Okay. . .on Monday I'm going to be seeing the surgeon, the first time since the surgery. I am as of last Monday 32 lbs lighter than when I walked into the hospital.

What things have changed for me. . .

1. I went down a pant size and 2 panty sizes. :nana:
2. I lowered the steering wheel on the van and it doesn't rub my belly when I drive.
3. I slid into the booth seat at the restaurant we had breakfast at this morning. :D
4. I fit in the chairs the waiting customers sit in at the hair salon. :catroar:
5. My fingers are slimmer, because my wedding band comes off easier. . .but don't worry I put it back on right away. ;)
6. I can walk up and down the steps to my house without holding onto the banister to pull myself up. :nana:
7. I can reach my feet to tie my tennis shoes. :)
8. I am sleeping easier now that the fat in my neck is slimming down.
9. I have cheek bones!!!! :nana:
10. I only have ONE chin!!!! :

Remarkable progress Red, I'm proud of you!

Feels good doesn't red!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm down to a 16 now.......the hardest thing for me is to stay away from the sweets :), it's a pain in the ass that I don't dump on that stuff like i wanted to.

Glad you're doing good

I had one issue last night. . .a soup that didn't agree with me came back up. :( But I'm okay right now.

I haven't tried the sweets yet. I do have some sugar free candies. I have nibbled on them. Only 3 pieces, since I'm officially still on mushy food.

But yes. . .it feels great. :D

I asked my trainer about the hot water helping to reduce muscle pain and he insisted that cold water first was the key...

Reduce the muscle inflamation, like using ice on a bruse....

College kids!

My legs were hurting before I left the parking lot... I started with a hot shower then truned it as cool as I could stand and let it pour over my legs.

After dinner I was so tight and sore that doing a complete squat caused me to use words that I haven't used since my days in the U.S. Navy!!!

An hour in the spa at 101 degrees and I can squat with very little discomfort...

Keep a log Red... Document those changes and dates...

When weakness befalls you and temptation is stronger than your will break out the log and remember how far you have come...

Sweet sexy dreams dear Red...

I hate logging things. . . lol. . .good thing I have this thread. :D :D :D

I love the hot tub at the Y, but I never cared for the sauna.

Ya, my trainer was a bit tough about me not meeting my goals yet...

Kids!

The spa really reduced the pain.

Now I have to do house work... Dangit. ;)

I never understood the sauna thing myself...

Yeah, the sauna just sweats ya to death, something you do when you are working out!

Ya... It's hard enough to stay hydrated.

If I want to sweat I can do house work, gardening... sex. :D

Your doctor seems to have you on mussy food longer then mine did. I had my operation on Nov 6 and by Thanksgiving I could have solid turkey.

I remember the mussy food and hated it. Was able to have eggs after 14 days.

4 weeks of pureed foods and then I move to chopped. The official day would be the Friday after Thanksgiving, but I am moving it up one day so I can have Thanksgiving with the family. Foods that aren't chopped before being served are introduced during month 3.

Well done hun, it is great to see how well you are getting on  :rose:

I went to the surgeon's office this morning and was down another 5 lbs, so I am a happy camper. :) I'm also glad it slowed down from those first two weeks, that will help on excess skin issues. *shudder*

While I was at the surgeon's office, I was given that little paper you get when you check out. On it, there is a place for current balance due. I hadn't seen the surgeon's bill yet, just the hospital's, which was around $35,000. Well the surgeon's bill showed balance due $14,500!

Insurance is picking that up too. . .thank goodness!

Ok, obviously I've been gone a lot longer than I thought. I haven't read everyone's posts in the threads that I frequented.

So lemme get this right. Did you have gastric bypass?

I had it done on the 24th of October. I was home on the 27th. The first post talks about it, and why I decided to do it, but I didn't give a lot of detail. I can though, feel free to ask me whatever you like. :)
