That tattoo was very indulgant of me, usually Im not too much of a fan of the idea of having a language I don't even read on myself, but damnit, it's pretty and its mysterious and I love it anyhow. I did make the effort to find a calligrapher that did custom work by hand so that it was truely unique and not a 'type style', which I think really makes it stand out from a lot of other chinese and japanese tattoos out there.

So this calligrapher made the word and you took a copy in for your artist to trace?? I would have the words because of the unknown factor.

Yup, the calligrapher made it specifically for tattoo and provided me with the outline, tattoo-stencil-style so there was no mistake as to how the lines should go. I had him do a few variations of the translation I wanted and had him explain to me exactly what each translated to in english to get that which was closest to what I wanted.

For instance, it says "Her jewel" or even more specifically, "Her precious stone". We specifically wanted "Her garnet", but the translation came across in english as "Her pomegranet" which is how the word garnet translates into english. Since it didn't translate to being a the specific stone/jewel we wanted, we didn't chose that translation, per his advice. Most people make huge mistakes with these things because they don't understand how basic these translations come across. I asked about "Her submissive" but he told me that the translation would not come across in english as positively as I wanted, so again, we didn't chose that option. I don't think he would have done it even if we wanted it anyhow, as he refuses to do any translations that don't come across in English the way the wearer intended them.

very wise of him I would say to do that it protects his reputation in a manner of speaking and gives you what you want too.

Now I just need to get up the nerve to ask a good MALE friend of mine if he will "chaperone" me..... I have no idea how to ask as I think he figures me for "straight Vanilla"... I hide my kinky side fairly well... sometimes too well...

There is something comforting and reassuring in the assignment and completion of tasks. They are finite and there is a pass/fail element to them.

One knows if they have pleased.

I do like those aspects of tasks.
