Right, so I'm fairly new to Literotica but I hit on an interesting challenge for myself (and anyone else who wants to contribute lol). Now, as we all know there are seven basic stories archetypes (http://aglssofwter.blogspot.fr/2010/05/seven-types-of-stories.html). My challenge to myself to build up my story base is to write one story based on each type. Actually, I've already made a start because I have a two-parter that covers the Voyage and Return archetype. And I have half an idea of what I want to write for an Erotic Quest story. The other archetypes are :

1. Overcoming the Monster
2. Rags to Riches
3. Comedy
4. Tradegy
5. Rebirth

I'd appreciate anyone who throws out an interesting idea fitting any of the story archetypes. Feel free to use any ideas you see on this thread for your own stories. I'm sure our spins will be different and it'd be interesting to read the different takes on the same themes/characters. As I finish each story over the coming months (and months!), I'll post a link to this thread to keep it alive. I encourage anyone else who takes this up to do the same. Happy writing!

Are we talking about a scaly, hideous creature monster or a generously endowed dude's 'monster'? That would make a difference in the story line, I think. :D

Who's to say some generously endowed dude's monster can't be hideous and scaly?

We have a new archetype! Naw, I just didn't check my typing skillz :(. I think that the monster archetype is all about how you imagine it. If you want to write a story about the problems of a guy with a giant scaly cock, why not? Though the hero/ine might need a high pain tolerance in the 'fight' scenes (http://www.tubeplus.me/info/1600953/)- nsfw btw).

Perhaps it depends on which one you may be more afraid of. Personally I'm running the other way regardless.:)

Hear hear!

But getting back to topic, this idea, and the blog post, gave me some great jumping off points and a new story is brewing. Thanks for posting this.

I don't consider Cullen Miles, or even his mother, as the ultimate authority on how many "basic stories archetypes" exist, much less their specifics.

Just because it appeared in his blog doesn't make it a fact.
