I've got a few stories that sometimes get up to 4.8, then knocked down - one was the only story of mine ever to trouble a top list, which would explain it; others I think are just regression to the mean - reader thinks it's good but not 4.8 good, votes 4. Repeat, story gets below 4.6, readers think it deserves a little more. Whatever - I seem to be a solid roughly-4.7 author.
The first 14 votes on my recent story were all 5, which I imagine is people here being nice.

I've got an anon working through my stories atm telling me how he'd have done them, and telling me he's given me 5, 1, 2 and 3 stars...

Yep, same for me. Every time it heads for that red H it gets knocked back. And it's happened 4x.

I would respectfully point out that every time a writer grumbles publicly about how P'd they are about being one-bombed, there's a troll in Mom's basement grinning and rubbing their hands in glee. It's like a two-year-old shouting potty words. The worst thing you can do is act upset; that's what the little sh*ts want. If it's particularly egregious, hit the Report Story icon and ask for a sweep.

It's your call, of course, but think about it.

I know. I usually avoid discussions of scores like the plague because of what you mention. There'll be a sweep soon enough and the problem will vanish. Thanks for the response.
