Good morning denizens of the cafe. It’s grandpa’s taxi morning. Clearing hazy smoke air but more stormy weather coming. I can live with rain.

As we get older we have to remember our physical limitations. I used to play percussion but tremors limit that. They also limit what food I order at restaurants. Soup is not ordered!

I worked with an engineer who had Parkinson's.
I saw him trying to eat peas with a fork and after the 4th time his fork made it to his mouth, empty... he hollered "Dammit Bobby, don't EVER make peas without mashed potatoes again!"

The tooth extraction was a success. Definitely not my favorite thing.

Not even laughing gas this go around.

Who was all over and done with in 45 minutes, including the bone graft for the implant.

I was supposed to take the afternoon off, but you know me. I did take a little nap from one to two but then was back online.

And filled up the wood bins at the farm stand.

Since I cannot eat anything solid for a few days, we had ice cream for dinner. At one of my favorite spots.

finally broke down and put my boat in the water...it's getting to big for me to handle by myself. actualy its the same size i'm just getting weeker. now i can fish father out then just my dock..the milfoil is so bad its shrinking my dock fishing area thats why i had to get the boat out.

I liked older mom’s strategy for dealing with this guy. Give him some time. Maybe he lost his phone or something happened. Half of these contractors are robbing Peter to pay Paul.

We are working with a contractor we really like, but he played some of the cash flow game with us… it’s always a fucking crapshoot.

Lady K and I were members of ACE..American Coaster Enthusiasts, we would ride roller-coasters all over the US.

Nice! Must have some great memories of a lot of wonderful rides!

A simple reply of "I'm taking care of this" would suffice. Of course, by Friday, I will want to know all the particulars.

The French take a 2 hour lunch

I love the idea of a 2 hour lunch. Just not endeared to the thought of extending the work day by another hour.

My legs are pretty strong. It's my upper body and balance that needs work.

Same. All the sports I played had an emphasis on leg strength. I've got crap for upper body strength.

I do like those. My husband loved ginger cookies. I'd buy them for him but couldn't eat them like he did. Ginger is more of a "hot" spice to me.

A sibling did a reno on a historic home. Just getting the architect's plans approved took almost 4 years.

I've heard of dogs wearing dead chickens as collars. Apparently if you tie the bird around the dogs neck long enough they'll want nothing to do with them after that.

agree! Great adaptive technique on his part. In my case? Mashed taters are a great delivery system to try and eat disliked foods. Doesn't work with them all, but for the ones it does? Like hiding a pill in cheese for a dog.

Yes. It surely does. I still recall my dad having a wisdom tooth pulled when he was early 30s. Dad grew up in a very small town where the barber doubled as the dentist.
Dry socket... coupled with lock jaw.
Mom was straining the noodles from chicken noodle soup for a week so he could drink it through a straw. He's lucky his jaw locked with just enough space for a straw. No hard sucking though - milkshakes were out.
He was so sick!
This was the mid-70s... so I'm sure just a few things have changed since.

I've been teaching a Master Class on Communicating with Clients for my handyman. So far? Minimal improvement. Not sure but thinking he may have some undiagnosed adult ADHD plus minimal business schooling, like @Wat_Tyler said. I'm not giving up... he's indirectly helping me improve my stress management and box breathing skills

If it is mixed with other spices doesn't seem to bother me. I think it is just a thing about nutmeg... and clove makes me gag. I make my own pumpkin pie spice

Give em hell... I almost had to kick someone's ass and her teenage daughter when my mom said "excuse me please" and they started yelling at her. I was 10 feet away smelling a candle and I quickly caught up and said "what is the problem? I suggest you and you (with a pointing finger) take your asses down that aisle ( used the pointy finger) and go about your day.....

I must have looked pretty serious because everyone scattered and aisle used..

I get it...poor mama... nurses aren't like they used to be...I know because I am one.
