I made the handyman wear them yesterday.
Had a worker in the place a few years ago when there was an attic insulation upgrade project. Next thing you know, someone got something in their eye. I had plenty of sterile saline eyedrops at the time to help flush it out.

I had a tiny piece of ceramic stick in my eye while wearing side shields but there was a good breeze and it somehow got past the glasses. Then there was the time I accidentally touch a hot wire to ground and the spark was so strong that a piece of copper splattered onto the lens of my glasses. It never hurts to go the extra step.

My brother was using the wire wheel on a bench grinder and got (what he thought) was a piece of rust in his eye....
He tried and tried to pick it out, finally gave up and went to the eye doctor, who got ahold of it and pulled out a FULL LENGTH wire from that wire wheel!
It still makes me cringe when I think about it!

The nurse where I worked was able to wash the ceramic chip out with saline solution. She had to get really close and I had to hold still. She was such a tease. Nurses!

I probably have shingles. While I wait weeks for an appointment, I started self-medicating with ivermectin lotion I bought at Walmart. I went to Walmart for healthcare.

When my dad was dealing with Shingles, I made him some Colloidal Silver and brought it to him.
He SWORE that it gave him more relief than every OTC and prescription option he'd been given, combined!
It's worth a try!

I will wager that people here have no idea how much work is involved in judging melons. They had to be submitted in pairs so there was a lengthy visual inspection to identify any differences. Perhaps unsurprisingly, almost all contestants had one bigger than the other. Most arrived wrapped so we had to unwrap them all and let them rest a few minutes in the fresh air.
Then we had to wash them thoroughly and pat them dry before we performed the touch test. We had to feel how round they were and that the flesh was resistant to finger pressure. We also had to check for any areas that were hard to the touch.
And finally, there was the taste test...

Hard work, but I'm nothing if not thorough!

It was a glorious day on Sunday and with the management away I could please myself. I decided to head into the hills looking for berries. I also needed to get my legs going for the upcoming season. So boots on, bag packed, and stick in hand I headed out to what will be my office for the next five months. It was hard work and took so time to stretch the legs out but with the odd breather I made it. I managed to get four pounds of bilberries for pies. Out for four hours I didn’t see another soul… so peaceful… mmmmm

The landlady had to put her very old beagle down today. He was all sorts of tumors and his feet had started to bleed because something was badly wrong there. He was 14.

As there should be. Same for horizontal grinders.


I worked with a guy who had a wheel collapse and hit him in the top of his thigh. They quit counting stitches after 80-something. Oddly, he didn't bleed all over the seat in my truck.
