Did you know that there are only 20 stories in lit that mention the word "tuba". I have not looked through all of them, but in at least 2, tuba players are getting some. That was more than I expected.

You have some sort of freaky tuba fetish, no? :D

You could say that, I'm often intimate with a tuba. In looking at some of the stories, it seems that the tuba players are, well, not the most popular in general, except for certain things I suppose.

Okee dokee... one fetish that is new to me- thank you for teaching me something new today :D

Well it's hard not to be intimate with a musical instrument that you play.

Oboe has 38 stories btw. I have little experience being intimate with an Oboe, I was able to get a sound of out one once.

hehe, I loved that movie, and started a lifelong crush on Ms. Hannigan.

"Say my name bitch!"

I have no interest in that particular brand of intimacy with any musical instrument. Of course other toys, well yes.
She is delightful- but I liked her way back on "Buffy" and still adore her on "How I Met Your Mother" :)

I never saw Buffy, have not had a TV for like 15 years. But we watch things on DVD and How I met your mother is a favorite. Our 3 year old loves that show. Loves Barney. Then we showed her a couple episodes of Doogie Howser (which aged surprisingly well). She was a little confused.

I don't have cable either- I watch most episodes online. I'm going to have to supplement my DVD collection soon because I'm on my tenth time watching "The X-Files" all the way through

I have some recommendations:

1) The business
2) Party Down
3) Slings and Arrows

All very different, all very good.

The first two aren't familiar to me, but I know Paul Gross was in the third. I have to finish off my "Sex and the City" collection- still need seasons 3, 4, and 5. Oh, and my "Welcome Back, Kotter" collection- I only have season 1 so far :D

I totally love Paul Gross, started watching other things with him in it. And of course he will be on American TV soon in a new show, though it did not get good reviews.

Slings and Arrows is very very very good, probably one of the best I have seen. 3 seasons only, a different Shakespeare play for each. 6 episodes per season. It's one of the very few DVDs that I own. Also has a young (and unknown) Rachel McAdams in the first season.

Like "Due South?" :D Canadian stereotypes going strong!

Rachel McAdams is enjoyable- Red Eye was on at midnight last night, but I was too tired to stay up and watch it.

Yes, of course. Though I could not watch the whole series, it was a little too much for me. And of course Men with Brooms, which I hear they are thinking about making a sitcom based on that.

Oh delightful... more curling on TV  :D

So, sliding a rock down a ice sheet so it can hit other rocks appeals to Americans? :D

Well some of us. Probably not me though. But if you consider American TV (which I watch only in hotel rooms), it's an improvement on most of it.

I would have to disagree... unless we're talking about golf :D

Any stories about the trombone? (Yes, I play trombone ...)

Brass players have good armature ... ;)

Rox :rose:

I am curious how you came to be looking for these words in lit stories and why?

I must say I am surprised the number of tubas, xylophones and oboes represented.

There's only 13 stories with a bassoon in them, which is a shame.

Surprisingly, the more often played pink oboe is only included in 15.
