Good afternoon, folks. I'm running a little slow today, fighting off a summer cold it seems. Luckily, the munchkin and I made zucchini bread yesterday so breakfast was zucchini bread, eggs and sausage with Dunkin Donuts medium roast made up in the French press. Delightful on a sunny morning on the hill.

The doors are open, sky is blue with white fluffy clouds and the breeze is occasionally making the wind chimes offer music.

I got a little editing in yesterday and plan to do more today along with making chocolate zucchini bread.

May you have a lovely day wherever you are. :rose:

Thanks, you as well! Hopefully writing today

:D Sorry, HP, no donuts here. Dunkin Donuts is store and a brand here and they have ground coffee beans on the grocery store shelf under that brand. That is what I was talking about. Some people love their coffee, some people could not care less. Well made, I love it. So I tried their ground coffee in my French press and it's lovely.

Now, I think you're just teasing me. You know our zucchini is your courgette.

Afternooner folks, I had a busy morning and i still need to mow the lawn.

The house guests that are the new neighbors, now have a driveway, carport, and patio, complete with a fire pit. It also seems one of them may become a permanent house guest. :)

Ah - sh1t!. I'd forgotten that. Thanks for the (embarrassing) reminder. :rose:

Sounds good; Make sure the coffee's decent, then !

PS. On the subject of Baseball.
Does a 'batting' player have to physically Touch the base or can he simply run past it or stop 'near' (as in past) it ?
Can a 'fielder' impede the p[layers progress in his run ?

The runners have to touch each base.

The fielders cannot impede the runner. If they are in the act of tagging the runner, then they can block the runner at the base. In that case the runner can plow into the fielder about as hard as he wants to. Usually that's an attempt to dislodge the ball from the fielders hand.

Hee hee. :D All you had to do was pretend you really were teasing me. I tried.

Chocolate zucchini bread in the oven. It's more of a cake. I serve a slice with whipped cream.

Going to try for a wee bit of writing.

I saw a recipe for zucchini pancakes today. They looked easy to make.

I've cooked foods for car travel. One favorite was maize cornbread loaded with cream cheese and grated zucchini. Bake in a wide tin so it comes out thin and crunchy. Mmm.

What's the time now, late night or early morning? I slept some; I'll sleep some more. Bears may wander by in the darkness but probably not pumas, wolves, or wolverines. Dewy does with new batches of freckled fawns browse our mountain meadow. Snow remains in the high country (we drove to Tahoe and Nevada yesterday) and formerly drought-thinned rivers flow nicely with the remaining melt. Time proceeds.

Is it early or late? Time to crawl back in, I think. Don't even think about coffee.

The local public schools started classes today. That added about 20% to the length of my commute. It could have been worse. It was a beautiful morning and there were balloons to watch.

Morning all, barely.

There were pancakes for breakfast as well as chocolate milk.

The three of us made an early grocery run this morning. People who hadn't spoke to me in years all of a sudden are my long lost my best friend. I figured we had the gossip mill working overtime but.... :D

Ok, fresh coffee and maybe some writing.

My neighbour has asked me to fix up an 'analogue' phone. The basic thing is to look like it's "Victorian", but the bells ain't real brass and the internals are in a bad way.
But I'll give it a go as soon as I can work out which pair out of the four wires gets connected to the line.
Somehow, I just do not fancy my chances, somehow . . . . .

Pass the coffee please.

:)
Gosh !. Perhaps we should form some sort of "Writers Group" ?

Meanwhile, a cup of tea would be welcome, I think.

A writer's grope, uh, group. Sounds like fun. :)

Fresh coffee and a kettle for the evening crowd.

Pork chops, mashed taters, and ranch style beans for supper. I'm stuffed.

Hello... just checking in while PennGirl does her gymnastics. I'm all by myself since my usual company is taking a vacation (or trying to) before school starts.

So I'll relax with some tea. I hope everyone gets their chores done and either has nice weather, or can stay out of the bad.

Oh -- I survived PennGirl's belated birthday party this weekend!

Mostly I'm waiting for my surgery. Done a lot of work around the house, got stuff cleaned up and laid in a few post-surgery supplies. I feel like I'm laying in for a siege, but that's probably me watching too much Game of Thrones.

It's weird having it looming (don't mind me, just musing), although at least it won't loom for long. Tomorrow I have pre-surgery admission and a risk assessment for lymphedema. Wednesday we meet with the plastic surgeon, and my parents arrive Wednesday night. Thursday afternoon I will get the arrival time and then Friday... off I go.

Actually I have a question: if anyone has has had a reconstruction done like this, or knows someone who has, do you have any opinion on a tattoo vs a nipple reconstruction? One of my mom's neighbors had it done, and I'm giving it some thought, but some anecdotes, site recommendations, etc., would be welcome.

Thanks :)

I tried a zucchini and parmesan patties once but didn't like how they turned out. I have several recipes I enjoy though. A combination of onion, pepper, zucchini and chopped tomatos with Italian seasonings is very tasty.

I thought I'd let you off.

Ha, I intend to try making wine someday but I just don't have the time right now.

Laying in supplies is a good thing. I think everyone I know has had the reconstruction. :rose:
