Thanksgiving- what about you?

I'm not sure what I'm doing for Thanksgiving yet. Probably going to spend it with the folks and fiance, along with my brother, his wife, their kids. I adore those kids; I'm very thankful for my nieces and nephew. I don't have any babies of my own, so I get to spoil them rotten instead. :)

I'm thankful for life. Even at its worst, it's better than the alternatives.

I'm thankful for the people in my life. Even the stupid bastards I want to throttle, because they present endless challenges through which I can learn and grow (and throttle).

I'm thankful for the age we live in, for the technology that allows nigh instantaneous, global communication. And I'm thankful for the space program that made it possible. *ducks real fast*

I'm thankful for the people making advances in understanding fibromyalgia; the more they learn, the better chance there is for a cure. I know, selfish gratitude, but I can't help it. :)

I'm thankful for the volunteers who give their time and energy to make their communities better places to live.

I'm thankful for Beethoven's Ode to Joy. When I listen to it, and I realize that Beethoven composed this wonderful piece during one of the lowest points of his life, it reminds me that the greatest beauty can come even in the darkest times. Wow, that sounded corny even to me - but I still think it's true.

And last, but certainly not least, I'm thankful to have found Lit. Such an interesting mix of people, so many intelligent, cool folks here. Euclid say that. I'm still giggling over that.

Have a happy holiday, everyone.

I am glad to be home for a few days and am thankful for kitten eyes...I missed everyone

For My American Friends

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, the following is something to
ponder..............

If you woke up this morning with more health than illness ... you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.

If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation... you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.

If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death... you are more blessed than three billion people in the world.

If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep... you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.

If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful... you are blessed because the majority can, but most do not.

If you can hold someone's hand, hug them or even touch them on the shoulder... you are blessed because you can offer healing touch.

If you can read this post, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you, and furthermore, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world that cannot read at all.

Have a good day, count your blessings, and pass this along to remind everyone else how blessed we all are.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Hope it's a good one!

Well, we are heading to Grandma's...it's only down the street, no need for singing.

I am thankful that I have such a wonderful, beautiful, intelligent daughter.

I am thankful that I have a family to share the holidays with.

I am thankful that I have a few people to turn to online when my "real" life gets too hard.

I am thankful that someone who used to be a friend, pointed out the error of my ways.

My resolutions:

I vow to be a better person. I will do so, even when I am deliberately provoked (I've started this already...did you notice?).

I vow to be a better parent. No matter how great we think we are, there is always room for improvement.

I vow to spend more time on "me". When I neglect myself, I start neglecting others.

Disclaimer: yes, I am aware that most people make resolutions on New Year's...I do not...but I decided to make them on Thanksgiving...the reason for this is that while we are remembering all the good we have, we are also remembering the sorrow, the pain, the hardships...at this time, I like to say to myself "I will try to do better next time."

Thank you for your time, and patience throughout this ordeal...*hugs and kisses*

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!!!

I'm goin to be working on Turkey Day, it's better than listening to my slightly dysfunctional, utterly neurotic family.

Probably do the same thing on Christmas as well.
