Well, speaking for only myself here. - I love the idea of being Dominant AND submissive. Here's my personal definition, it's about trust, control, and freedom all at the same time

Trust- both partners have to have a lot of trust
Control- the D controls most of the tempo action and direction
Freedom- the submissive let's go completely, just following, there is a freedom in that kind of submission

I'm not shy about how I feel so I'll just keep it here -

*Deep breath* Personally, I get a little aggravated over the wrap that D/s lifestyle gets. I've been an active part of it, off and on, for a few years now and I've NEVER encountered anyone wearing a mask... lol.. It's just not the norm, or atleast in my circles. I've been to large warehouse type of clubs and seen all types of scenes. From bull whipping to electric play, feather play and ropes, crops and paddles and in every occurence the participants were involved in a very loving relationship. The people who play with crops and whips and ropes are those that enjoy the pain factor or the humiliation factor, but that doesn't necessarily encompass D/s lifestyle as a whole.
