We've got a warm, clear day with spectacularly clear air. I was just out and noticed that the gambel oak on the mountain is starting to turn to its fall red/orange color.

Hiding in a coffee house for some reading and writing. Hope everyone is well. :rose:

I'm having coffee in the tire repair shop. Puncture on the way to work I guess coz I came out and one was flat. Got a little pump in the car so I reflated and it lasted long enough to get me here. Nice guys fitted me right in so I'm just waiting now. No free coffee tho. Sob.

Shouldn't take long to patch and shouldn't cost much, if anything. I've had mechanics wave the cost. Good luck!

Black Velvet is, I think, Guinness & champagne.
How do you get this in tea ?
I'm not sure I should ask about Godiva.
She was last heard of riding a horse, naked, in Coventry a thousand years or so ago. (she died in 1067, I gather).

Godiva Chocolates. Black Velvet is a Canadian whiskey.

You should read my story about Godiva:

https://www.literotica.com/s/godiva-1

The legend about Godiva, like many legends, is full of flaws. It wasn't recorded until long after she had died as a rich and powerful Saxon landowner who had endowed several religious bodies. How she kept her lands after the Norman Conquest is a mystery - but she did.

I've had those too.

Mine's a 1994 Toyota Corolla wagon and it's almost as old as me. It was my Mom's from new, she gave it to me when I went off to College and I've had it ever since and it's just not dying. Nothing major ever goes wrong with it. I've changed the oil every 10,000 miles for the last couple of hundred thousand miles (it's got a gazillion on the clock), the tires are worth more than the car, there's almost no rust, everything works. I've never had to do any major repairs to it, ever. It's totally a tribute to Toyota design and workmanship. I'm just running it until it finally dies and then I'm giving it some kind of traditional Japanese funeral or something.

Cars like that deserve three coats of wax, four cinder blocks, and a prominent place on the front lawn according to southern tradition. :D

Evening all. It was a beautiful day with good company and slow lazy sex, which started at coffee this morning and led to a couple of short naps and later some hot horny writing.

We didn't find out about the Vegas thing until the evening news. After that, the housemate was burning up the phone checking on friends and family that live in Las Vegas. All is well with all of them, thank goodness.

Fresh coffee and kettle for the late crowd.

"You might be... if your house has wheels and your car doesn't."

Isn't this a total mindfuck? Another one for the record books. Another step on the way to "Oh shit, what'll happen next?" Another reminder that the crazies be all around us. And another round of finger-pointing and posturing and blather with no action... till the next slaughter, say next week. Or day after tomorrow.

Enough. Almost two in the morning here. Yeah, there's more decaf grounds. And more rum. And a prospect of a brief escape. We'll fire up the little RV tomorrow (first time since July) and cruise over Kit Carson Pass to the Reno area and out across northern Nevada (far from Vegas) for a few days. Probably no cell service, no WiFi hotspots, no forum access. Oh, the isolation...

I grew up with this car (disclaimer - mine does not look like this - I think I last put her thru the carwash about two years ago - I let rain do it's job). It was my ride when I was a baby! We've gone everywhere together. I kind of feel when she dies I should resurrect her and do something like you said - or like this.... and keep her forever or something.

And for the early crowd, your coffee is ready - just wipe the rim of the pot after you've helped yourself, okay.

A rebuilt motor and transmission. Rebuild the rear-end. New front suspension. A little interior work, around 10k. A new car, around 32k. You do the math. ;)

Morning all. Cloudy, with a light rain and scattered showers around. A very good morning to cuddle. Unfortunately, I have a conference call with my editor and publisher this morning. The start of a new month.

So a fresh pot of coffee and a fresh kettle for the morning crew. I'm already halfway through the first pot.

Bright sunny day here in the PNW. Looks like a good day to make a pot of soup, work on the compost bins and go get a set of X-rays. I'm trying to put off a total hip replacement as long as possible.

My neighbour reckoned having her hip done was simply the best. No pain and the ability to walk better was worth it!

I have an 11-year-old Vauxhall (GM / Opel) with a 1.7L diesel engine and nearly 100K on the clock. And it still works nicely.

Is it me or is it too cold in here?

Oh, well, that might be the non-virtual coffee house's fault.

Amaretto latte today and two hours of writing ahead.

Chapters 18-20 of Unlikely Angels are slated to post tomorrow as a single chunk, and I submitted Ch. 21 just now. That left me with the odd feeling that no projects are demanding my attention. It's kind of like when the cats are all asleep at the same time and not insisting on attention.

I've hit a snag with the new vertical CB aerial for my mate.
~This is going to cause me some distress, I can tell.

Tea, I think.

My current ride. 9 years old with 103k+ miles. It'll still do 100+ and hold it for miles and miles and miles.

Nice!

Now below is what mine looks like on a good day when it's rained hard and the sun's dried it so it's all nice and shiny. Waxing, you ask? Hasn't seen wax for 100k miles.... The clock's at 550k+ miles, it's 23 years old, it'll still hit 100 and hold it without the engine doing an imitation of the space shuttle exploding but, well, it's scary doing that coz I'm not sure what other bits might come off and my significant other turns more white than he is so I generally restrict my speeding to 30mph zones ...

It has not been a great day. Getting the X-rays was fine but then I started a pot of vegetable soup, got distracted and ended up with a house full of smoke, a burnt pot, an alarm system that wouldn't stay turned off and a visit from the Clackamas County Fire Department. They were cool about the whole thing and even used one of their heavy duty fans to help blow out the smoke but I really could have done without the whole incident. Fortunately, the second pot of soup went very well.

Sheesh!

Any day that involves the fire department is likely to be a bad day. That must have been quite a distraction.

How very inconvenient. You will remember that soup for a long while, perhaps ?
