The objective? Strong Bad, a charming little...guy...answers fan-sent emails in derogatory-yet-hilarious ways. Whole cults have been formed after the creation of "Guitar" and "Dragon." Well, they could have been.

Upon being introduced to Strong Bad and the Homestar Runner site in general, I thought it was an extremely obscure and little known site. Yet it's popular enough that it was referenced in the series finale of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Go figure.

So my first question is, who knows this site? Who is a closet fanatic? If you aren't, I highly recommend you give in to the delicious eeeevilness that is...somebody else. And then go watch Strong Bad in action.

Sure, it is a fun little site. Nice way to spend a few free minutes here or there.

I have seen it mentioned on 25+ message boards going back over two years.

There is even a quiz:

Which character are you?

The quiz says I am Strongbad.

I've been to that site a few times. I still don't get it, but I don't mind.

I'm convinced that Strong Bad is The Cheat's dominant. In emails such as "Techno" and "Privileges," it's pretty clear that Strong Bad controls not just The Cheat's behavior, but also his rewards for "good" behavior. I think The Cheat is just a little bit of a brat, though...but Strong Bad seems to enjoy that sort of thing. Their combined mischief, as seen in "Caper," is much greater than the mischief either could accomplish alone.

It's a lovely story with a happy ending. Or a funny middle.

I believe Techno, Sugarbob... Dragon and Guitar made him famous. If you leave it on for a little while he usually says something or something happens after it ends afer a min or so. You can also click things occassionally at the end. In Privledges, wait for the end, then click homestarrunner's magazines..it'll give you some fact about Staten Island and Guitar cords

I was up really late at night and sumbeled upon SB last year, and I love 'em, he always makes me laugh. There was one point that I got all cought up in it and I actually bought a tshirt lol.

A Classic From The Internet Oracle

They questions and answers do vary somewhat, but occasioally you run into some real screamers! Just so you get a flavour of what I mean, here's a recent one.

Internet Oracle has pondered your question deeply. Your question was:

I agree that StrongBad is manipulative but I don't really see the dominant aspect.

In fact, I don't really see much sexual tension in any of the characters. Marzipan (sp?) hen-pecks Homestar on a fairly regular basis and all the guys try to steal her away from him, but the purpose of all that is apparently to point out how gullible and oblivious Homestar is to his environment.

But yes, it is a fun cartoon.

I had never heard of Strong Bad until my fiance introduced me to it. Kinda sorta funny... his thing more than mine... but still, pretty cool.
