Final Harry Potter
Titles 'Revealed'

THE secret of the final two Harry Potter books may be out, it has been revealed.

The sixth and seventh instalments could be called Harry Potter And The Mudblood Revolt and Harry Potter And The Quest Of The Centaur.

Both names were registered as trade marks with the UK Patent Office six weeks ago.

They were registered by a company called Seabottom Productions - which, according to The Sun, shares an office with the London lawyers of Warner Brothers, the studio which made the Potter films.

If genuine, they provide a huge clue to the content of JK Rowling's final books about the schoolboy wizard.

But Potter fans pointed out that other titles had been registered over the years - such as Harry Potter And The Pyramids Of Furmat - which have never seen the light of day.

The revelation sparked keen debate on Potter Web sites, with most agreeing that the titles were just a way of keeping people guessing.

One said: "These titles are too lame and cheesy. I believe JK Rowling will surprise us with something a bit more creative."

From AOL News 3 Sept 03

I might go for the second one, the one about the centaur, but I seriously doubt the first. I don't think that JKR would ever use the word "mudblood" in her title.

They could be alternative titles for the US market.

That gets confusing. I have book collectors who want every book by an author. They rush in demanding a title that they haven't read and are disappointed when I tell them that they already have the book. The only thing changed is the title and US instead of UK spelling. Agatha Christie, C S Forester and Clive Cussler are particular examples.

I can understand changing the title of Christie's Ten Little Niggers but why they changed the others?

And we all know the vigorous source critisism by our friends at The Sun, right? ;)

I'm starting the rumour that the last two HP books will be called:

6. Harry Potter & The Baboon’s Thunder-Mug.
7. Harry Potter & His Close-Shaved Bottom.

Does anybody wish to send that to the Sun
(The family journal, not the celestial body)

I am appalled to learn that Warner Brothers’ UK law firm is so underpaid that they must share lodgings.

I'd be kind of interrested in a venture to send stuff into the latter. Just for the heck of it.
