Good morning Texas!

Just sipping my morning cup of tea and avoiding the whole logging onto work thing..

Good morning Texans. We made it through Monday.
There are tons of bluebonnets 287 in Mansfield. Why were we always told it was illegal to put bluebonnets?

Good morning fellow Texans. Having my first cup of coffee and I wade into this discussion about picking bluebonnets.

Do a Google search on "is it illegal to pick bluebonnets". Appears to be legal, but discouraged to pick the bluebonnets. And it is an old, well held myth that picking bluebonnets is illegal. But not true.

IMHO, it is better to view and enjoy, take a few pictures, and leave our State Flower for others to enjoy. :)

I agree, let everyone enjoy the beauty they provide.

I plant random bluebonnets (and lots of other flowers) every year, for everyone's enjoyment. And I pick one bouquet a year for my own enjoyment. You all may sit on your pedestals all you want, but I won't be made to feel guilty about it :D

Now, if I didn't buy and scatter seeds every year, I would probably feel the same way you all seem to. But as it stands, well, hundreds of those flowers are technically mine, and I love very dearly the dozen I do pick every year! :)

Speaking of flowers, at $3.99 I could not resist trying a bougainvillea- and I have it in a pot. I can't remember is it was Sun Bunny or Jenny who was talking about this? I will let you know how it goes...

Really? How coincidental! I've done this before, too. Wildflower seeds to spread are readily available. Admittedly I don't to it every year.

But I should! :)

As far as the legality goes, it is illegal to pick them if you trespass or pluck them out of planned gardens, otherwise...nope!

I think Sunbunny was talking about growing hibiscus in containers, wasn't she?

Oooohhhh!!
Aaaaahhhh....
Ummmm :D
What if you trespass to plant them. Does that get cancelled out when you trespass to pick them?? ;)

Oh! Well, there's nothing like showcasing my excellent memory :p

It has been a while since the last time I said Hello here.

Hello.
