I am headed out on a trip soon, Hope to see some fall color. Not sure how long I will be on the road but a couple of weeks. Now I have to go dig out my winter clothes.

Well on top of it all I stupidly agreed to do a paper on ethics to be videoed in November. Guess what my weekend has been spent doing…. Bloody research. At least I got out on ducks last night on a pals ponds and we shot a few. Then Ben and Sam did well too finding the birds in the dark. At least I am nack on the hill tomorrow with my boys!

The weather looks set fair for the week …. A bonus!

I picked up the slabbed cherry. It looks amazing. A friend of mine is taking 10 boards.

I ordered the lumber to make the solar kiln. I think I can knock it out in 2-3 weekends. It takes the drying time from a year or two years to 5-10 weeks (depending on thickness and type of wood).

Whipped up some fried red salmon and mash potatoes for dinner this evening. The cross I have to bear.

I cooked pan fried Atlantic Salmon with Brussels Sprouts, & Biscuits for dinner. Lady K likes me to cook on Sunday nights.
It's the only time I can have white wine with dinner.

I made chicken pot pie soup for my dad... i had a peanut butter sandwich. He ate and 5 servings went into the freezer for next time

I am hone now. Will sleep and work from here. With frequent check ins

No more 24 hrs a day withcmy parents. Today dad will drive self to dialysis. And doc appointments

He is loads better and he needs to be more active. He was enjoying being waited on and it wasnt helping him

Good to see OM is coming back. Not good is my poor old dog of 17 years, had a rough night. I had to give him the max dose of gabapentin so he could get some rest. I’m still not sure of any reason for his discomfort in lying down but it sure was a problem.

He is resting now very well. I got good sleep so I plan to still drop off grandchildren this morning.

Getting old is a pain in the #@$.

I tried getting a fountain for my girl early on. She wasn't drinking enough (according to me). I tried so many things! Different kinds of water, even pond water since she loved drinking from the pond. I thought she might like a fountain but she seemed to be scared of it.

I hope the kitties love theirs!

Dogs seem to prefer either mudpuddle water or toilet bowl water. Indoor cats will do the toilet bowl thing, too, or lick the bathtub when you get out of the shower, or prey on a faucet drip.

There are actually therapies for disk compression. They generally involve surgery. The vertebrae can be built up.

My fur coated one has been snugged up to me every night, sometimes even under the covers. She doesn't have thick or dense fur so gets cold easily.

Geezer Cat had a thin coat. He was quite the seeker of the body heat of others.

Slept through a call last night. Dr. Tyler was "found wandering the hallways without her keys." Wat's guess: pain meds induced disorientation. This may get interesting at a rate that I don't want to have to keep up with just yet . . . .

So, dad made it to dialysis and back , he took all his meds, mom got him his insulin (he cant be trusted- 5 units is good 10 is better) and he didnt work my mom half to death... day 1 was a success. Have to decide what day i am going over. He has a dentist appt today. Mom is going with him
I will prob go over tomorrow....or maybe tonight. My sister is going thursday

Sounds like a cool house! I love old houses but know they have their challenges.

When I was a kid, we lived in a pretty old house. 1876 old Victorian, that wasn’t kept quite up to snuff. My dad tried, but it was a lot, especially after my parents split up.

All I wanted was to live in a newer nicer more modern house. Then as I grew up, I realized older houses were much cooler.

Our last house was an 1880 farmhouse, but Mrs. W and I compromised on this one and got a 1960 Cape Cod.

Now, I really love mid-century modern houses! My neighbors have a really really cool one!
