If I'm to have Tea, I'll have some decent Celon or Indian, thanks.

The stuff I grew up with, you know ?

Morning all

Fresh coffee and a nice crumb cake sounds like a nice way to start things off. Help yourself.

The stuff we grew up with, oy. For me it was either farm-fresh from Gramp's poultry yard and truck patch, or plastic foodstuffs from market chains: Velveeta, Chef Boy-Ar-Dee, TV dinners, Kool-aid, Fritos, macaroni whatever, boiled vegetables, maybe Chicken Delight if we were rushed and solvent.

I grew up with Kool-aid and sodas, not coffee nor hot tea. Around Los Angeles, tea was a midsummer drink, iced and sweet and voluminous, based on Lipton teabags' cheap, mysterious contents. Coffee was nasty but necessary for adults. Especially laced with flavorful booze. And their after-dinner cigarettes, sure.

Morning is breaking and so am I. Soon for coffee, not like the old days,, no, much better now, but I wish it wasn't required. Voluntary coffee, that's the best sort.

When I was a wee lad, I hated coffee. The stuff my folks drank was heavily laced with chicory (doubtless a hang-over from the War), so I drank Tea. Ordinary PG tips or Lyons (depending upon whichever was at the best price at the time). I used to like Fizzy pop drinks (Corona, mostly), but it was quite pricey.
Then I discovered Powdered coffee (Nescafe)

The real coffee's better these days. . . .

Hmm, my first, and possibly last, foray into this arena. Trying a cup of that "Death Wish Coffee." Purported to be the "World's Strongest." A gift from my daughter, who evidently thinks the caffeine levels in my bloodstream must be dangerously low. Check your mail, please, Mr. Rad. Update and request on our Western event. Thanks, Randi.

First and possibly the last? Did someone tell you we bite? Caffeine levels too low? That's what this place is for, to keep you aware of your levels. Even the water levels in Houston and Florida.

E-mail checked. If I think of anyone that fits the list, I'll let you know. So I guess that means I need to take the time and do the edit. I hate editing ya know.

Come on back when ya can stay longer. There a pretty nice group of regulars around most of the time. We even say hello to strangers and some of the stranger ones twice.

Do we bite now? That just might lure me back. :cattail:

I had someone once tell me my book bit, but I don't think he meant the same thing

How are you sweet lady? :rose:

He must have meant you nibbled. :D

There are good hours and bad hours. I'm hanging in there.

How's school?

:rose:

I live halfway up a forested ridge in this fold of the central Sierra Nevada range. 1-2 acre lots between here and the two-lane highway on the other side of the ridge. Atop the ridge, a road; below, a wide meadow, once a lumberyard, now a golf course -- 1000 acres that sold for US$350,000 a few months ago. Yeah, it's a little moth-eaten.

A good-sized pond centers the meadow hosting waterfowl and occasionally a pack of coyotes. A small rough-timber pier extends into the pond, probably a platform for divers paid to harvest submerged golf balls. I have walked to the end of that ratty pier, removed my Teva sandals, and sunk my heated feet into the cool water.

And had my toes nibbled. Fishy critters at my feet, tasting me.

North of the ridge, the land falls away into the Sutter Creek and Cosumnes River watersheds, essentially wilderness for 40 miles, the realm of deers and bears and pumas, the latter two of whom are known to nibble pets and trash in our neighborhood. Our trash was safely hauled this morning so we're likely safe for another week.

Time for more coffee. And a nibble of... something.

Afternoon, folks. :rose: I'm beginning to feel like there has been insufficient "nibbling" in my life. :D
Smear your naked body with peanut butter, step outside, see what happens.

Oh yeah, I finally crawled out of bed a bit after noon, a couple hours ago, and I'm on a rare second cuppa, splashed with Black Velvet. My partner is barfing in the far bathroom. Not my fault. Not enough coffee. Be warned.

and watch the nut allergy people flee in terror.....

Dianthus!!! ((((FLYINGTACKLEHUGSANDKISSES))) and a few nibbles here and there. :rose: :kiss:

My two house guests are insatiable nibbles. Three way nibbles are so much fun and stimulating.

Yes, fresh coffee for the evening crowd is definitely needed. A fresh kettle also.

The urge to nibble is strong or maybe it's supper time.

I'll just take that peanut butter a spoonful at a time, thanks. Preferably with some mini chocolate chips. And maye a coffee with some "Writer's Tears."

Welcome back to us, dear lady

Would you care to join me in a cup of tea (it would be coffee, but it's getting late). ?

I'd love a cup of tea, thank you. :) How've you been, HP? :rose:
