OOC: That's it for the reunion? Hmmm alright.

O'Shien came downstairs just in time to hear the odd fellow from the night before in another row, this time with the Sheriff it appeared. O'Shien again wanted no part of it, undue attention and all that. At first he had been nervous the Sheriff was there to talk to him about the shooting the previous day, but his nervousness seemed unfounded. He took Julia's hand gently and descended the stairway, taking her in his arms and kissing her gently before entering the dining hall. He was afraid this girl had made him soft overnight, his need to have her close by and feel her touch growing as the morning wore on. He paused, looking at her confused as he saw her mouth open and close while looking at the man and his colored slave. "You know them lass?" He asked her, studying the two closer than he had before.

O'Shien's touch to her hand brought a smile to Julia's face. She wondered why he had stopped walking so abruptly a few minutes ago as they walked down the stairs. She looked at him again and another smile found its way to her face as they reached the inns first floor. Before they entered the dining room O'Shien pulled her into his arms for a passionate kiss. After his sweet kiss he held onto her as they walked into the dining room. Julia looked around the room, her eyes rested on two people who looked familiar and then her mouth dropped. O'Shien asked her what was the matter and she stammered and turned to him so her back was toward the two she knew.

"T-those are the two people I was with before you, O'Shien. You know the two who were fornicating with me right there"

Hmmm. He'd observed the man on a couple of occassions now and thought him a strange customer. He looked like he knew how to use the gun he carried, but he also seemed so completely out of place with his values, insisting a colored woman eat with him... He shrugged slightly, turning back to Julia. "Well lass, do ye want to go over and say hello? Or should we just live and let live? Because I definetly need to get some breakfast in me before we hit the trail again, and this is really the only place in town where I'm likely to get anything besides hardtack..." He smiled at her, his hand resting on her back.

The courtesy rule of the South was embedded in Julia. A little show of emotions in her eyes told the story of a woman trying to decide what was right to do. She looked up at O'Shien and then spoke.

"Well, they were kind to me but still I feel a bit strange, I kind of walked out on them, you see"

She hoped O'Shien would make the decision which was quite unlike her but manners of the South bade her to say hello.

"Well lass ye should probably at least let them know that ye've found safety in these dangerous lands, or at least that I'm not holdin' ya against your will. I'd hate to see it come down to that strange feller attempting to blast me because he thought I was kidnapping ya.." His hand drifted further down her back, his fingers brushing her butt slightly. She had truly awoken a dormant need in him last night. It was as if he couldn't keep his hands off her now. O'Shien Toole, the Irish Ghost, the very definition of the lone gunman was finally laid low, and not by another man's bullet or sword, but by a woman's touch. He smiled slightly. There were worse ways to go.

He took her hand gently, walking towards an open table in the middle of the room. Several patrons averted their eyes when they saw him and his beautiful traveling companion, not wanting to even risk his wrath after what had happened the previous day. He stood and walked to the counter, ordering them both some food as he looked around the room, keeping one eye on Julia the whole time.

Julia enjoyed O'Shien carresses as he spoke to her. He had walked her to a center table and went to order food. She thought of what he had said and knew she would have to be strong once more and confront two kind people from her very short past. She looked at O'Shien and smiled and walked over to Alex's table.

"Hello Alex and Cassi"

She looked at the woman she did not know and then back at Alex.

"I just wanted to say thank you for your hospitality on the trail and tell you not to worry about me. I am perfectly fine and here in town with a friend"

She smiled at them warmly.

"Hello Alex and Cassi"

"Mornin Miz Julia, I's shore glad ta be aseein yore alive. I's was afeared them dogs might.. ...." Cassi didn't finish her thought as she looked down feeling a rush of nervousness run down her spine.

"I just wanted to say thank you for your hospitality on the trail and tell you not to worry about me. I am perfectly fine and here in town with a friend"

Cassi looked over Julia's friend, then gave a shy smile under the tilted head. "Well I's best be aheadin ta get Masser Alex and his wifes things ready fer travelin, Excuse me please."

With that she headed straight for the stairs before she betrayed the pretense that was needed to protect Alex, Jenny, David and herself.

When Julia had approached, I had stood up as Cassi greeted her. After a few short words, Cassi excused herself and went upstairs. We all watched as she disappered up the stairs.

I introduced Jenny to Miss Julia and asked that she sit for a minute. I offered her coffee or something to drink. I then eplained to her that Jenny was my wife and David my son. Cassi was a friend traveling with us to help Jenny and the baby. We had lost our farm to carpetbaggers and were now heading to our inlaws.

"Julia, Ask your friend to come over. I would like to talk with him if it is alright by you." I asked. "We are making a swap for another wagon and we are still heading west. There is plenty of land and space there for all. Maybe you and your friend would like to join us?

Jenny sat with Alex and Miss Julia at the table david still being fussy jenny tryed her hardest to calm him but it was no use he was hungry and nothing short of being fed was going to quite him down.feeling uncomftorable at the table with the new strangers and the stress of having to continue with their sherade with so many people now watching them jenny smiled at Julia and lifted the crying Davif to her shoulder.

turning to Alex with a distressed look " darling im sorry but i have to go feed david." turning to Miss Julia she gave a weak smile " im sorry mam. it was nice to meet you. but you'ss have to excuse us." she indicated the baby on her shoulder. and stood with Alex pulling the chair out for her.

she slowly made her way ut of the main hall and up the stairs. once she reached the safety of their rooms she could hear Cassi moving around gathering and packing her and Alex' belongings. Jenny called out as she closed the door.
"Cassi i had to come up and feed david. but since i already have our things packed i thought that after i feed him i would take one more trip to the church before we leave." Cassi came into the room she still looked a bit shaken from what had happened down stairs and jenny understood her feelings.

" Alex is still down stairs talking with that lady Miss Julia and her friend."
Cassi was still moving about the room and nodded as jenny told her about Alex.suddenly she began to hum. to jenny it was such a soothing sound that she was able to completely relax as she unbuttoned her blouse and guided little david to her breast. once he had began to suckle and wuited down jenny leaned back in the chair she was sitting in and closed her eyes listening to the humming that was filling the room.

Julia listened to Alex and managed to keep her face from looking surprised at what Alex was saying. She could not imagine why he was lieing especially to her. Perhaps he did not know that she had heard Cassi and him in the wee hours of the morning. What was this all about?

She smiled and told him she would be right back she would ask her friend if he wanted to sit with them awhile. She walked over to O'Shien and stood in front of him so her back was to the small group behind her.

"O'Shien, They want us to join them but I must tell you this before we go there. Alex is telling a fantastic lie that the new woman with them is his wife and the baby his child. I don't understand why he is doing this but I want you to be aware that when I was with them he had no wife and child and Cassi was his lover. Do you want to go over there"

She was surprise when O'Shien nodded as he stood and took hold of her arm and walked with her across the room to their table. He even held her chair as she sat down. She noticed he sat between herself and Alex. Julia sat quietly as the two men talked.

O'Shien frowned as Julia spoke to her. This man seemed very odd to him. He nodded as Julia told himn about the lie he had told her, wondering why he would hide something like that from someone he had travelled with. The man was an enigma and he wanted to size him up to make sure he wouldn't be a threat to him or Julia. He stood, taking Julia's arm, somewhat possessively, but gently as he moved towards the table. He pulled her chair out and kissed her on the top of the head as he sat down, putting himself between the strange man and Julia, his hands ready to dart for his pistols at any moment if necessary..

Julia watched how O'Shien was sitting. By now she knew when he was on the ready for trouble. She wondered what he expected Alex to do. She prepared herself to watch O'Shien back as she would on the trail.

"Mr. O'Shien, before we start, I am going to do two things to prove I am no threat. My Sharps in leaning against the wall behind me and one of my two pistols is in it's holster where it belongs. The other pistol is on the table under the table rag." I careful lifted the rag and there was my other pistol. With just my index finger, I pushed the barrel 180 degrees so that the handle was towards him and away from me.

I sat down and placed both my hands on top of the table and poured a cup of coffee. I kept both hands on the cup in fromt of me and in plain sight. " I in no way want to or have a need to cause you or Julia and harm."
Let me explaine. The day after Julia left our camo, we came on Jenny and the baby in an overturned wagon. Her and her husband were attacked most likley by bandits and when the wagonwent over the just kept on riding. But her husband was killed in the attack.

To make travelinfg easier, Jenny is my wife and the baby,"David", is my son. Cassi is a friend of the family, helping to take care of jenny and the baby. If you haven't notice, Jenny is very young and she needs help. Well Cassi and I are that help. I am trying to get her to her parents on the Georgia line near the Tenn. border. Them we are heading west. If we can't find her parents or family, she said she will travel with us till she is able to find a place for herself and the boy baby. Julia there is no secret, no lie. this all happened after you left.

"Mr. O'Shien, I took on the responsibility of Jenny and David and so that is what I intend to do. We get a new wagon before noon and we will be packed and loaded in the hour. We are leaving this here lovely town at their request." If you do not want to be seen, leaving with us, you can leave earlier or after us and we will meeet up 10 miles down the road.

I am only one man and one gun to get two women and one child to saftey. For myself If I was alone there would be no question. Yes I could use the help as well as the companionship of another man. That's been mighty scarce since my Captain died.

Let me know. I will be at the Livery getting ready in about 30 minutes, I have to meet the sherriff. That will tell the story on staying or going.

"Well sir. Do you have any questions???????????"

having finished feeding david jenny made herself presentable and holding the sleeping baby in her arms she smiled at Cassi who was now sitting on the bed in silence. "cassi i am taking david to the church. we will be back shortly." Cassi gave jenny a look that told her that Alex wasn't going to be happy about her taking david and leaving the hotel alone.

but jenny just smiled and opened the door with one last look back at Cassi jenny softly shut the door and walked down the stairs turning towards the outer door jenny steped out into the bright sunshine. pulling the blanket to cover davids tiny face she started across the street to the church.

opening the large door jenny waited for her eyes to adjust a little before steping in and closing the door behind her. slowly walking to the front of the church jenny kneeled down infront of the large cross and lowered her head crossing her self jenny closed her eyes and sent a silent prayer to the heavens that her husband would watch over their until they reached safety.

standing jennny lit two candles one for her husband and one for her parents. turning jenny headed back out onto the street. the sunshine was blinding after the dark interoir of the church. she stood there blinking her eyes for a moment and then headed back across the street. as she crossed the street she looked down towards a large gathering of people out side of the sheriffs office.

seemed somthing was going on or at the least something was about to happen.
she could hear angry voices being raised as the sheriff and his men tryed to calm the crowd down. he did not apear to be doing a very good job becuase there was no sign that those men and wemon where going anywhere until they where heard.

shaking her head Jenny held the baby a little closer and opened the door to the inn. the pleasant smells from the main hall greeted her sinces as she steped into the large building. deciding it would be best to make sure that Alex had not gone back up to the room before she headed up herself. she steped into the dining hall and seen that he was indeed in deep conversation with Miss Julia and her friend.

turning she headed back up the stairs, as she went she seen the man that had shown them to their room last night. she gave him a bright smile but he seemed to only glare at her. his look sent a cold chill down her spine and jenny turned to the stairs and took them as quickly as she could. reaching the rooms she slung the door opened and steped inside slaming it behind her.

Cassi was standing at the window the sun shining through the open curtains.
jenny stood there watching the woman she had grown so close to.
jenny tryed to smile but Casi could see she had been upset by something came over and took the sleeping david from her arms. the baby laying contentedly on the big bed the two wemon waited togethor in silence for Alex to return to the room.

Julia looked at O'Shien wondering what he would say to all this. She wondered if he wanted to join their party. She would do whatever he decided as she trusted his judgement. She looked around the room and noticed some people watching them. Of course they would considering O'Shien reputation.

The room had become very quiet and I noticed Julia scan the room. I now felt it too. Something was not right. Not right at all. I heard voices out in the street, but I dismissed that as not important. How mistaken I was and I was going to find out very soon.

"You go and eat your breakfast and talk it over, I have to be going. I hope you decide to ride with us. Bye for now." I stood and said , "Good to see again, Miss Julia and to meet you Sir." I picked up my pistol and slid it into my belt and turned and picked up my Sharps and left the room and climbed the stirs to our rooms.

I entered the room and I saw Cassi and Jenny right away as I closed the door behind me. Both the ladies standing and looking out the window.

"Everything ready to go?", I asked as they turned as I entered the room.

O'Shien waited until he had risen and left the dining room before looking at Julia. "I do nae know how you feel about his offer lass, but I am not taken with it. This fellow seems to draw a lot of attention to himself, and that leads to trouble in the long run. I think we might be better striking out on our own again. Just the two of us on the road love." He said with a wink, pulling her close and giving her another kiss, glaring at all those in the tavern, wondering what was going on outside.

Julia smiled at O'Shien as their kiss ended.

"I am happy being just with you O'Shien but if you wanted to travel with them, that would be alright too. I will follow your lead to where ever you want to go. I cover your back remember"

She laughed as she knew their relationship was more then that now.

"O'Shien, did you notice something is going on outside, do you think it has anything to do with us"

Jenny turned to look over her shoulder as the door opened. she did not bother to try smiling. Cassi still hadn't looked away from the growing group of angry people outside. and jenny too turned back to the window to look out onto the street.the group seemed to have grown in size since she left the church.

Alex' voice broke into their private thoughts as he entered the room closing the door behind him."Everything ready to go?" she didn't know when it had happened but some time while watching the proceedings outside she and Cassi and grasped hands and where holding tight to each other. turning towards Alex,
Jenny released Cassi's hand and shook her head.

" yes we have everything ready to go." she couldn't help but think that it would be better if they left the wagon adn took what they had. there was something very wrong with what was going on down in the street infront of the sheriffs office. she could already feel her stomache growing tighter at the thought of having to walk with her baby out into that crowd of angry people.

Cassi and Jenny looked at each other. leaving the window jenny went to the bed and crabed up the sleeping david. craddling him in her arms and rocking back and forth. " when i came back fromt he church.... i seen them. i didn;t think anything of it... but somthing isn't right down there." noding her head towards the window jenny slowly got up and waled back to stand by cassi and looked out the window. her heart was pounding in her chest and she could feel the sweat starting to gather on her lower lip and forhead.

I went over to the two women and stood between them and putting my arms aroud each shoulders and gave them a squeeze.

"Everything is going to be alright!" I said. We will go down by the outside stairs at the end of the hall. It is father away then going out the front door. We will cross to the Church and pass through and then using the Livery Barn to get to our old wagon.

Cassi you take one bundle and I the Other and Jenny you take care of David. We moved quickly and we left the room and moved off down the hall to the outside stairs to the ground. I opened the door and there was no one there and we decended to the street. At the end of the Inn, I checked the street and everyone seemed to be interested on what was being said at the sherriffs office.

Jenny crossed first and then Cassi and I followed. We entered the church through the side door and crossed over and out the other side and then across the road. Using the Livery barn and out building we made it all the way to our wagon. Cassi and I threw our bundles in the back and Cassi took the baby and Jenny climbed up and was surprised to fin a second seat behind the driver and wooden crate set us as a craddle for David. I smiled up at Jenny as Cassi handed up the baby.

"Jenny you stay and stay out of sigh, Cassi you come with me." as I put the Sharps on the drivers seat. We went up to the Livery barn and quickly put the harnesses on our team of horses and then I pulled another set of draft horses out and they too were quickly set up. I led out our two saddle horses and signaled Cassi to take her pair of horses to the wagon.

Arriving back at the wagon we hitched up out pair first and then the second pair up front. I thread all the lines and checked all the tack. Everything was tight and correctly connected.

I tied of the one saddle hosre to the back of the wagon and then saddled mine. I put the sharps in to the saddle boot and took out the new repeating rife. It was fully loaded. next the shotgun, loaded and senr on the floor of the drivers seat.

I helped Cassi up and gave her an extra squeeze on her ass that she could not help but notice.

"Cassi, I sure hope you can drive this four-up team." I smiled, "I have faith you can. I mounted my horse and pulled up net to Cassi in the drivers seat and handed her the small pistol. It has five shots, the hammer lays on an empty chamber. To fire, you point and pull back this hammer unti you hear a click and then you pull the trigger. You shoot just like pointing you finger. You do it each time you fire. There is a little bock right in front of you, place the pistol there.

I showed her quidkly how to hold the reins and then I rode up to the lead horse and taking him by his halter and pulling him along, the other horses followed and the wagon srarted to move. I led us bown a small rutted road that came back out to the main road about one mile outside of town. We were covered by trees and bushes and no one saw us leave

We were quiet and none of us talked, we seemed to be holding our breath. David even cooperated and slept throug the entire eposode. Well we were on our way and I guessed no to soon. I would breath easier when we put some distance between us and this town.

We came out on the main road heading west and crossed a bridge accross the river and climbed up the small rise on the other side. I looked back down the road from the top of the rise back into town. There was no one following us right now and I told Cassi ti let the horses have their head and we picked up a little speed. The road was straight and I was not afraid to let Cassi run the team. She was doing real good.

"Everything ready to go?", I asked as they turned as I entered the room.

"Yes Sirrah." Cassi replied hastely. She knew there was something going on, she felt it in her bones and the folks gathering at the church only reaffirmed that she was not welcome any longer.

" yes we have everything ready to go." Jenny replied.

Cassi grabbed up everything and shifted the weight on her feet. She could hear the voices outside grow louder and she shivered once more.

" when i came back from the church.... i seen them. i didn't think anything of it... but something isn't right down there." nodding her head towards the window.

"Everything is going to be alright!" Alex gave the best effort to reassure Cassi but her heart was already terrified.

"I reckon we's best be aheadin out of town." Cassi whispered softly to hide the majority of her fears. Yet her eyes did not betray the look of worry that was behind her dark caramel eyes.

The exit was quick and silent yet Cassi was shaking with each step. Once they reached the livery her nerves were on bigger edge. Maybe it would have been best for her to stay outside of the next town. But those are lessons often learned too late. Cassi moved quicker as they loaded up.

"Jenny you stay and stay out of sigh, Cassi you come with me."

Cassi followed and moved swiftly to aide Alex in his switching of horses. She watched his hands turn the leather from one angle to another. Cassi was learning more about the reins and how to hitch. When she brought the other pair forward the voices from outside seemed to grow in her ears making her panic inside. Cassi was very aware of the guns that Alex had resting in place for easy access, but she prayed that it didn't come to killing.

I helped Cassi up and gave her an extra squeeze on her ass that she could not Cassi squirmed from the pinch and wished that she had time with him but that was in the past and they were being unwelcomed

"Cassi, I sure hope you can drive this four-up team." I smiled, "I have faith you can. "

Cassi merely nodded as she clicked her tongue for the horses as she lifted the reins in her callused hands.

"It has five shots, the hammer lays on an empty chamber. To fire, you point and pull back this hammer unti you hear a click and then you pull the trigger. You shoot just like pointing you finger. You do it each time you fire. There is a little block right in front of you, place the pistol there."

Cassi listened obeidantly and placed the gun in place as she held the reins tight. Heaven above best be watching over them now. The wagon jerked and nearly bolted Cassi from the seat but it took her a few minutes to get the feel for driving the wagon. At times she held her breathe waiting for something to jump out at them or the sheriff putting in the last words.

They managed to put some distance from the town and Cassi felt more secure about the horses. She even started to hum softly as the horses bridles jangled to the stepping gait.

"It shore was nice ta see Miz Julia again.. I reckon she done found her someon ta keep hers safe." Cassi remarked as she pulled her bonnet back and let the breeze float her hair back.

" On The Road Again "

"I was really impressed at how fast Cassi learned to hande a four horse team. She was doing an excelent job at maintaing a steady even pace that did not put much of a strain on the team. I rode next to the wagon and talked to Cassi and Jenny as we moved further away from the town.

I told Cassi to keep on going and I was going to check our back trail. I wheeled my horse and headed back the way we had come. I watched for awhile and there was no travelers on the road coming from the direction of the town.

Returning to the wagon, I told the Women I did not see anyone following. The few people that passed us heading for the town didn't say much more then hello, or have a good day. No one bothered us and at about three hours of traveling, I called a halt to give the horses a short breather and rest. I figured we left town around 10:30-11:00 am this morning and I guessed it was now around 2:00 in the afternoon.

I checked the water barrel and it was less than half full. I got a bucket and drew off some water for the team. I gave then only a little each, for they had at least another three hours of traveling.

"Cassi, how is that drivers seat now that it has been fixed?" I had the seat reinforced and another steel spring placed in the middle to give it a little easier ride. I asked Cassi to get me a little bread and jerky while I switched mounts. I changed my saddle from one horse to the other and led it up to the front of the wagon.

I swung up on the wheel and looked inside and called out as I did. "Jenny, how do you like the new accomodationsss............(Pause)........Sorry Jenny, I'll talk with you when I return." I dropped to the ground. "OHhhh. damn. I am always barging in on her when she is feeding David. I am going to have to be more careful in the future.

Cassi came up with the food I requested and handed the small package with one of her smiles. "Thank you" was all I said as I looked up and down the road and then I bent down and kissed her rich full lips. I then pulled her close and gave her a giant bear hug and kissed the top of her head.

"I'll eat while I ride up a bit to see how the road lays out. Don't worry, I'll be back. Get something to eat yourself and Jenny too. Be ready to travel when I return."

I kissed her again, squeezed her hand and and swung up on to the saddle, gave her my best smile and started the horse up the road. I turned back to look when I was fifty yards out and gave a little wave and held up the package of food. I Took a piece of jerky and put it into my mouth and turned back to face the road and to concentrate on more important things.

"Cassi, how is that drivers seat now that it has been fixed?"

"It works rite nicely." Cassi replied as she wriggled on the buckboard. The pause was well worth it as she lowered down from the seat. It felt good to walk abit and she didn't mind fetching the staples for Alex either.

"Jenny, how do you like the new accomodationsss............(Pause)........Sorry Jenny, I'll talk with you when I return."

Cassi noticed the look of Alex's face as he whipped back from the tail. She chuckled knowing exactly what happened without another word. She moved over to the saddled horse and pressed a few extra biscuits in his saddle bag.

"Here's yore eats, Masser Alex." She smiled.

"Thank you" was followed by several kisses and closeness. Cassi yearned to lie with him but it was not meant to be, at least not yet.

"I'll eat while I ride up a bit to see how the road lays out. Don't worry, I'll be back. Get something to eat yourself and Jenny too. Be ready to travel when I return."

Cassi nodded in response to the request. But once more she was overwhelmed by the caress of his hungry kiss. She wanted to drop her clothes and have his kisses on the rest of her body, feeling his cock thrust hard into her aching need. Cassi was panting as she watched him buck into the saddle.

Once he was out of sight Cassi reached into the basket of food that she prepared before. It was easy to take out the crushed fruit with more biscuits and jerky handing some to the back of the wagon for Jenny to enjoy when David was done.

While they were stopped Cassi picked up a bucket and offered the horses a drink of cool water. She wpoke very gently to each one as they dipped their heads to check the contents. Cassi glanced back at the road behind them and then towards the direction that Alex rode off in.

"it shore was somethin ta see Miz Julia. She seems ta foun her a man ta watch over her." Cassi admitted just trying to pass time before they would start back on the road. Cassi offered the ladle of water to Jenny to help the biscuits go down before she moved back into the seat to wait.

Cassi allowed her eyes to scan the surroundings and listened to the sounds around them. As long as the birds were warbling in the trees, nothing bad was gettting closer.

I ate slowly as I rode and scaned the road and the surrounding woods and fields. Everything looked ok and having been a scout with the calvery in the war was helping now. I rode for a distance and stopped and listened and watched. I waited until I was sure that everything was alright and I turned my hourse around and headed back to the wagon.

I mind was half occupied with the present situation and the other on my Miss Cassi. Her kisses still lingered and was a great and beautiful distraction. I gave my horse a sligkt kick and galloped off down the road towards the wagon. I was back at the wagon faster than the trip out. I didn't want to leave them alone to long.

Cassi was sitting on the drivers seat and I waved to her as I rode up. She returned my greeting and then Jenny was waving also.

"Hello Ladies, How is everything?" I dismounted and walked to the rear of the wagon and tied off my horse and returned to the front and climbed up to the drivers seat and sat down.

"Hi Cassi," as I gave her leg a gentle squeeze with a smile. "HI Jenny, everything ok? How is David." I asked and also gave her a reassuring smile.

"The road ahead is clear and so we should continue, OK Cassi, let's Roll" I released the break and called out to the horses and the wagon started to slowly move forward.

Cassi slapping the reins at the same time guided the hares and wagon to the center of the road and we were all back on the road again. I told them that we would contine on for about three hours or when we could find a good camp site for the night. Near running water if that ws possible. I had slowly moved over closer to Cassi so that our hips and legs were touching. I enjoyed the clossness of her and I was happy.

With every bump and rock of the wagon, our bodies rubbed together and I knew that by this evening the fires of lust would be a burning inferno. I would have to get back on my horse shortly and to get my mind back to the job at hand.

"Cassi, You are doing a great job handling the team and wagon. I am very proud of you.", my hand was resting on her leg andI gave it another gentle squeeze and moved my hand up and down.

When we reached the point to where I had scouted to, I had Cassi stop and I turned to Jenny and asked if she would like to walk for awhile. I told Cassi that we would walk the horses and give them a short respite and then pick up the pace again until we stopped for the night. I climbed down and walked to the rear of the wagon and untied my horse.

Retriving my Sharps from the drivers box, I stated off leading my horse and resting my Sharps in the crook of my arm. Close and ready if needed.
