But myself being female if my male partner left me for another man, it would be 'slightly' easier to handle knowing it was for something I could never give him, not becasue the new person was younger and had firmer tits or a huge bank account.

No sweat either way! It has happened to me in the past, and I've handled both the same way. If someone I'm with is not content in being with me, it is their right to seek it else where. I have the position that my partner is not property, but someone who decides their direction in life. If you think what I'm saying is bullshit, every girlfriend or wife that I've been with is still my friend, and sometimes a lover (for old times sake)! I will maintain this position for all my life.
