Flesh mob, fleshback, flesh card, flesh flood, flesh-freeze, flesh memory, flesh point, fleshover, flesh welding, flesh fiction. There, right as rain.

Have you been taking the right meds? :)
Oh fuck, I missed my evening pills. Stand back, everyone...

You should post that to the poetry section. They need more traffic.

I have two poems posted here, which is probably two, too many. ;)

Holy shit! It's almost 5AM and I haven't even thought about bed. I've been too busy writing.

Okay, fresh coffee for the morning crowd to contemplate while I take my morning Meds. They go down a hell of a lot easier with milk. Maybe a bite of a honey bun to force them the rest of the way.

Bed or more writing? Now there is the question.

I don't know who EB is but if she says you have money then that is great. Yeah, everything needs service sooner or later. ;)

Sorry EB = E-Bay.

But it's the middle of the day, so I'll take a coffee, with thanks.
And it's trying to rain . . .

If you write a non-erotic story (characters are about 12) set on Pratchett's Discworld, what category does it go in?

I have a rare copy of the Assassin's Guild Yearbook that I am using to write a story of the rise of a Scholarship Boy with all the special jargon and situations described in the book. It will be a puzzle and probably get no readership at all but I'm having fun.

Uh... Non-erotic would be my first guess. :D

A late afternooner to all. Fresh coffee is available.

After the writing binge last night, I have been lazy today.

I'd suggest non-erotic (unless you deviate from Pratchett's usual mode).
Do please advise when it's finished. Can I be a beta-reader please?

Welcome to Autumn, y'all.
Well, it's started round here, too.

I feel the need for a cup of teat. Anyone else fancy a cup ?

Sci fi and fantasy, and I think you'll get a fair readership.

Happy Autumnal Equinox. :rose:
I am fully prepared to hibernate.

Yes, me dear, but with whom ?

Ogg
, sadly, the Waverly has not been seen on my local canal since its building, and being in the middle of the country, even my longest lens will not permit me a view of her. and I have seen ladies like that Merry Widow (a magic translation,m I;m sure).

Time for a morning coffee, I think

Well, the weekend is here and the coffee is fresh, help yourself.

I've made massive headway on the latest novel in the last two days.

I better make the most of it. The house guests will return Monday. At least one anyway. She has a big surprise but I think I already know what it is but I will wait for confirmation.

Have a good day all.

All by my lonesome. :D

Congrats. :rose:

I'm trying to finish an actual story for a change. If I can do that, then there's hope. It's not going badly.

I actually have some rather . . . grandiose ideas about what I'm going to submit to various venues before my birthday at the end of next month. I'm gonna try. I have one novel that just needs one scene re-written and I can send it out. I'm going to compile a bunch of poetry into a self-published volume. That's mostly just choosing and formatting. I have another novel I want to finish. It's 3/4 done, just needs finishing and an edit. Then I want to prep for Nanowrimo. I know, a bit much, but I think it's possible.

Too bloomin' hot

Its ten to midnight in Sydney and I'm sipping iced tea on the back verandah, it's still 30 degrees Celsius. Earlier today I was out west of the state where it hit 40 - 41 at 4 pm. I think that's about 104 -106 fahrenheit - on the spring equinox! Worlds gone mad. :)

I have a number of 'unfinished' stories on my machine.
I do wish I could work out how best to finish a couple of them. . . .

Ah well, coffee I think!

What, it's a weekend already? [/me peers outside] Looks about the same. Well, I'll believe you.

We're in a little cool snap here signaling the start of autumn. Weather was great yesterday; otherwise the day sucked but y'all don't want to hear about it. The chopper overflights were either for a fugitive or lost hiker, not another forest fire. A new local good eatery suddenly closed; why is it fenced off?

I've meditated on California's transportation problems. After global warming boosts sea levels and the next Pineapple Super-Express returns the Central Valley into a 500-mile-long bay, high-speed hydrofoil service could connect our new shorelines, all the way from Grapevine Harbor to Port Placerville to Shasta Shores. A fishing industry could thrive here too, and oyster beds. (Oyster pearls could be a major funding source.) Will the Valley's major cities build seawalls in time? Will Fresno's Underground Gardens be a scuba tour?

I just finished off yesterday's coffee. Oh well, freshness lies ahead. Name your favorite roast.

I believe I may have moved to Oregon just in time.

If you're anywhere west of I-5 you'll be smithereened when the Cascadia Fault slips in a few years. How long can you tread water?

What's the threat prognosis for just east of Seattle? Should I retire here, or will it mean certain doom? I can swim pretty good, but doggy paddle is my best stroke. Oh, and pass the sugar jar, please. This roast is a little strong and needs something to sweeten it up.

I'm east.:p
That's good. Uphill is probably better. We're considering someplace around Sweet Home.

Here's the wake-up article:

The Really Big One
An earthquake will destroy a sizable portion of the coastal Northwest. The question is when.

I'll leave y'all to track the follow-ups. EDIT: I'm rereading the article. It's scary shit. Keep in mind that the seismic intensity scale is log10. A 7.3 quake is twice as strong a 7.0; an 8.0 is ten times as strong. Tohoku / Fukashima was 9.0; the Cascadia could hit 9.2, that's half again stronger than Tohoku.

Ah, I just opened a new jug of spiced rum -- Kirkland brand, named for a Seattle suburb that will disappear in The Big One -- to pour into the latest coffee+cocoa brew. Whipped cream on top. Oh, captain!
