Thanks again to everyone who voted, submitted, or was involved in Literotica in any way. You are all awesome!

I'm just glad I didn't have to pick a winner from this contest, there were so many well written pieces.

Congratulations to all of the winners! I'm excited already at the prospect of doing this again for the Summer Lovin' Contest.

All that's left now is the race for Og's Last Place (tm) Trophy!

Congrats to the winners and all who took part.

Just so someone doesn't miss it, I posted a copy of the real results on his airhead thread. :D

A congratulatory  for all the winners {and the participants, too} from the good little witch.

Congratulations to the winners :D

Here's the tracking database. I took a couple of days off around the 4th, first from laziness and then because my internet went down *laugh*

On the fourth day of the contest, I started tracking votes and views that I could find as well. As soon as I saw a swept vote ( Less votes when I checked than the day before ) I added a column for that.

Last one in the string so far ( Z ) is from a few minutes ago. I'll do one more tonight to try to catch as close of a snapshot of the final sweeps as possible.

Nude Day 2010 Day 1

The three winners remained in the top 10 from debut day, and most of the time, they were all in the top 3 or 5.

Wow! That looks like a lot of work. Interesting, too.

Rest assured that I'll never do a full-blast tracking like that again *laugh* It took over an hour each night the last two weeks, and that was with me remembering what page of each toplist the story should reside on in order to jump directly to it.

When I add the last one tonight, I'll add category to the columns, so people can reference that against the votes and views.

I'll keep track of the thread and add any views reports that are lower than the toplist threshold to the final data track tonight as well.

Well 14 out of 84 isn't bad. Thanks for doing up those rankings. I somehow managed the most public comments and votes in the contest, from what I can tell, so that's a nice bonus. I had a lot of fun in this contest. Maybe I'll enter another one in the future.

You have the most votes, most views, and most public comments. Couple that with a solid score that held up throughout the entire contest, and you're most certainly a winner.

The voting patterns of Incest/Taboo make it a difficult category to place in the top 3, but there are other rewards beyond the monetary, and you have those by the bucket load :D

Congratulations - and now for Last Place

Last Place Contest

Rules for Last Place contest.
****

Order for coming last:

Lowest voted rating for a genuine attempt at a story multiplied by number of votes if less than 25 divided by 25.

So - if rating is 3.00 but only 12 votes the score would be

3.00 x 12 / 25 = 1.44

If rating is 3.00 but more than 25 votes, the rating stays the same.

I suggest ignoring number of reads except as a tie breaker when least number of reads would *win*.
****

Since the 'winner' actually wins nothing, it is pointless to cheat. To enter, all you have to do is declare your rating and votes at the time the real contest is decided.
Participation is entirely voluntary.

Og is banned from entry for life because he finds coming last too easy and is a past multiple winner of last places.

For the last place contest, 1 votes are very valuable and 5s are bombs.

Og (whose decision is final unless you all gang up on me)

I guess that puts to rest any theories of collusion

Great competition.

Halley was my pick from the first read, and Embracing Duality I figured for a top three contender all along. Jaymal's Daniella Defiled was a great read, I figured maybe a top 5, but it surprised me a little scoring so well in a tough category. I thought Consulting Trip Surprise or Built on Lies might beat it out. I should have been checking the scores. Plus, I was still holding out hopes for Wild in the Wild to make a run at it. The first Audio competitor, and a hell of a story.

Darkniciad score tracking was an eye opener. Interesting to see how things were going. I don't know where he gets the patience to make such an effort - but thanks! Hard to believe I had over 100 swept votes. Ouch!

Congratulations to all three, well deserved, winners. Now get back to writing!

The sweeps reports are hardly conclusive -- especially for late entries.

The late entries were still in the "boom" period, gaining votes so fast that you can't see the swept votes from the toplists. Even if you check your own story every few minutes, you still might miss a sweep because a dozen people vote while it's going on.

All I could list was absolutely positive sweeps. Story had X votes last night, but only has ( X - 5 ) tonight. No way of knowing that it actually had ( X + 2 - 7 ) or whatever.

What it all boils down to is that the sweeps really don't change much other than increasing everyone's score -- just like the last contest, Earth Day a year ago, and any that I've tracked with less demanding attention than those.

In the end, the stories that were in the top of the pack remain there, and generally something from the top 10 -- usually the top 5 -- takes all the top 3 places.

This one had some very good showings from surprising categories. Incest/Taboo struggles because of the voting dynamic, but more than one took high position in the rankings. There's also a Gay Male story with strong vote totals, score, and ranking. BDSM is a tough sell in the contests, too. I'll probably dig more into that once I add categories to the final data set this evening.

Congratulations to the winners :D

Darkniciad!

You are awesome man. Thanks for doing this compilation. Very impressive. and a big deserved congratulations to the three winners. The three deserve the accolades but everybody wrote incredible stories across the board. Fantastic contest by everyone!

Written on June 17: I'm so thrilled about the story that came to me and am having more fun writing it than I've had in ages. It already makes me a winner, you know what I mean?

I posted that a month ago, and it still rings true.

I'd like to echo something LitFan said, about what a positive experience this has been. I've heard from so many fellow Lit writers and the experience has been overwhelmingly positive.

I'm still kind of stunned I came in 1st. I knew that Halley was a winner when I wrote it - but merely a winner from a personal level. It was a story written from the heart that meant a lot to me. I was grateful for the chance to share it with folks in this lovely contest. I've always known that getting into the top three is a crapshoot depending on how a story lands, etc., so to make it is a bit of a shock.

A repeat thanks once to all of the authors who commented, pm'd me, or posted something here. Like so many have said, this was a terrific crop of stories this time around and it was a joy to be a part of the mix.

Wow. Just wow. I'm so stunned.

Oik i can't figure out how to talley mine because i have more then 25 votes...Oh and does anyone know why my was like the first sweep? It was the only reason i managed to get over 4.0 but still...my story had 4.10 with 62 votes...

Anything that has 25+ votes doesn't require a formula for the Last Place Award. The actual score is the score for competing for that trophy.

It's only when you have less than 25 that you have to do any math :)

Congratulations to the winners. This was a fun contest. I was a winner just having written so many stories. I'm hoping to write twice as many stories next contest.

Speaking of which, I have a story for the last place trophy, my 1984 Big Brother-Job Julia Nude Day story has a score of 3.09 with 11 votes.

Congrats to the winners. The last sweep reduced my total votes by seven, from 44 to 37, and raised my score by over .2, so it is respectable. Not even close to winning and much to high to contend for the coveted Last Place (tm) award.

Added the final data set and inserted the categories, but unfortunately, the toplists where I gather vote counts and views haven't updated since the last data set. That means that I can't get the post-sweep totals for those, because I doubt I'll be up late enough tonight, and by the time I get home from work tomorrow, the data will have changed so much as to be virtually irrelevant.

It likely throws off the rankings, because I believe that a couple of stories with meteoric rises most likely dropped below the 25 vote barrier. One obvious one is up there in the middle of the top 3, which otherwise match the contest announcement.

Anyway, I'm going to try to get a little bit of writing done, because I'm trying to close out a chapter so I can go full force into my two Summer Lovin' stories that I've started :D

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

This contest was something else! The stories entered were fantastic and I count myself lucky and very honored to be in the top 3!

Thank you to all who supported my story!

How do you find out you came in 14th  outside of laboriously writing down the score for all the stories?
