The Authors' Hangout 2011 Halloween Contest Support Thread.

Welcome to the one and only real Literotica Halloween Contest thread!

Regardless of any trolling to the contrary, all categories and couplings are perfectly welcome in the contest.

With all db and the dumb Texans thread bumping certain readers seem to have become confused (how could they not reading their drivel!). To help clarify I’ll again post the rules for the A.I.R. section of the contest (as I did previouusly in post#3).

Rules for the A.I.R Contest
(which is run in parallel with the LITEROTICA one of the same name are as follows:

Halloween 2011
themes: scary stuff, costumes, Halloween traditions (trick-or-treating, etc.), etc.

starts: October 1
closes: October 22
winners announced: October 29
story length: Minimum 7,000 words, maximum 12,000 words
erotic content: A minimum of three (3) well described penile/vaginal encounters
voting: To be considered for a prize a minimum of 200 non family member votes must bee cast
entries: Each author is allowed only two (2) entries
theme: Stories will be rejected if the minimum theme requirement is not met (LAUREL will adjudicate )
other: Voting and comments must be turned on.

I recommend that you pay close attention to the advice some of the greats drop in and give. Especially enlightening are the views and opinions of writers who are TOP TEN “Most Favorited” or those who are members of the 1000+ VOTE CLUB and/or 100+ COMMENT CLUB. It’s these authors whose works have stood the test of time.

Please do not enter stories in any of the following categories – they’ve been excluded from this contest : Non Human, Sci-Fi, Non Erotic, BDSM, Gay and Romance.

If you really want your writing to improve, critics will be a factor. Entering a themed Literotica/A.I.R. contest is one of the easier ways to get noticed.

Case in point.

The above post ( if you are new enough not to have placed the poster on ignore ) has nothing to do with the Literotica Halloween Contest.

All so called "rules" listed there are irrelevant. The official rules of the real contest are right HERE

Hmm, I've got my nasty story ready. It's already successfully traumatised people on another board I hang out.

Now I'm trying to find a nicer story that actually has a chance of winning. Nope, nothing suitable sitting in my almost-complete pile. I really should let my protagonists live sometimes...

*laugh* Survival is hardly a requirement for winning in this contest. I've seen any number of really dark and evil tales take the top 3 spots.

It's been a while since a story from the Erotic Horror cat has placed in this competition. None from the last two at least, I think.

Unfortunately, having to continue to feed the machine to get what I need from Literotica, I'll be posting several stories in the Halloween contest.

This is a fun contest. I can't wait to read the stories.

Sugary Comfort, using sources like those can help you make your story more believable. Did you get a chance to watch "A Gifted Man" on CBS last night? It shows promise. What a way to humble a skeptic/scientist/doctor and "awaken" him to his spiritual gifts. For yourself, if you've never done so, I'd suggest checking out Lisa Williams. She's incredible and so real. I think she's still on the Lifetime network.

Earthbounds CAN be forceful, especially if they have a good supply of energy to draw from, and were that way in life. Just stay within Lit's guidelines (as there is an entire category of Non-Consent/Reluctance) and you should be okay.

My story is heading into the familiar spirit/ghost territory too, despite my best efforts to keep it from doing so. I don't always get a choice and need to just go with it if I'm to get any sleep at night.

If you need any real-time references for your story, I might be able to help. :)

I don't watch much TV so no, I didn't see the show you spoke of. And I don't have cable, but I've heard of Lisa Williams.

I've had my fair share of a few creepy things with ghosts (yes I believe in them) so it's not hard to put something on paper (or in this case a Word document). My story, though...well, it's hard to explain. There's a ghost, yes, but the sex happens between two humans and the ghost isn't, like, affecting people's moods or anything.

There will be a spell worked on Halloween, though, and at that time there will be two ghosts. Though I think one would more be considered a soul than a ghost. It's all how you view it.

And I'll be back at some point to ask whether the story should be categorized as Non-Consent/Reluctance or Erotic Horror. Course, I'm leaning more towards the first one because I'm not good at freaking people out and I doubt this story will have anyone's skin crawling. I usually only freak people out by telling them horrible stories like castration stories to guys. I do enjoy telling those because the look on the guys' faces is priceless! Hahaha!

Edit: Oh and I did have a co-worker who was telling me stories that were supposed to be true (you just never know). She said her friend was raped by a ghost several times. A few of those times it happened right in front of her kids. Course, even if that was true, to me, that sound more demonic than ghostly.

Sugary Comfort, other people can advise you on the best category for your story. I always have trouble with that myself. Good, use what you know! I can see how castration stories would freak a guy out. That's awful. I hope what your co-worker told you wasn't a true story. If that really did happen, I hope her friend got someone to extract the entity and get help. Yuck!

Sorry boys and girls but the boss is out watching the Hurricanes this afternoon and aunt gabby just told me to throw out the garbage. mr scouries has been trying to ignore the ladies and would prefer not having to spread this slop to other threads but my aunt is less forgiving.

Her philosophy is that if you’re going to pee in our pool you better expect that someone is going to pee in yours! The QUEEN was invited to solve this quietly with a few words to the offending parties but so far she’s chosen not to.

If you’re new to this thread and can see this post let me just explain: three AHers, the dumb texan, misshick and miss odious have seen fit to repeatedly post the following (and other similar garbage) on various of the ScouriesWorld threads. We will return the favor as long as they continue their silly actions.

Adding scouries makes the threads he started vanish too...

Yes oggie it’s extremely good advice you’re giving you fellow golden agers. And I encourage all of our older Ahland club members to follow it. ‘Yesterdays people’ we call you around the office. The ‘lost generation’!

A group of senior citizens who yearn for the good old days … a group frightened of the future. Who believe you can simply push a button and anyone you disagree with will disappear. The by ignoring what's going on around you means it doesn't exist.

A group of lap dogs led by the oggman (his avatar proclaiming his view of himself). His brave army consisting of mr cut-and-paste ‘fake graph’ thread bumper and the dumb texan and his brilliantly conceived illustrations (borrowed from Dixie).

A group who cringe en masse when they even hear the word ‘change’. A group dedicated only to the 'status quo'!

A group supposedly interested in encouraging contest participation and helping authors. And yet whenever one of the ‘greats’, one of our readers ‘favorites’ show up, they draw their swords and start slashing feebly at the air.

And of course that’s why A.I.R. was born.

And to those of you who wish to follow ScouriesWorld that choice is yours too.

FYI:the ScouriesWorld threads continue to be the most popular on the site. Whether it’s the 1000+ Vote thread, the 100+ Comment thread, the A.I.R. thread, the non-oggman thread, the Art thread or the original the SCOURIES reader - for both fan and serious scholars thread, we will continue to strive to entertain, challenge, amuse, and educate our readers while working to make LITEROTICA an even better site.

That is my pledge!

And I’m:

First draft is finally done. Time to let it sit for two or three days and work on something else before coming back to begin the editing process.

Ugh, I didn't touch my story at all yesterday. It was just a crappy day what with all the rain. I hate rain. I don't understand people who love it and think it sounds soothing. The noise grates on my ears.

So nothing new. I might get to it today. First gotta make myself get up and go into town for some groceries and I wanna look at this one store just because I haven't been there in a while. When I get back I know I'll need a nap. I already want one so badly even though I've only been up for about two hours.

Only 5 weeks and 5 days until my due date, that's it! Stupid back pain keeps me from getting more sleep. I'm ready for this pregnancy to be over!

Yeah, hopefully I'll get to the story again today.

Nap and relax when you can and listen to your body and baby. I know everything grated on my nerves during pregnancy, especially towards the end. You're in the home-stretch now. You'll have a baby in your arms soon. Just keep telling yourself that. At least once you have the baby you'll be able to sleep in whatever position you want again, which I know for me was a huge relief on the body. As others have said, you don't have to get your story in on the first day, you have a few weeks after until the deadline to submit.

Yeah I can't wait to sleep on my stomach again. I think that's why my lower back has been hurting now because my hips are having to be perpendicular to the bed when normally I sleep twisted so they are at an angle. I was having problems where the bed was pushing on the join where my leg meets my hip and that was awful.

And yeah I don't have to have it in the first day but I feel like if I don't work on it a little every day I'll never get it done and revised.

Yeah, I think that's a pretty common problem. Do you have a body pillow? A nice, long, thick one that you can stick between your legs?

(See? Pregnancy can sound dirty.)

By 35 weeks I think I had a body pillow on each side. If I arranged them in a specific way, I found a kind of side, kind of belly position that was somewhat comfortable.

Good luck!

Haha Oh man, I can't tell you how many times someone mentions a body pillow. I've got two, one for each side so I don't have to fight the covers while rolling over with a pillow between my legs.

I've slept with a leg pillow since I was 3 so I was already prepared lol.

I've tried every position and pillow placement I can think of and find and nothing works.

The only thing I can think of is getting a prenatal yoga DVD and seeing if that helps.

I think I've got some pressure building around my hips and stuff too. While sitting on the bed, if I stick my left leg out, I can feel the pressure in the joint like it really needs to pop, but I've never had to pop that area before so I'm still trying to figure out a way to do it. I did accidentally do it once and it felt wonderful! So much tension was released and I think that helped stop the joint pain I was having while sleeping.

******

Got a little more written of the story. But I think a nap sounds good now so I'll go back to it later tonight.

SC, I PM'd you instead of filling up the board with pregnancy crap, but I only figured I should do that after I posted.

In short, though: The Webster Technique is pure bliss.

Aw soon-to-be-Mama, I feel for you. Sleep was the biggest issue for me too. I had terrible sciatica pain/lower back/numbness third trimester and it has continued. But being a chronic pain sufferer, I knew there'd be something residual. All worth it though! :)

Taty: I tried one of those Snoogles (I think that's what they were called), didn't help. I had two body pillows and all the other myriad of pillows. I even brought pillows to the hospital. I was told how silly that was. The people with me didn't think it was so silly when they were sleeping on them waiting for baby to be born.

Dirty and scary...24 hours of labor. After all this is the Halloween thread *teehee*

Not to mention I didn't want a stitch of clothing touching me ever again. ;)

Sugary Comfort: If you need to vent, PM. Unless people want to hear preggo stories, we can make them halloweeny. LOL

EDIT: *laughs* GMTA
