Hi, so I wrote a few one-shot stories, all of them erotic fan fiction, and I need a beta. My struggle is grammar/spelling, pacing and beats between diolouge. You don't need to know about the fandom, as it's mostly smut with the characters from that series as the main characters.

One is pretty vanilla. It's a Final Fantasy 7: Genesis x reader story in which the reader is taken in by Genesis to heal from a cold, and while she is lodging, they get freaky.

The other is BDSM with has hints of humiliation in it and its semi based on a true story but its also a Final Fantasy 7 fic, where I am the main character who is staying in a psych ward when I am approached by Sephiroth and we do the nasty in a private room.

There is also one long fic and its multifandom (Harry Potter, Winx, Final Fantasy 7, Hunger Games and Sims 4) but is set in Victorian Scotland. The only fandoms you really have to know is Harry Potter and Sims 4 (which there isn't a lot of lore) I haven't gotten to the smut yet and I'm five chapters deep.

Note: For the fic mentioned above, I will not be using the underage characters. The main characters in this fic are Sirius (33), Valtor (30s), Sephiroth (Late 20s), and Finnick (25)

I really need help before I post.

Forget the Harry Potter element. Lit doesn't allow fan-fic whether the original characters started out under eighteen.

You might want to move this or duplicate it in the Editors Forum.

Katniss was initially 16, too!

Be careful, OP. If you are writing this with specific intention to publish it on Lit, you might have to rework things before you invest too much time on a story which may be rejected...

I suspect you're sailing very close to the line of falling foul of this condition:

Copyrighted material for which the submitter is not the owner of the copyright, or for which the submitter does not have an explicit license from the copyright owner to publish the work at Literotica.

I'm not gonna tell you what to do, and if fanfiction really is your jam roll with it, but if I could suggest something, that might also help on Lit, you COULD rework your stories to make them about original characters.

To be blunt, you could literally just change the names and tweak their backstory. Plenty of authors have done exactly that - just look at 'Twilight' and '50 Shades of Grey'.

(Regarding your question specifically, I am interested in beta-reading in principle, but not sure how much I could help with fanfiction. If you feel most of the appeal comes down to 'I really like those specific characters' and reading requires adequate backstory knowledge to appreciate why it is interesting that they are doing what they are doing, then I'm not sure my feedback would be helpful.)

That applies to works not characters, since the site has a fan fiction category.

OP isn't trying to submit a Harry Potter book that Rowling wrote, just using characters from the book, for example.

I think they do, but you can also find dedicated betas on Reddit and in writing Discords like the Erotica Abyss.

For things like grammar and spelling, and when used judiciously, tools like Grammarly and ProWritingAide can be very useful.
For pacing, I use the Immersive Reader in Word to listen to what I wrote. Your ears are probably better at pacing than your eyes.
