Anyone know how to get the white spots out of a table...a have a few and I need to get rid of them..If I cant find any remedy I guess Ill have to sand them out and refinish
I'll second NM's questions, but if they're something like water spots and the table is stained wood, you can buy special markers to cover such marks in most hardware/home and furniture/wood stores. In places like Home Depot, they're usually with the wood stains, glues and refinishing products. They come in several different tones to match different finishes, and there are directions on the package.
Depend on (a) how hard you want to work and (b) the value of the table.
If the table is valuable - take to someone who restores funiture.
If it's not - The stain is a discoloration of the varnish by water. To repair the stains you can cover them up (never really works that well) or remove the varnish and refinish (a lot of work).
Sometimes the stain will have penetrated through the varnish to the wood. In that case you are pretty much screwed.
In any case, don't set your plants, glasses, etc. on varnished surfaces. This is what you get.
