Story Criticisms

"bareback" is a term used in gay sex that means anal sex without a condom. I have never heard the term used regarding straight sex.

I have, actually.

To quote law and order ;)

so this is several years back since I don't watch the recent episodes, it was used in that episode to refer to hetero sex. Jack McCoy saying the term derisively in the courtroom was good for a smile.

However, that could of course indicate a regional usage.

Okay then, the term is also used in straight sex. That would mean he's probably straight, because of the laws of averages and because of his preoccupation with pregnancy.

Hey box...
You know what they say,
learn something new everyday.
Hanging around here I find myself learning myriads of things.

Relieved to find some sympathetic ears...

So my question is this: Do you other, perhaps more experienced writers, run into this sort of thing a lot? Or do I just attract the nutters?

I'm a relatively new author too and I came to the bulletin board particularly to make sure I wasn't alone in being criticized for ridiculous things. I mean, if you don't want to read a non-consent story, why go to that section? So many people want to remind me that "no means no"...

I have learned from you all already--time to write a disclaimer.

I think I also picked up on the wisdom that there is no point in erasing stupid comments from the public comments board? True?

When you write a story, it is not actually one story but many.

1. The story you THINK you wrote.
2. The story you wrote.
3. The story you REALLY wrote but didn't know you were writing ('The Return of Dacia' caught me by surprise over it's real content after I had extricated myself from the situation.)
4. The story the reader READS.
5. The story the reader WISHES you had written.
6. The story the reader WISHES you had not written.

You forgot about the story you intended to write. Three times I have tried to write about a particular idea, but it keeps turning into something else...

A lot of readers do that...

I sometimes have to tell them...

If my sex life were anything like my stories, I would be too busy to write about sex.

ROFL!!!

Thanks for being here. I appreciate the support!!!

I don't know why, but the person who started this thread five days ago hasn't added anything and hasn't posted anything else anywhere.

Where has thisfadedangel gone? Frightened off by the responses to this thread? After the first and only post, 'faded' has faded...

Where was I?

Oh yes. I sometimes, only sometimes you understand, include sheep in my stories. Some have dared to suggest that I should desist.

I did disappear, but not because of you! I was down in the gulf with the Red Cross for a few weeks. No computers there, and definitely no computers that were safe to check this site on. But I have returned, never fear!

I know, I know, I know. I am bad. :(

Well, Angel, let's face it. Helping the Red Cross in the Gulf Area might be even more important than reading and writing smutty stories. Welcome back. :D

I'm learning that- disclaimers don't always do the trick either...
I delete stupid comments, unless they tickle my funny bone.
I'd say fifty percent of my stories are accidental, written instead of the story I meant to write!
Hope you stick around!

Welcome to the AH!

I find the best criticsm is what the authors here have to say. I absolutely love and respect everyone one here and am glad to call them my friends.

As for readers who leave any type of PC, good or bad, I always remind myself that I am writing to get to a reader. If my story makes them have any type of emotion, then I did my job.

I believe I had one bad feedback since writing - the person (of course our infamous "anonymous" called me a slut. I thought, why are you calling me a slut? I wrote the damn story, I didn't particpate, it was fictional....but I shrugged it off.

Just keep writing and good luck!!

I would take that as a compliment of a very high order. :D Any time readers get so into the story that they feel obligated to castigate the characters or the writer, you have done your job. :nana:
