories entered and it was a joy to be listed in the same group as you.

I wish that I could claim the last place award but alas... I simply had a few too many 5 bombs (and I thank those of you who honestly liked what I wrote).

There is one true consolation for me... at least I am not mentioned in any airhead awards.

It was truly a pleasure to get to know some of you and to have been included in the ranks of those works.

QUOTE darkboy Boobs and Boners wasn't even in the contest.

No, wrong again darkboy! klxro was invited to enter the contest by mr scouries on post #284 on this very thread. A.I.R. subsequently received an entry form and of course the Association was delighted to welcome one of LITEROTICA’S MOST FAVORITE authors.

That perhaps sums up the difference between the PALACE and A.I.R.. LAUREL readily accepts entries from rule breakers and cheats (as long as they’re from her friends) while rejecting stories from the most popular authors. Then massages the voting numbers...

A.I.R. on the other hand welcomes all authors and lets the reading public decide.

We believe it’s simply the better and fairer way...

QUOTE L&M Well 14 out of 84 isn't bad. Thanks for doing up those rankings. I somehow managed the most public comments and votes in the contest, from what I can tell, so that's a nice bonus. I had a lot of fun in this contest. Maybe I'll enter another one in the future.

QUOTE darkboy The voting patterns of Incest/Taboo make it a difficult category to place in the top 3, but there are other rewards beyond the monetary, and you have those by the bucket load

Yes there are!

First off I’d like to thank darkboy for his efforts to show us the scores of the various stories. As many of you know ScouriesWorld, let by the brilliant james r sccouries, has been campaigning for years to have the palace provide final results for all entries at the end of each contest. We’ve asked the QUEEN :cattail: repeatedly to simply show the final “after sweep” score and the number of votes it was based on, and the “pre sweeps” score and the number of votes it was based on. Which of course would also give us the number of votes “swept”.

While db’s numbers don’t do it perfectly (he readily admits his reported sweeps number doesn’t catch all the votes swept) they are a step in the right direction.

But wouldn’t it be a hell of a lot easier (and more accurate) if LAUREL:cattail: simply published the results herself. She has the numbers right in front of her!

Is it fair to ask poor old db to do all this work every contest? Okay, it does keep him out of trouble which is good.

So what do his numbers show us anyway? I’ve listed the final numbers he provided – score, votes, votes swept - followed by his next to last numbers.

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out something sneaky was going on.

db’s final 3rd place story, by our young fox, didn’t get listed among the final prize winners. Was this poor lass being punished for winning an A.I.R. AWARD? Did the PALACE, the second they saw the announcement, knock down her score?

The eventual winner, Halley, also jumped over the rule breaking Jaymal’s story at the eleventh hour. And yet neither showed a vote total change. Strange?

My theory is that even the QUEEN :cattail: realized that allowing a chaptered story to win 1st place was too much to stomach even for AHers. Even though the toadies continued to support him as he faced the charges levied against him, everyone who read the two Daniella stories knew deep down in their hearts that he’d broken the rule.

And what about the eventual winner? 48 votes swept away? Clearly there was MAJOR CHEATING going on around this story. 48 translates to 30% of the total cast for this story (48/163) which percentage wise is higher than any other story in the contest! Given, as db concedes, that many swept votes were missed in his numbers, it may well be that 40-50% of Halleys votes were illegal. Talk about ballot box stuffing! Who was casting these illegal votes? Was the author involved? How many of the 115 votes that slipped through LAUREL’S :cattail: net were also illegal votes? It’s very hard to congratulate someone who’s worked so hard to beat the system!

And what about some of the other top ten stories?

Embracing Duality, while clearly not as bad as the winner, also had 10 votes declared illegal. Out of a very low vote total. How many more made it through?

Flat Chested Jill jumped from 4.65 to 4.72 on the last day – with no change in vote total. How likely is that?

And Almost Caught was caught one hundred and five times! You bad boy!

Can't any of you people play fair?

1 Halley 4.81 115 (48) 4.79 115
2 Embracing Duality 4.78 65 (10) 4.77 65
3 Wild in the Wild 4.78 41 (0) 4.61 41
4 Daniella Defiled 4.74 62 (2) 4.81 62
5 Flat Chested Jill 4.72 125 (5) 4.65 125
6 Maybe She'll Say Yes 4.70 317 (64) 4.69 317
7 Almost Caught! 4.68 299 (105) 4.68 299
8 Consulting Trip Surprise 4.68 245 (19) 4.67 245
9 Grandpa's Nude Day: Past and Present 4.67 314 (6) 4.67 314

And that ladies and gentlemen is why the ASSOCIATION of INDEPENDENT READERS was born. The LITEROTICA reading public had simply given up on the administration’s ability to run fair contests.

So we’ll continue to name the real winners, the ones selected by the readers and not the ones pulled out of some toadies hat.

Let’s hope everyone is happy...

Since there is no such thing as the ASSOCIATION of INDEPENDENT READERS (A.I.R.) associated with or from Lit, except in scouries head, it can't sanction anything but the usual hot air.

Since scouries and company can't win a contest, he makes up his own list of winners. For the real winners, see the awards Forum for the official winners thread.

Congratulations!

I wanted to offer my congratulations to all the writers who had the courage to enter this contest and lay themselves open to some not very nice comments. You ALL are much braver that I am! :)

Well done to the winners, they were very fine stories and worthy to be in the top three.

I was going to comment on some of the rather mean postings here but decided against it.

Quality speaks for itself, and the readers who voted and commented on these fine stories have spoken.

Congratulations once again to everyone who worked hard and submitted their entries.

Scouries/Gabby, I have you on ignore most of the time - for the same reasons I don't listen to Rush Limbaugh, but someone PM'd me about this.

Frankly, I don't take offense at your thinly-veiled accusations because I've seen you raise similar charges toward other writers in the past.

What astonishes me is the way you talk out of both sides of your mouth. Anyone can do a search on Grand_high_poobah posts with 'sweeps' as a keyword and they will find multiple posts complaining about swept votes on Scouries stories, or even including the numbers in the count.

i.e. - this one from May 2, 2009 regarding Charlie's Nake Proposal:

VOTES: 1150+ (this has been achieved in spite of having lost some 500 votes during the contest sweeps)

Seems the pot is calling the kettle a little black. There's a lot more of the same under Gabby or Scouries' posts.

I'm really proud of winning this contest. I'm really proud of Halley. It is a sweet, lovely, well-written story that took a long time to craft. Cedar_Needle's Embracing Duality is a terrific effort and could easily have won. Daniella Defiled was a literate, enthralling, stand-alone story, Almost Caught was so hot, RavenFox's audio tales are SO creative, the list goes on and on and on. I took enough care to write a good story and I was simply lucky enough to win.

The most truly frustrating thing about you is how little you care about other writers. Your bombast is ad hominem ad nauseaum and detracts far too much from what is so often a supportive and caring community of writers and readers.

It’s very hard to congratulate someone who’s worked so hard to beat the system!

The truth is, it is impossible for you to congratulate anyone who isn't you, one of your alts, or someone who hasn't butted heads with you yet.
As I say, I usually have you on 'ignore', but even with the comments that come through that are quoted by others I continually marvel at your stunningly selfish and unfeeling nature.

Shy, you are wasting your time trying to use logic and truth on an egomaniac.

Scouries/Sarahhh, is here for only one reason. He got run/laughed out of the AH several years ago and hates everyone here with a passion that borders on paranoia. His whole purpose is to try and bring the AH down and Lit along with it. The contests are just a way to drive a wedge in every which way he can.

Once you realize that, everything falls into place.

By the way, change the tag line on your Nude day story in your sig to winner and congrats.

ETA: You already did.

Just for the record, I am NOT in any way upset that I didn't place with Wild In The Wild. Laurel and Manu, the site owners, are the ones who tally the votes with whichever system they see fit to use. It's a case of their party, their rules. All we do is bring the entertainment ;)

I am honored to have participated in the contest. I got out of it exactly what I'd hoped to...made some new friends, had a whole lot of fun, and increased my listenership by quite a bit.

Any garbage about my story shooting up to the top three and displacing one of the legitimate winners is just that...garbage! I don't agree, I'm not calling for a recount (can we say hanging chad, President Gore? LOL) and I am satisfied with the officially published contest results.

I truly wish that all nay-sayers, shit-stirrers, and whiners would keep my name and picture out of their posts.

LITEROTICA Contest Rule #10 - Literotica reserves the right to disqualify without notice or explanation any story in which any kind of cheating or vote-tampering is suspected

Dear ShyChiWriter

It wasn’t a thinly-veiled accusation at all. I tried to be very clear in my thinking.

The above quoted rule is a LAUREL rule. Now my good man, if you were the presiding judge of this contest and you found that 30-50% of the votes cast for one story were illegal votes what would you do?

C’mon be honest. I suspect you would utilize Rule #10 as justification for disqualifying the story in question. How could you not?

How can one not suspect “cheating or vote-tampering” given that many bad votes. In fact with that number it’s gone well past the suspicion stage!

And yes I’m sure you’re not happy to be called out on it. But sir, if we don’t start calling out the rule breakers how will we ever have fair contests in the future?

And please don’t feel especially highlighted - you’re just one of many rule breakers in this contest.

And really, it shouldn’t affect you at all. You’ll just pull out another ALT and discard this one that has now been shamed. It won’t be the first time for you (Midwest, sci-fi, quoting old posts at the drop of a hat – duh, who do we know anyone like that?).

QUOTE shy ” The most truly frustrating thing about you is how little you care about other writers. Your bombast is ad hominem ad nauseaum and detracts far too much from what is so often a supportive and caring community of writers and readers.”

Bullshit! mr scouries is a brave crusader, fighting on against this “supportive and caring community” of cheaters and rule breakers.

What you forget mr alt is that there are 30,000+ authors on LIT. And your “supportive and caring community” is doing everything it can to drive them away from the contests.

Because sir, at the end of the day you and all your “supportive and caring community” have to ask yourselves why none of the greats choose to enter stories in contests anymore. Have you ever wondered why? Have you ever asked your smug little self why there are a huge number of LITEROTICANS who don’t find you a “supportive and caring community”?

Think about it...

Grand_High_Poobah is Scouries in a blow up doll suit.

I'll answer this for you scouries. It's the same reason I don't enter as many contests as I used to. I have other writing to do. Writing that pays good money. It takes up time I really don't have to spend on writing for Lit.

How many of your precious top 100 even still write here? Most have moved on to bigger and better things. Most of them write for their own entertainment and have never cared about the contests.

You are so full of shit, your eyes are brown. This so called reasoning is a lot of crap and you know it.

Come back when you can actually make sense with some facts instead of just your opinion.

I didn't win another contest so I'll spend the next three months bitching about it incessantly and making myself look like an even bigger idiot. And I'll claim to make money writing for this site in one sentence and accuse the site owners of cheating in the next, simply because I'm so insecure about my own writing abilities, I have to lash out at others. I'm the king idiot of Literotica and I post these non-sensical posts just to confirm it for everyone.

You could save yourself so much typing by simply saying what you really mean, scouries.

Apt Quote?

'What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach.' - from Cool Hand Luke.

Or maybe that's refusal to be communicated with. Personally, people, I suggest we don't feed the neuroses of certain misguided individuals by engaging with them, because in doing so we become what I believe Alcoholics Anonymous refer to as 'enablers'?

This was a creative, happy contest with many memorable stories being written (or recorded, wink) and promoted. And that's the key thing. Well done naked Literoticans everywhere. Now get down to some Summer Lovin'...

A claimant for Last Place

...

Speaking of which, I have a story for the last place trophy, my 1984 Big Brother-Job Julia Nude Day story has a score of 3.09 with 11 votes.

So far, this is the best claim for the Authors' Hangout National Nude Day 2010 Last Place (tm) Contest.

By my formula: 3.09 x 11 / 25 = 1.3596 or 1.36

It might be difficult to have a score lower than that. Anyone else claim lower than andtheend?

Og

cry baby

I had a 4.31 with 54 votes. And if anyone would like to boost me with some ballot stuffing, I'm all yours. I'd love more readers, commentors, 5-voters. Am a very sensitive artist who desires a sexy and compasssionate audience.

& hi back, Jaymal, and congrats!
