Terminology help

So, the wife read 50 shades series and has found a side of herself. I'm liking it, so I thought I would do some reading as well. I read the term "I'd like to give you a good hiding, I would feel better and so would you".

Anyone provide me with a clue what he means?

It's slang for spanking/beating.

"Dad will tan my hide if I'm late for curfew"/etc.

Little hint, don't use 50 shades of gray as a guide on how to do this stuff as it was never meant as that (though I am astounded the impact that book has had, I thought this was something akin to when Medusa put out her "Sex" book many moons ago and all these Medusa wanna be's were hanging around BD/SM clubs and such because Medusa made it 'cool'...seems that book has touched a chord, all my sources in everything from adult boutiques and bookstores to hardware stores says it has lit a fire under a lot of people's lives.

Seriously, there are a lot of decent places to get information. I happen to be fond of books from the greenery press folks, but there are a ton of books out there and websites. Just beware of the person who says they know all about BD/SM because they read the Gor books, that is the first sign to run the other way *lol*...and don't remember to have fun with this stuff, people often end up turning it into another version of the valley of the stupid, where people get off on showing how they know the 'right way' rather than actually doing it
