Storytime....

Leave the poor person alone. Here for his edification I'll elucidate:

"Welcome to the Playground!

This forum is for posting fun topics/discussion - pretty much anything you want to talk about." -LadyG

These are simply conversation starters.

Here's what Laurel, one of the owners of this website said:

posting full stories to the forum circumvents the site submission process.

If authors want to post specific parts of a story - say, a paragraph or three - on which they would like feedback, that's fine.

I was quoting site rules. That's it. Users have been banned before for breaking this rule, so I thought you should know about it.

If you don't want to follow the website rules or prefer to ignore it, it's not my problem. But do think twice before abusing a moderator if your thread gets deleted in the near future.

Peace.

No. Those rules have been modified/updated since their inception in 1999, although the gist remains the same. You can find most of the newer rules from Laurel's older posts in Author's Hangout.

So, you're saying the official site rules, aren't.

That's fascinating.

Get a Mod in here, there are two: LadyG, Wife of Bath.

FWIW,

Here's the link to the sticky thread of story feedback, where Laurel approved the guidelines I compiled from around the entire Forum.

http://forum.literotica.com/showthread.php?t=41569

Read the second post.

-DO NOT post the entire story/story idea on the thread.

*sigh*

Discussing site rules is the last thing I like to do. If you have a hard time believing it, don't. I don't like to shove my 2 cents on anyone. Do whatever you like.

Ok. I've read it.

First, if true for the entire board and not simply for that forum this rule should be a part of the forum rules I referenced above. It is unreasonable in the extreme to expect anyone to read rules posts in forums they aren't even in.

Second, only one item qualifies as a story per the submission guidelines (4. We do not currently accept submissions under 750 words.) and it is 760 words.

As for the rest I had never actually considered submitting them as they are not really erotica at all and I can actually see advantages to it. But I don't know as any of them would be considered at all, I suppose I could submit them as poetry, but in most of the cases they really aren't.

Just my thoughts....

A story is a story - whether it's Erotic or Non-erotic. There's a Non-Erotic section on Lit, BTW.

That is a really long picture... you couldn't shrink it for your sig?

Anyway, yes obviously. But that doesn't really address any of what I said.

If you want to keep on posting stories on the Forums, go ahead. This thread will go bye bye if it has to. Till then, happy posting. :)

No... I'm not posting till I get a definitive answer and then this thread will need to be rebuilt due to these posts.

Currently removed the "stories" in question in my posts as I have originals until I get that definitive answer.

Soooo, did you get your answers?

Soooo, did you get your answers?

I did

There's no problem posting "personal anecdotes or short fun bits... ...the problem is that calling the thread "Storytime" may give the impression to some that you're posting submissions to the forum... ...I'd rather not have folks thing they can circumvent our submission guidelines by posting stories to the forums - where they aren't vetted - rather than to the main site where they can be checked.

If you could somehow note that you're not posting story submissions to the forums - that you're sharing anecdotes or ideas etc. - that would be very helpful." -Laurel

I'm considering what to do with the content that was here and will probably be making a new thread in the end to post my "anecdotes or short fun bits".
