*low whistle* Alright, finally finished plowing my way through all 297 pages... it took us a good couple of days to do it, but damn... I mean.. .that's all I can really say.

Hey guys,
I have good news and bad news.
The good news is that I got a new web cam... simply to take pictures and video for all of you. While I LOVE my canon rebel it's kind of labor intensive to get everything set up. Plus, my remote shutter battery is dead.
The bad news is that the quality on the webcam isn't nearly what I had hoped... I will have to play with the settings and see if I can improve the quality of the images.
But, without further stalling - I'll post a few of what I've taken already.

Yeah webcams suck, though you are stunningly lovely though...
May I make a suggestion as a former freelance photographer...don't be behind a light source like the window...the light will play havoc with getting a good picture...rather use the window as a light source....
lets see if I can use our smilies as props and draw you a diagram..
= you (cause that's what looking at your picts does to me)
= Camera (cause it loves you)
= Sun through window (of course)
one way is to put the camera between you and the sun like this
another way is to use the window as a sidelight
either way you could also use a wall, or a big white piece of cardboard, or even a cheap light to fill in the dark spots...
Even with a cheap webcam you can get decent pictures with the proper amount of lighting even a sunny window...
The basic set up is called 3 point lighting, here is a brief tutorial http://www.mediacollege.com/lighting/three-point/
I have a web cam, and I bought 3 cheap metal work lights, the kind that have a clamp on the back, and I use regular bright white light bulbs, and with some clotespins and cardboard to use as barndoors, I can manage some okay picts...

Your compliments are food for my ego... I'm a photographer too, and Ive been using the work lights for years... but here in my little bedroom my choices were limited today. I will definitely have to play around with a set-up. I actually kind of liked the light behind me today, it added a bit of mystery that made me happy. I'm definitely going to read that tut though. I can always use some hints on indoor lighting.
