Showers, baths, I love them. It's so much easier to start my day if I can spen 30 minutes in the morning just letting the hot water pound my muscles and there's nothing like a late night bubble bath. I take them two or three times a week. Grab a book and head for the tub. Heaven.

So tell me, are you a morning or night shower person? How long are you in there? Showers or baths? Conditioner? Poof? Wash cloth? Sponge? Bar soap? Tell me all!

Showers to start my day off but a nice long soak in the tub is how I end each day. I love all kinds of bath stuff from bubble bath to body scrubs and everything in between. I always get these kinds of things from my boys as gifts and I just love it because I know they actually take the time to smell the different ones and try to pick one out Mommy would like. Not bad for little boys.

This is really fucking funny. My shower is right now being dismantled by a plumber to repair a serious and annoying leak. And my hot water heater went out this morning. Thankfully I was able to squeeze in a fast but cool shower before it all went to shit here.

I am leaving town for the night so I guess it will all be worked out when I get home again.

These are the moments I wish I had some kind of man around. There are just some things I cannot do.

Showers every morning, helps get me awake and ready to do battle. Showers whenever during the rest of the day, as needed.

Haven't taken a bath in a number of years.

You're missing out. lol

My oldest friend was totally anit-bath until a few years ago when he lost a bet to me and had to take one WITH bubbles. lol He doesn't use bubbles on his own, but he rarely goes a week without a soak in the tub now. Just bought a jacuzzi tub last year. lol

i always feel like john travolta in the opening scene of saturday night fever when i'm in my shower getting ready to go out.

In the mornings, I'm an in and out kind of girl. I do what I have to do and I'm outta there. This usually consists of shampooing and washing my face simultanously, then rinsing and using deep conditioner because I have curls and they frizz like Phyllis Diller's. While that is doing its magic, I shave. Then I rinse the conditioner, grab the loofah and mud/salt glow/body wash (whichever I need the most at the time) and then apply and scrub. I'm done. Before drying off, I apply moisturizer everywhere, and then a little body spray. It all takes about 5 minutes.

When I take the time for a bath, I use one candle only because it sets a nicer mood for me than a bunch of candles. I use my spa attachment, add my own blend of bath salts and soap and a little baby oil. I get a glass of wine and the boom box, and lose myself to the point I have to keep adding hot water. I can spend a couple hours if I'm able to relax, or in a certain mood... usually though, I feel guilty for taking the time and so I get out within 30 minutes. While soaking, I do a facial, and shape my eyebows.
I'm not terribly good at the relaxation thing, it takes alot to get me there.

I could NEVER do that. lol My morning showers are after my morning swim (except for the next 7 weeks of course) and I need that long just to relax my muscles. lol

The best thing I've ever gotten for my brithday was a bathtub heater. Now I don't even have to refill.

I shower after I get home from taking the kids to school. Even though I'm alone, it's usually a fast one though.

I wash my face with Olay facial cleansing wipes before I get in. If I need to, I also do any necessary hair removal before I get in. Once in, I slather my face with Noxema and let it sit there while I wash my hair with Paul Mitchell's Awapuhi shampoo. I rinse my hair and then my face.

I use a poof and tea tree oil body wash everywhere else.

When I get out, I use Paul Mitchell leave in conditioner to tone down the frizzies that my hair is prone to, and then a relaxant made from hemp oil. Doesn't kill even a fraction of the curl, but it does keep me from looking like I have an afro.

I can't remember the last time I actually took the time to fill up the bathtub and soak.

Well, it comes from having kids. I have to do things systematically and quickly because they are a constant interruption...so I just learned to fly through the routine things. When they were younger, there were times I did really good to get a shower at all...and often had to force myself to.

A bathtub heater??? Tell me more.

Thanks for the mention of the Paul Mitchell conditioner. I have frizzies at the top and ringlets at the bottom, and its difficult to find something that works for both. What is the name of it?
Thanks again.

A nice long hot bath in the morning for me, please don't anyone come with in 10 feet of me until I'm done.......gurrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I have my own little routine.

I turn on the hot water, and while it's warming up, I pull the curtain closed and put my towel over the curtain (I have to have it handy to dry my face - I can't stand water in my eyes). Once the water is hot, I adjust the temperature and turn on the showerhead.

I put my hair up in a bun on the top of my head (I discovered a few months back that my back was never really getting washed due to my long hair) and hop in.

I wash my face and body with Cetophil's antibacterial body bar (it's the only thing I can use on my sensitive skin) and rinse. I shave my legs (and other parts!) every other day or so... so if it's one of those days, I shave next. Then I let down my hair and wash and condition it (no repeating - heh).

I rinse off everything again... and then hit my hair with a blast of cold water before turning it off and getting out.

I'm kinda anal about drying off, too. :) I hold the towel behind me and kinda shimmy it across my back... then I use the same side of the towel to dry off my frontside. I then flip the towel over and bend over with my hair hanging down in front of me. I use the side I didn't dry my body on to put my hair up in a towel turban. :D

My morning routine is almost OCD. Heh. If I do things out of order, my day just doesn't seem to run right.

On a normal work day for me, it's a quick shower. Only because some dumb fuck before has taken his 30 minute shower and used up all the hot water.

But almost every night I lock myself in the bathroom for a good hour. I light candles everywhere. Put on a little jazz. Place some home made bath salts under the tap and sink into the tub. Sometimes with a good book. Sometimes a glass of wine or tea. Most of the time its just me alone in there with my thoughts.

I long for a giant clawfoot tub big enough for two.

All I will say is..........The things you can do with a pulsating showerhead........;) :p

I don't know if this is the one I have, but it's the same idea. I'm not sure if they make them for regular tubs, but if they do I'm getting one for the claw foot in my second floor bathroom.

No, since it hooks up to the jets, it wouldn't work for mine. I'm not staying here anyway, so maybe someday, somewhere else?:)

I'm betting there is a way to design one for your claw foot tub. God, I love them!

I'm in love with my hand heald.

I forgot to go through my own routine. lol

When I get home frim swimming I brew myself some hot tea (unless hubby has done it for me) and take a mug upstairs with me. Then I hop in the shower and stand there under the while the water beats (we have a fixture with muliti jets so the water is hitting my from above and behind) for maybe ten minutes. Shampoo my hair (no repeat lol) with Citrus Shine moisturizing shampoo, then I put in either the instant or the revitalizing conditioner and use a pic to get out any knots. Then while I'm rincing my hair I use a poof and shower gel (I change the type to suit my mood or skin care need), wash my face with Burt's Bees tomato soap, stand there for another 5 minutes, blast my hair with cold water and get out.

When I shave I do it before I shower with moisturizer instead of shaving cream. I go through more blades, but my skin is much smoother for it.

Then I moisturize everywhere with vitamin C lotion.

Last spring I took what was a horridly unkempt, ugly, and rather lifeless masterbathroom and redecorated it to be as close to my dream bath as possible. It is a standard bathroom, no fancy tub or anything wanton like that, but I saw some potential in it, so I did it up right, and I love my bathroom now, so bathing is a treat, rather than a task to me now.

See, I am a hippy. Hippies like water, but they don't like soap. We like to slather ourselves in oils and other stinky shit instead, but really, it is pretty bad when you've not showered in a while on the road and you can roll the dirt off your forarm with your finger. It is, to say the least, skanky. So, I came to love bathing by a hatred for skank, not love of soap.

So as a result of that, I am a minimalist with bath products.

To begin my shower, I light my candles, turn on my heater, turn off the lights, and lay an old towel out onto the floor over the rug because I am a particular dork.

If I am showering, I sometimes don't light the candles, but with a bath it is a must.

I usually stand under the stream of water until I am soaked, and then I will soap up my hair. I tend to do this because I put my conditioner in and leave it in while I shave.

I will shave and have a good follow up soaping, and then I rinse my body off, then turn the water cold and rinse my hair, and then the rest of my body gets a good cold spray. If I were going to soak in a bath for pleasure, but needed to be cleaner than I am to remain in a bath, I'd soap up once, do my hair and then rinse, but save the shaving till I am in the bath. Then I'd run my bath, and I usually take Epsome salts that I've prepared oils like sandalwood, lilac oil, jasmine, amber, or patchouli. I keep them stored in corked glass bottles in the bathroom to add to my bath when I need them.

I use a clear liquid gel soap made from herbs that are just the right blend for my skin type. I have a couple of nice bath foamies.. what are those things called? Well, I have a big green one with a long handle on it so you can do your back, I have a purple braided one that is about a foot and a half long and has rope handles on either end that you can tug across your ass. It feels soooo gooooooooood! Then I have an glacier blue (thanks morgy) one that is just the poof on a little rope to hang it from. I use Suave Humectant that is baisically Nexxus, which was my former shampoo of choice, but the price is ludacris.

When I am done in my time in heaven, I have nice plush, new towels to get out to, and dry off. They are so nice. I got so fucking lucky on Vetran's Day and got them all for half off. I found the most amazing selection of colors, and so I splurged, without splurging. It was so cool. :D

Anyway, a year ago, I could have given a shit about baths. I love them now.

Wierd.

I am getting old, aren't I?

LMAO

I recycle EVERYTHING, I don't use paper plates or cups or plastic ware. I don't use harmful chemicals in my lawn or garden, I don't litter, I am an earth friendly chica.

But don't fuck with my shower. :D

I'm a shower every morning kind of girl. I have a tub of that warming sugar scrub that I rub all over my dry body before getting beneath the hot shower. Works wonders for smooth skin, and keeps the annoying skin dryness away. Then I wet my hair, massage my scalp and rinse, then saturate it with conditioner, usually the Aussie 3-minute miracle. I don't use shampoo, it dries out my naturally ringlet curly hair too much. While I'm waiting for the conditioner to work, I use a glycerine/olive oil bar soap scented with vanilla or amaretto all over on a loofah and shave if needed. I use Basis soap on my face and neck. Rinse conditioner mostly out.

Once out of the shower, I dry my hair and wrap it up in the towel, then stand and drip dry for a minute before slathering on Neutrogena sesame oil mixed with a little vanilla bath/massage oil all over my almost dry body. Yummy! Super soft skin that smells fabulous!

At night, if I'm feeling particularly dirty, especially after a few hours at the barn, I do indulge in a nice long bath, usually with the vanilla bath oil. I hang out in the tub until my skin prunes, and have been known to fall asleep.

No heavy editing needed, its true. :)

I never was a morning girl, and much less an in and out girl, until recently. Now, the moment my eyes open...
