Ok, it had to happen sooner or later.

Those of you who have been "with me" since the beginning of my Lit love affair know that I have a wonderful Mother who has (had) severe health issues. Cardiomyopathy at the age of 32 and a heart transplant in the same year that I started high school.

I'm one of those lucky few who KNEW exactly what I had before I lost it.

Now - I'm not trying to bring down the mood or make anyone melancholy, but in order to save myself from repeating this same story over and over again in PM's, I'm posting it here. I don't do this to provoke sympathy or pity, but simply to share a bit of myself with those that care.

On March 8th of last year, I got that dreaded phone call. My wonderful, courageous Mother had died in her sleep in her home, in her own bed. This in itself, was a blessing and a point of comfort. As ill as she was for so long - none of us could bear the thought of her being hooked to machinery in a hospital for any length of time. She was just too.... free.

It's imperative that I note that as much as I miss her EVERY SINGLE DAY, I know that she no longer suffers. What I would hope for each and every one who reads this is that you would take away a greater need to know those closest to you. Treasure them with all of your heart and make sure that they know with every fiber of their being how much you appreciate them. Telling someone that you love them - it isn't enough. Show it.

Ok, now to make matters even worse --- 4 months later, my aunt (Mom's sister and my 2nd Mom) died as well. Unfortunately, this happened while I was on vacation. She passed away while helping with my oldest son, in my own living room. I know it sounds horrific, and it was...

But, it's over now and I'm back on track to finding the "Old Jenn".

I am sorry to hear about your loss. I was curious how things were. Reading some of the thread back and another you started a bit ago, I see a lot has happened since we last talked.
I do hope you will find the old Jenn again, rebuild her and make a new and improved Jenn. I hope we can continue to talk.
