A few months ago there was a thread about comic art solicitations. One of the artists appeared to be legit if rightly castigated and banned for her approach. I ended up trading DMs and emails with her, and after doing a lot of checking, commissioned her. I'm not mentioning names or links because I'm not soliciting for her, but at least the work was legit, and I'm pleased with it.
Now someone is taking her portfolio, which now includes the cover for my commission, and pages for another Lit writer, and using it in a new round of solicitations in DMs. According to the original artist, this is not her or her friend, who uses the same site. This is a commission scammer, but the work they're linking in their DM includes work for Lit writers, which might make it look more legit. It isn't.
