The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Up. Coffee. Hmmm . . . .

Slept through a call last night. Dr. Tyler was "found wandering the hallways without her keys." Wat's guess: pain meds induced disorientation. This may get interesting at a rate that I don't want to have to keep up with just yet . . . .
Oh, dear. I hope you're able to find a workable (for both of you) solution. 🫂🫂

So, dad made it to dialysis and back , he took all his meds, mom got him his insulin (he cant be trusted- 5 units is good 10 is better) and he didnt work my mom half to death... day 1 was a success. Have to decide what day i am going over. He has a dentist appt today. Mom is going with him
I will prob go over tomorrow....or maybe tonight. My sister is going thursday
YOU did this, honey! You took the time and patience to nurse your dad back to health even though you were severely ill yourself. Then you taught them both how to manage. Very good job! 🤗💞🤗

When I was a kid, we lived in a pretty old house. 1876 old Victorian, that wasn’t kept quite up to snuff. My dad tried, but it was a lot, especially after my parents split up.

All I wanted was to live in a newer nicer more modern house. Then as I grew up, I realized older houses were much cooler.

Our last house was an 1880 farmhouse, but Mrs. W and I compromised on this one and got a 1960 Cape Cod.

Now, I really love mid-century modern houses! My neighbors have a really really cool one!
When I first moved to WA, I bought a 1930s farmhouse on a couple of acres. I had never lived in the country and had all kinds of romantic ideas about it. The house was lovely but needed SOOOO much work!

I didn’t know they existed. We have radiators so I haven’t had a furnace that needed filters in sometime.
About 10-ish years ago, we had two furnaces. One died; the furnace guys recommended redoing the ductwork and putting in a larger, more economical furnace and just having the one. It came with the washable filters as well as a place to put replaceable filters. My husband also decided to have a heatpump installed. It was a good decision. Then, we only had really hot days two or three times a year. Now, we have more hotter days when I'm glad to have the AC.

We’re about 60 or 70 miles inland, so it’s not nearly as bad here. But down the shore? I think it was pretty bad with a lot of coastal flooding.

I arrive later than we anticipated, more on Sunday evening, so we pretty much got there and back with no problems.
Glad you are pretty much out of its way!

My senior dog is resting and on pain meds. I have him some meds to stimulate his appetite. It’s going to be day to day for him. This is sad. I am hoping he will pull out of it. My GF has been giving me amazing emotional support. So are all of you. ❤️
It's a really hard decision. You will know when the time is right. 🫂💜🫂

Very different day on the hill yesterday. Sat two and a half hours in the mist before they concluded it was time to cancel and send us home.

So got time to fix my electric fence. Didn’t bother switching it of got hold of the insulator and bloody thing was live. Well didnt need the voltage tester lol
You're lucky you didn't get fried, G! ⚡⚡
