I am new to Literotica and am interested in general discussion about the kind of fiction I write - mainly TG short stories.
I have to say that when I started writing this stuff (for therapeutic reasons being a failed to launch MTF transperson) I had read a few stories on sites like Crystal's Story Site and Fictionmania and it seemed like they were all variations on 3 basic themes:
1. "Relative Compulsion" - Mother, aunt, wife or girlfriend turns man or boy into a crossdresser, sissy, shemale or post op woman. Sometimes "humiliation" is a keyword, although I my case it could only be joy.
2. "Dispatched" - Bad boy, straying husband or sex offender gets sent away to a special school or a strict aunt and through drugs, hypnosis, torture (or perhaps all three) is turned into a crossdresser, sissy, shemale or post op woman.
3. "Voluntary" - Those simple stories of how a person achieves their objective of becoming a wonderful crossdresser, sissy, shemale or post op woman.
4. "Forced by Circumstance" - A regular guy finds himself posing as female, and ultimately becomes a wonderful crossdresser, sissy, shemale or post op woman.
I mainly write Type 4 provided I can come up with something new, and Type 3 again, if I can find a new angle.
I find myself reading less and less TG Fiction where I am only a few words in and I realize it is a Type 2G and I have already read dozens of those.
I was also told before I posted my first story here - "Erotic is in the title, so make sure there is sex in it" so I have done that with the 19 stories posted, although I tend towards romance.
I would be interested in hearing from TG Fiction writers about goes down well here, and whether my stories are on track?
If you haven't read me yet you can be assured that the stories are complete and short - some very short.
I hope to hear back and that this thread can serve as a sounding board for writers in this genre.

I noted your post. I only post my experiences with a TG but haven't posted any stories on this unusual love. If you haven't experienced it, do write about it. If I can assist in any way please let me know. Angie

Thanks Angie - It is good to hear from somebody at last. I am not sure what you mean by "this unusual love" but I would like to read your "experiences with a TG". I write about a lot of things I have never experienced and I would love to talk about how this can work.

What goes down well here are completely unrealistic stories that defy all common sense and logic. The more bizarre and unreal, the better. Both the writers and the audience derive their entire knowledge of transgender people from porn. Nearly all of them admit that they have never met a transgender person let alone had any kind of relationship or sexual encounter with one. IMHO nearly all of the writing in this category is absolute garbage.

I hope mine is excepted - I do speak from transgender experience and in general my stories tend towards the romantic. However, when I was put onto this site I was told "erotic is in the title so the readership expects sex". For that reason the stories I have posted here are more erotic, but just looking at my stats tells me that the "hottest" story with 10,863 reads and scoring 4.74/5 is "New Plumbing" which is basically romance. Likewise "The Quarterback", "Thai Plastic", "Always Fi" and "Duty Demands" are in that vein and are all "hot" alongside "Flicka" which is about as close to kinky porn as I can get.

Hi Maryanne and I'm sorry I didn't spot your thread earlier.

I agree there's a lot of fetish stories that are short on plot and focus on sex. I've written a few stories that are romance first and sex follows along. One about a trans soccer player if that doesn't sound too unlikely, but then my alter ego Hannah, who gets into all kinds of realistic adventures ( polar bears feature ).

You should include a link in your signature to help readers find them. Give me a PM if you need a heads up on that. There's a never ending convo about scores and ratings in the Authors Hangout, which can be summarised thus - Stick to what you love writing and if that's romance - Hurray!! 🥰

Hi Stickygirl, as I said, I am new - an ingenue. How do I "include a link in my signature" because I do want readers o find stuff they like? Where is "the Authors Hangout" or am I in it? How did you find my thread?

Nearly all of them admit that they have never met a transgender person let alone had any kind of relationship or sexual encounter with one. IMHO nearly all of the writing in this category is absolute garbage.
The prevelence of this honestly feels like a deterrent for me. I've dated and had sex with trans women and honestly I don't want to post works about it here because the category doesn't seem to respect trans women. I don't want to be lumped into a category so notorious for being bad representation.

If I ever submit a work featuring a trans character I'd put it under romance before I'd even consider putting it in the TG/CD category.

Edit your signature, by visiting the link below your avatar ( top right of the page ). In the signature text panel you could add something like

'Here’s a link to my stories' then highlight that text, then click the chain icon in the panel heading ( two chain loops on a diagonal ). That allows to add a page link and the link to your story index is here...

https://www.literotica.com/stories/memberpage.php?uid=7000745&page=submissions

So you'd end up with this active link in your signature.
Here's a link to my stories

Where is "the Authors Hangout" or am I in it?
The page you're currently in is shown top left

Click on a link to Forums and you'll see Authors Hangout in the list.
Have a read of some of the threads to get a feel for what is discussed. There can be some 'lively' chat at times and feelings can get hurt, but generally it's welcoming enough. Think it's a room full of dudes out to impress each other ...
How did you find my thread?
I was browsing the thread titles in LGBTQIA and here I am. Because I'm trans and I write, it caught my eye. Welcome to the forums, but I can see you've been busy in the Stories section too!

All of your options listed make trans sound like victims, either by coercion or circumstance and that's a common theme in Trans stories at Lit. I don't see myself as a victim, nor do I reflect that frame of mind in my stories but each to their own.

Don't lean on the advice about how much sex to include - write for yourself. If what you write is authenticate and a good story it will be rated accordingly. Romance is a decent category for stories rich with emotions but light on sex. Having said that when I post a story with a trans protagonist in Romance or Lesbian I make the theme clear in the introduction and tags or else you'll attract spoiled-orgasm criticism.

Yup, it's all full of stereotype and cliche but the stories aren't for us, but for the hungry, fantasy-driven male audience with suppressed bisexuality ;) It's not what I'd choose to read and when I have, out of curiosity, it's left me feeling like I need to wash my brain. Most porn is crap - why would trans porn be any different?

... and yet Trans/CD is where readers will go to find stories about trans folk. I've had cool responses to my stories in Lesbian and Romance but good ratings for romance in the Trans/CD category.

Does LW respect women, or Incest Taboo? We're talking about erotic stories on a sex site and appealing to people's base desires - that may not be the best place for PC content. I agree with your criticism, but to refuse to post in Trans/CD because of the company is counter productive: it will only remain a garbage heap without well written and respectful content as well.

I could talk into the small hours about the shitty content of trans stories at Lit but I'm not here as an evangelist, out to change the world and its prejudices. I'm just one person and I try to take care of my patch, my writing and I'll keep doing that until my last breath. If people stop to read and I make them think, maybe change their minds too then that's great.

You are right. There is very little respect for transgender people in this category unfortunately.

This is so true. Defining the difference between sex and sexuality puts a transgender as just a sex object. I've been blessed to visit, work and party within the trans community. There is so much more than sex. Personally, I'm still a slut but that doesn't make the community full of sluts. Hope I'm not too harsh.

No, you are not too harsh at all. While yes, there is sex, that’s the tip of the iceberg. There is so much more.

I have to say that my categories were intended to be (mainly) humor in illustrating the persistent memes in TG fiction across Lit and other sites. I have tried not to plough the same furrow again and again but some do. So why write TG? For me it is therapy and gives me a change to express my own dysphoria. I am a de-transitioned transwoman and I think that the catharsis in writing what I call Type 4 stories, is making the decision to abandon my assigned gender one which removes choice.
Anyway, I admire you Stickygirl, and anybody who is stronger than me in achieving their true life.
And I agree that there are readers out are drawn into their screens in darkened rooms fantasizing about sex with transwomen - I met some in my time as a woman. I am going to post a story about one of those tonight or tomorrow. It is not intended to be porn, but rather as you say - a story about a transwoman from a site where you will find such stories. It will be from his viewpoint but makes no judgements

I find writing a good therapy too but like therapy, I only write when I feel compelled to. I read your story Duty Demands and could see it was a fun romp.

You're pretty accurate with your observations of TG fiction at Lit 1 - 4, with the premise that their transitions are frequently imposed externally by authoritarian figures as a punishment. ( Cis men would see it that way!! ) Once the fairy-dust transformation is done, then the reluctant gurl nervously and deliciously savours all the delights of her new body and sets to work fucking. ( No months of physically therapy, no lingering pain, no inconvenience of using a dilator ).

That's the expectation of TG fiction for readers: the power dynamic between men and women reinforced; male libido retained by the new shemale; the mystical quality of the precious sperm of 'true men'?

I'm well passed feeling nauseous from that kind of fiction - they're trashy but people like reading Marvel Comics too... odd that Rep Senators haven't legislated against Spiderman using men's restrooms. Yet. Maybe SCOTUS can make a ruling against Iron Man, because he seems a bit woke? ;)

Don't you dare say I'm stronger than you! I don't know the obstacles you had in the your life and transition - I had the support of my family and university, so don't dare give me a pass. I can be as big an ass as the next person and I don't represent transgender people - I just am one, like you. :rose:
