heretics are rare. 'doms', self labeled, are common currency. at bit like the loonie, these days.

or course, find who you are in sexual orientation. the question is,
'what do you expect it will bring?'

if i know someone's had a frustrating life, and they say, "I've decided i'm gay" what should i expect? clearly it depends on figuring out, how many of the frustrations were due to not realizing one is gay, covering it up etc.

anyway, rg, i wish you luck. i'd suggest that the 'trick' is to be an individual. more interesting than 'are you a dom' is 'which of the 857 variieties of doms do you intend to become?' 'does it depend on the lady involved?'

if i may make an analogy, "i'm going to be a dom" or "I am a dom" is about as informative as "i see for myself a career in sales" or "i've decided i was born to sell.".

Yes it is. But inflicting pain is a good way to show dominance. Also it triggers endorphins that can cause a high. Used in judicious amounts it adds a lot to the sub's experience.

I just finished The Dark Garden by Eden Bradley. It has wonderful descriptions of the sub going into 'subspace'. I happen to have an autographed advanced reading copy.

Any time you need to be tied up, just ask.

I've been practicing with my flogger using a pillow. Forehand, backhand, making sure I can hit what I'm aiming at. Also important is the force. Most subs, from what I can understand, prefer a slow build up. First strokes really not much more than a caress. From there, build slowly. A good Dom knows his sub's limits.

Can't say I care much for pain myself. As a character said in Hypothesis, "It's useful for discipline, arousing as part of my power but little interest to me in itself."

Not bad. Slapping a flogger into the palm of your hand to make a sharp 'snap' helps.
