Yeah, and my yard turns the same brown color as well.
"Cooler Fall" weather in Texas is relative. Daily temp ranges from 60 to 80, instead of 80 to 100. However I do see that today's high may reach 90, so maybe summer isn't quite over.

My weekend is not so good. During a family gathering last night, some conflict arose concerning who is invited to Thanksgiving dinner at our house. Turns out to be a simmering issue from several years back, just now raising its ugly head. I wish someone had said something to me about this when it happened. Now too late to un-invite a specific person for Thanksgiving. Ugh, The Drama!

And the family and friends never understand why I'm just fine having my Thanksgiving meal home and alone. *sigh* This year I'm trekking off to the cold country to spend the holiday with my daughter...
I came from a small loose knit family, wife came from a large tight knit bunch. Used to be 2 brother in laws and one sister in law always managed to either get arrested, knocked up or in some other way get every holiday screwed up. Drugs and alcohol finally thinned the herd and the rest finally managed to increase the distance from the home camp. Now if I can spread my own tribe around it may finally be good on holidays...lol.
