we need a single word in english for "bad taste". however, in the proud tradition of english speakers through the centuries, i'd be just as happy to steal the word from another language.

i suppose gauche works but it doesn't work in enough outrage.

Insensitive, provactive, and hillarious....

I think I need a few more adjectives after insensitive in order to get to hillarious. I saw it on the news the other day. They have a message board but I'm out of time to go looking at the moment.

Maybe in another time it might have been amusing (not funny, just one of those things that might make me smirk a little bit) but I've never found this type of humour to be very funny, it has no lasting value, it's more like, "Heh, I get it, next." I appreciate a little cleverness, some subtlety in my humour, this has neither.

Edited to add:
There is one exception to the cleverness subtley rule, and that's fart gags, always the right time for a fart gag.

It's in very poor taste. And it could lead to a whole boatload of problems that you don't want if you wear it in the wrong place.
