The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

So, when I was on the last job, we changed out two dozen bathtubs. The new tubs were slightly different than the openings over there. Fortunately, the openings were a bit too big. It’s easier to make an opening smaller at some point than it is to make a tub smaller. Or to stretch it. I got a call from the plumber. It seems my direct supervisor had called him and told him he needed to take out and reinstall the 24 tubs because he didn’t understand how we were gonna fix it. 45 minutes later, I got a call from my boss about the very same situation. Since I was on that side of town, I asked if he wanted me to come look at it basically, he said whatever. So I went.

Fortunately, the experiment tub is in a now vacant unit. People have moved out. There it was in all its glory, tub too small for the hole. I explained why we did what we did, and I explained that I had looked at this four months ago when we did it and what we plan to do was to pad the side wall out, opposite from the valve end, which was tight to the wall. Made perfect sense to me. I struggle to explain myself. It wasn’t that I struggled with my explanation, it was that he struggled to get a picture. It wasn’t what he had in mind. I think he had in mind to punish the plumber.

I feel reasonably confident that the moron who replaced me on that job probably threw us all under the bus, and this is the residue. Of course, during the 20 minutes I was there, the coward ducked me. What a non-surprise.

I’ll be curious how this turns out.

Happy Friday Eve, spoonies

🥰 I hope you love your electric tea kettle a fraction of how much I love mine!!

🍀 🍀

What in the world, @Boat1? Is everyone breaking your toys or what?? Sounds like an 🍑 🦵 is needed... and while you might enjoy it, your 🫏 isn't the one needs 🦵 -ing. 🤨

Oh, c'mon... surely you have room for a third job out there in Corporate Zombieland? Slacker!

🫂 Kidding - I know it can be brutal at times. Hope the projects all come together, you get through the travel, and your CIO buys a clue.

🥰 Hubba-hubba, Mrs W!!

Great reminder - Thank you to our resident medical staff for all you do for us!! 🥰 Your hard work and dedication are much appreciated!

Same! IDK how you do it @Boat1. I need big blocks of sleep not little sips here and there.

I loved that show growing up. Jack Klugman and Tony Randall were such a great pairing. I didn't even realize there was a movie until later. Another amazing pair: Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau!!

WOOT!! You go, girl!! That's amazing!! ✨ 💖

🫂 Glad you rescheduled - it can be a challenge to keep up with the self-care when others need our care, too

May be time for a new oral surgeon? Have you researched to find the top oral surgeon in network in your area? Who do other dentists go to for their oral surgeon needs? 🫂

Like anyone needs an excuse

Okay, Sybil
IYKYK 🤭

I thought it was Wednesday for the first 2 hours at work. Like anyone needs Second Wednesday in their week.

I love watching mist and fog swirl and float around... except when I have to drive in it. Then it can fuck right off! 🚗

PSA - If I'm absent on Monday or if I post something goofy... it's my Probe Day... and I always say "Hell Yes!" to the sedation. :ROFLMAO:

I much prefer Probe Day - keep 'em guessing. Aliens or medical appointment?😂

Not sure if @thør is from Alaska or currently living in Alaska... maybe both? I need a reminder
@thør - hope you and any family are out of harm's way if you're in Alaska at present
You are so right about self care when caring for a loved one. I took a short break and walked at the park for 45 minutes. When I returned he was walked down doggy stairs to the floor waiting for me. An amazing sight!
