teacher/student clichés

I have the story finished, I'm waiting for the word in the Editor's forum on what genre it's under.

It's definitely not normal. XD

Sticking solely to the theme (as in students and teachers alone). I only think I've written one story so far that sticks to one single theme.

I think it would be really hard (haha) to write a story that only fits in one catagory. It seems like it would be limiting what they do or who the characters are.

DIY - I'm intrigued by your story line and look forward to reading it. I few colleagues i know who sleep with students do it mostly because they are just total assholes. a few end up in situations and actually date, or marry their students, not too many though. most just enjoy using them and using their power over them to seduce them. without a doubt there are many cases too where students seduce their profs, but even in those cases, it is usually only after the prof has opened themselves up to such a relationship, thus really initiating things, just not being as forceful in it....

I had my own situation with a teacher. It started in 8th grade actually. She started out as a very sweet friend, she was just out of college herself--21 years old. She was living in a new town too (I had just moved there after my father retired from the Air Force). We hung out together during the summer and stuff. It was almost like we were just a couple of teens. Only thing is, when I went to High school, she became my Home Ec teacher. Now, I knew I liked girls from the time I was like 12. I don't remember how they progressed, but they did. I was the only girl on a football team for miles around (played freshman football). She came to all my games. I was open to the relationship. Kind of funny....cuz I've been into older women my whole life since then!

One cliché I've noticed is the female student stereotype. As if they are only three types of girls that have sex with their teachers.

1) The Slut: most common. The girl who shows cleavage, wears make up and usually has a thong on under her skirt. She'll do obviously "slutty" things like lick her lips, wink, cross and uncross her legs. The teacher is always fantisizing about fucking her. he knows that she's done at least half the boys in school. If she has an attitude, then he'll "teach her a lesson", often by spanking her or forcing her to give him a blowjob.

2) The Idiot: probably the silliest and most fun to write. She's not actually stupid. She's just oblivious the her dirty old teacher is wanting to screw her like he's the Big Bad Wolf. No doubt her grades are slipping and she'll do anything to raise them, not thinking that that would involve using her body. She is shocked at the proposal but ALWAYS ends up loving it.

3)The Loser: more prominent in film than in literature. Also the one I find most interesting. Her grades can either be good or bad, its doesn't matter. Her parents are probably divorced, she has little or no friends, maybe someone she knows just died or is in prison. Shes not an absolute prude but socially she is the opposite of the slut. Her emotional vulnerability makes her easy sexual prey to anyone with authority or offering guidance. Shes lonely a lot and somehow just wants a nice warm cock to suck.

I would like to know: what made The Slut so slutty? Why is The Idiot always so naive yet eager to please? How many men are actually attracted to The Loser type?

Funny in the first story I am really sitting down and finishing the main character is a little of all 3 of these but neither her nor the male are a student or teacher. I'm hoping it comes out well. I realize several of the elements of the story are cliche but if the show Californication taught me anything its that cliches can be done well with good writers (hopefully you guys don't hate that show or my point is for naught ha-ha). I'll post more on my story for feedback sometime soon...

The being raped and ending up liking it angle is a bit played out but I'm still hot for it. I was listening to a radio show in LA and they had girls calling in about their rape fantasies it was wonderful radio a lot of them were stating how turned on they got from a movie where a chick gets gang banged I can't remember what movie it was though, it was really popular with a very popular actress being raped on a pin ball machine or juke box? GAH its name escapes me! :(

Hey man LusciousLoralie you have a nice profile pic. from where you got this. plz give me this pic

I've started writing a story in which I attempt to cover all of the cliches inherent in the school stories - the basketball team, teacher, cheerleader lesbian orgy in the locker room, the works.

To be honest, while there's enough there to to perhaps keep someone interested, it's been a great excersise in what to avoid. And I had to stop and fifty-odd pages. . .

Why does the student have sex with the teacher for a better grade every time?

Wouldn't it be more erotic if despite age differences or their situation, that the teacher and student felt an uncommon bond, maybe one they didn't fully understand, but that they needed to be together, consequences be damned.

Why not a true love teacher-student story, instead of 'i'll suck your cock for an A'

are all teacher/student stories cliches? or is there an aspect of them that is?

i find stories that play upon stereotypes to be tiring - the hung black guy in particular.

the other i find disturbing is how every woman who is raped ends up enjoying it.
Writers write cliché because they understand stereotype more than archetype. :)

Archetype is merely a professorial word for stereotype. It enables academics to accuse others of the same blindered thinking that they themselves employ. There are, of course, some sterling exceptions but they don't use the word archetype in any case.

Not deeper?

One with a twist

I am thinking about a story with a different twist on this old chestnut.

The 'teacher' here is a private tutor and her subject is sexual technique - okay dad takes his son to an experienced lady to learn to be a man :) - but that is only part of it. 'Teacher' meets up with one of her past 'students' with his new girlfriend and she sets out to seduce the girlfriend then give them both the advanced course.

It might fly, or it might fall flat on its face. I won't know until I start writing it.

What do you think?

I think it has possibilities. I even wrote one that had some of those aspects, but I like your version. Go for it.

Cynic that I am, yes.

Well we could do that all day...

BTW, fantasy is fantasy remember. I can see why it might be too close for comfort for you, but the teacher-student fantasy is a common one. I worked in a school. All that young energy around all the time? And the stuff these kids wear!? Sheesh.

You don't have to literalize something to have a fantasy about it. ;)

Let's just say that given the age of student I deal with, no fantasies are good fantasies. College would be a completely different thing, though I prefer faculty/faculty fuckelty. :D I even wrote a novel along those lines. Stella is editing it now. It does have one scene that might be a student/professor encounter but all I did was imply that the guy was a lot younger than the department chair and that she was flattered that he wanted her.

I've had to deal with too many little crushies, some of them really uninhibited, to be comfortable with this particular genre.

Brrr . . .

Can you imagine a twelve year old offering to model for a painting?:eek::eek:

Her mother and I firmly but kindly discouraged her.

Guess I should have said, I worked in a HIGH SCHOOL. Yeah, middle school, I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole. Talk about crazy hormones. And kids who have NO idea what to do with all that energy. Eek!

And, to be honest, at that age I'd rather that they didn't know what to do with all that energy. We have enough trouble with them beginning to figure things out in the spring as it is. :D
